That video mostly talks about going taking the bus from the city. I am interested in getting there to and from the airport.

I only found one other shuttle in the same price range. Its called the Pink Bus, or something like that. It only has one trip per day. Easy Ride has 4.

I remember inquiring with Vanessa on a previous trip, but she also charged $120. If its over $80, I may as well take the Cocal shuttle for the reliability.

Renting a car, with all the insurance is something like $70/day if you get all the insurance. It used to be much cheaper. Now rental car prices are out of control.

Planning a Jaco trip in the coming weeks. I have been to the Cocal several times and was looking to frequent again. In the past I have rented a car, but in reality, barely used it. I have always ended up parking at the hotel and never using it. I rented it mainly so that I would have a fail-safe way back to the airport on the day of my flight.

But this time I wanted to consider other options. Private rides, whether provided by the Cocal or other operators, all seem to cost $120.

I did find one shared shuttle, Easy Ride Shuttle, that does trip to and from the airport 4 x / day. It only costs $40.

Has anyone ever used Easy Ride before? Either that, or, does anyone have any other options. I can do it, but $120 seems a little pricey for a 90 minute ride.

Very seldom is it a "90 minute ride". Trips to or from Jaco can easily be anywhere from 2 - 4 hours; depending on traffic. Driving in the SJO region is a nightmare. If you do it in 90 minutes, you're lucky!

I'm planning my return to Costa Rica later this year after many years away chasing the "cho cho" in other lands. It pains me to read of chicas wanting to charge $200 for an hour, including in the daytime! There's no way in the world I'm paying that. Back when I first started going the daytime was a good time to cut a deal with a cute girl from between $50 to $70. Then in the evenings the girls mostly held at $100. But $200 for daytime action? Not going to happen! No way, no how! I'm not paying that for evening action either! But, I'm really looking forward to this trip though. It will be an "anniversary celebration" of sorts I guess. Planning to split some time between San Jose, and then Jaco where I have never been (Jaco wasn't a "thing" when I was regularly going). One question I have that maybe somebody can fill me in on. How are the chicas for allowing mongers to take pictures these days? I mean I use to get all kinds of great shots during my past trips to Costa Rica! Virtually all of the girls were willing (a few even showed their faces). I hope at least that much has not changed for the worse!

For my upcoming trip, again I plan to split time between San Jose and Jaco, so I will need to arrange for transportation between the two. I've done some research and I have some ideas (like a shuttle bus service for around $40), but was wondering if anybody has any favorite shuttle bus companies or private drivers they would like to recommend (especially based in Jaco)? I know about "Vanessa". Cocal said they would shuttle me back and forth for $120 each way. Uh no way Jose (no pun intended)! That's like three times the price I can get from somebody else for the same kind of service! Not going to happen. Not on the ground yet and already trying to gouge a gringo! Also still looking for some feedback on what the "photo culture" is like in Costa Rica these days. It was outstanding years back!

Jaco is a beach resort which makes everything more expensive anyway. Also, when you're on the Main Street of Jaco, you don't even feel like you're in a Third World Country.

I bet only 10 - 20% of the girls get any action; the rest are just window dressing, LOL. It can be a bit overwhelming as you sit at the bar and get attacked from all sides by girls who want to get you to buy them and overpriced drink. If I recall, beers alone are about $6. Problem is, they're almost hardcore and you can forget about any GFE treatment; strictly business at the Cocal. Back in the day, you'the meet a girl in the Hotel Del Rey and take the girl to Jaco for a weekend. That business model no longer get exists.

Agreed 100%, that is the amazing thing about Cocal, where you as the guy are the rarity. Incredible. I've typically found it to be a 10-1 girls to guys, they are just waiting for you. And I think if you ask around you can find a girl to go to Jaco for the weekend as they all go down there anyway. But to me, Jaco is the last place to be tied down to one girl.

