I've been during the rainy season. There were times when everything was wet and gloomy. I've also been during the dry season and the weather was a lot better. You never know how much rain you are going to get, but why take that chance when I can go after the rainy season when its much less of an issue?

September through mid November is the rainiest time of the year. http://gocentralamerica.about.com/od...Costa-Rica.htm

Planning a Trip to Costa Rica / Jaco

    Hello all

Planning a trip to CR next month. Has anyone used JacoVIP to handle lodging, transportation services? Any experiences with them would be greatly appreciated.

Just to remind everyone that the rainy season, is not like the monsoon season like in S. E. Asia. Most days are like this. Mornings are beautiful and clear. Starts clouding up at 11-12. By 2 the showers hit until 4-5. 6 pm beautiful postcard sunset on the beach. The last week, we have had very little rain. Sept. And Oct. Are out rainiest months. The greatest thing about the green season is, less tourist and better prices on everything, including the ladies. I will say the last of Oct. Is when we have the most mongers are down here. Keep in mind, mongering is an indoor activity. Have fun on your next trip. Let me know if I can assist in discount rates.

    Looking for info on Jaco

I am an SJ vet who has never been to Jaco. Looking for info including best places to stay and approx. Prices plus usual chca fees. Also the best places to find day time action. Also can I find a map of the place. I know alot of this has been posted but there seems to have been a lot of changes and I am looking for current info.

Spend a night in Jaco. Friday (8/9) catch a shuttle to Manuel Antonio, check out the national park, and then enjoy some afternoon exploring around the beach. Saturday or Sunday make my way back to San Jose. I hear San Jose is bad for having a good time and they have the gold museum. My goal is do the beach, the women, the rain / cloud forrest, party, and see the museum. Please advise.
Here's my advise. Keep in mind that I transport gringos to a from Jaco 2-4 times a week and San Jose every day of the week. Jaco is best Thurs, Friday and Saturday nights for mongering. There is more to do non mongering in Jaco. So, if you want to go to Manuel Antonio, (highly recommended and listed as the best beach in all of Central America) do it. You will be glad you did. Hire a personal Manuel Antonio tour guide, it will set you back all of $20, well worth it. White water rafting, ATV tours, horse back rides, fishing is all right there in Jaco. If by chance you are only interested in the chicas day and night, then stay in San Jose. The are 100 day time M. P's for the partaking, Jaco has none. Day trips out of San Jose include, Volcano's, Waterfalls, butterfly gardens, coffee plantations and museums. To each their own. I like both places and suggest you go to both places to see what you prefer. If I can assist you further, please do not hesitate in letting me know.

Cocal in Jaco is still jumping

I had the pleasure of taking one of our ISG brothers to Jaco and to the Cocal hotel & Casino today and what a great trip. I usually have 3-4 trips per week to Jaco but I really have not been there for the night action. Again, the Cocal did not disappoint. A few girls were there when we arrived at 4:30 so we opted to get something to eat. We headed over to Los Amigos for an early dinner and I had to try the 1/2 lb. All american beef hamburger. Nice burger. Anyways we ate, walked around Jaco and went to to one of my favorite pubs, the Patio and had a couple of beverages. At about 7 pm we headed back to the Cocal. Just as always, the parade of women started to flow in. One right after another. So many gorgeous women. Wow! When we I left at about 8:30, I counted about 50 quality women and probably 15 guys. There we local C. R. Women, Colombian, Nicaraguan, Dominican and Panamanian women there as well. A lot more beautiful women per square foot than you will find at the Del Rey in San Jose. No telling how many was there at it's peak last night at 10 or 11 pm. To me, this is the absolute best time of year to come to Costa Rica. Less tourist, more women to men ratio mean you have the upper hand with negotiations. Come on down, you will be glad you did. I see United is running a special from Houston to San Jose this weekend for $501. 92 are. T.

Like I could understand if someone was in the Sosua area (I've never been) paying lets say $50ish and then going to CR and the prices are around $100 so basically double, then yes big jump. But if I was paying $70-100 anyways in DR I won't be too shocked with $80-100. Now if it were like $120+ then yeah I might be like wow.
This is the Jaco / Jaco Beach thread. The ladies at the Hotel Cocal, the current epicenter of the Jaco mongering scene, will generally hit you up with higher initial quotes than you will generally encounter in San Jose. This does not mean you cannot bargain them down to a more reasonable price. I am not saying you shouldn't visit and check out the scene for yourself. I will advise you to avoid swimming in the ocean in the immediate Jaco area, as the waters there are virtually an open sewer. Check out the beaches a few kilometers south, such as Playa Hermosa.

That is exactly what I am doing. Originally I was going to do the whole vacation ins SJ, but when I started looking into all the activities I wanted to do and realized they were all going to charge me hundreds for transport back and forth I thought why not just do half the trip in Jaco and knock out all my activites during the day and knock down the chicas at night. Unfortunetly I don't have any buddies that are up for the trip at the moment and I'm long overdue for a vacation. So if anyone is looking to go around that time we could meet up and bar hop togethor. This is my first time is CR.