I rarely have an issue with GFE, and I'm not the greatest looking guy. Think about any business where you are face to face with customers. There are customers who are ok, customers you like, and finally there are the 5% you love and want to take home for dinner. Be the 5%. Dress well, approach her respectfully. Compliment her, then buy her a drink. Ask where she is from, be friendly, act happy and excited to hear her answers. Follow up her comments, and always be positive about her. Finally remember the warm response of the human heart has no price.

Remember she is human, just like you. Meeting a stranger for the first time, she will naturally be intimidated and guarded, even if she doesn't act it. Act caring, supportive, and keep it lighthearted. She is willing to be a provider for you. I mean, she wouldn't be there in the first place if she wasnt. Make it easy for her, and make her feel good emotionally, and she'll be a great provider. Trust me, it works.

My buddy had a GFE. The girl was timid and first time there looking to make some extra cash. Apparently came from the Altantic coast. She sat on the sidelines hoping someone would go up to her. Luckily my buddy spoke Spanish because she spoke zero English. They got on well enough and everyone was happy. Maybes it's a just rarity since most girls are to aggressive especially when going through the "gallant" trying to find a seat. Yea most girls won't get any probably and definitely that's the impression I got. Most stand around or go with their usual "what is your name, where are you from" script. It's honestly a little cringe. Cocal is definitely on the pricier side but I wasn't hounded to get drinks or food by the bar staff luckily.

Also I forgot to mention during my last post, but stay away from Miami airport if possible. Going through custom is a disaster and likely to miss your connecting flight if you have one. Try to avoid at all costs.

Stayed at an Airbnb owned by an American that allowed "guests" during the day which was a nice option. Didn't partake with any day time activities but an older gentleman staying nearby definitely did. Food prices definitely went up as well due probably to inflation and even perhaps Mr Putin rolling his tanks in eastern Ukraine. Somehow ended up paying $18 for a burrito in orange juice at the pink sunrise breakfast joint. Other places we ate at didn't see that much of a significant pricing increase but otherwise I felt like I was eating food back home and not in an inexpensive Latin American country. Weather was beautiful due to it being the dry season so maybe that was the price for the uptick in prices.

Anyways, Cocal is great as always. The girls I talked to started at $200 but depending on the time of night and the girl they can go lower. First night was $200 because I allowed myself to be enamored with the girl but otherwise the Saturday and Sunday girls I had were $150. Some girls if they value themselves highly or are extremely beautiful will either stay at 200 or even more. Girls during the day at Cocal won't budge from $200 where I wanted $100 for some afternoon delight. The way I look at it I am saving money while they are losing. There is no way I am paying 150 or $200 during the day. As for the $150, I was happy enough to pay it when I usually got there around 9 pm. Place was packed with so many girls it boggles the mind and with so much variety it's insane. The nice thing about Cocal is that you don't even have to try. Everyone there knows what the game is. It's a toy store where you pick what you want and leave. No.

I took a long weekend trip to Jaco a couple weeks ago. Landed on Friday and left on Monday. It was my second time in Costa Rica and my first time in Jaco (first time in CR was San Jose). Cocal was pretty nice although I had been led to believe the prices would be lower. Almost every girl said she charged $200 for an hour then immediately lowered it to $150 "just for you". So I'm guessing $150 is the starting point for negotiation.

I ended up taking a short, full figured (yes, full figured, not fat) Tica back to my Airbnb for happy time for $150. Probably could have negotiated a lower price but whatever. She was a great time. Everything covered including oral. They seem to be very safety conscious which is a good thing but man I wish I could have gotten a BBBJ.

Speaking of safety, beware of pickpockets.

99% of the prior reports say the asking price was $200; not sure how you were misled. Regardless, 9 times out of 10 the girl would have provided a BBBJ for an extra $20, LOL. It's called "The Art of the Deal"!

I was in Jaco for 10 days in the middle of December and pretty much hit Cocal every night. Prices have definitely gone up since covid, top tier girls were asking for $200-300, I stuck firm at $150 and usually bagged them. Although a couple got $180 out of me, but they were absolute dimes. There are cheaper girls available of course, just depends what your preference is.

December is a weird time though, vast majority of girls are Costa Rican as all the others return home for Christmas so my experience might be an isolated one.
