    Been Quiet

There haven't been any posts in a while. Though I would send out an update. LOL.

Shipmate prices have gone up again. Not too much but they have gone up none the less.

Short term: $2,500 (one session) $50 USD.

All night: $4,500 (two sessions) $90 USD.

Exclusive: $6,500 (three sessions) $130 USD.

Regardless of price I always give a tip if the service was great and it usually is for me. Always let them know your expectations up front and enjoy the time!

    Travis McGee's report

One of the best reports on any location which I have ever read over the past eighteen years. Totally literate and detailed about the stuff that matters. Very helpful to anyone hesitating whether to plump for Blackbeards.

    A Cherry Trip to Blackbeards

Experienced monger here, reporting on my first Blackbeard's trip. Spent five days there recently.

    Communication.

Making reservation and confirming and modifying details was done mostly by email. Robin was especially responsive.

    Pick-up.

Driver waiting for me as planned at Santiago airport. Cool about stopping at Jenny's Supermarket to change money. There is also an ATM outside Jenny's which I used a few days later to get more cash.

    Check-in.

Paid the room rate in advance in Dominican Pesos. Tax is high18%. Was reminded that my room (D2, deluxe single, king bed) was right next to the disco. This was explained to me earlier, so I made a wise packing decision to take ear plugs. Music really didn't bother me that much. Disco shuts down promptly at 11, so it's not like I was kept up all hours.

    Room.

The room was better than I expected. The photos on the website suggest harsh, garish colors, but I now know that it was the bright, cool light that made it look that way. Though I can't say the room was tasteful, it was warmer-looking than expected. It was clean and in good repair, save for the ceiling fan shroud. The minibar fridge worked well and the air conditioning and fan kept the room cool with a minimum of noise. WiFi was booming and consistent, both in the room and throughout the facility. TV worked OK, though the remote buttons were a little fiddly. Porn on 301 was nice, though it all looked the same. Plenty of closet space and enough hangers (which you often don't find in 4- and 5-star hotels). Safe works with a key, easier to use than the contemporary keypad models. The bed was comfortable no lumps and has good lumbar support. Lots of pillows. Bathroom fixtures were old but in good repair.

    Facilities.

Pool was recently refurbished. Water temp just right for cooling off after sunning. Didn't go in the Jacuzzi. Everything seemed in good repair. Bar was sort of uncomfortable to sit at; not enough of an overhang so where do your knees go? I didn't try the Jacuzzi--and it was out of order for part of my stay.

    Neighborhood.

I was surprised to find that the neighborhood around BBs was really nice. Beach is two short blocks away and features a number of seaside cafes and barsthough not so many as to make it seem commercial and tacky. There were a lot of handsome houses and condo buildings. Going the other direction, Jenny's Supermarket was a little less than a mile. Costambar is a gated community; I never once sensed any threat during my walks.

    Food.

Breakfast was consistently good; nothing better than waking up to a good omelet, toast, Dominican coffee, and fresh OJ after a night of sex. But I wasn't impressed by the lunch and dinner fare. Chicken with a lemon caper sauce was great the first time I had it, but the second time the chicken was tough and dry. The pork chop was even tougher and dryer. The mozzarella sticks were like bricks. Hamburger was so-so. In short, typical pub grub.

    Staff.

Manager Robin seemed born to the job. Easygoing, remembers everyone's name, listens thoughtfully. I always enjoyed talking to him. One of the day managers, though, was not so nice. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I asked Robin if I could check out an hour late. Sure, he said, no problem, no one else has your room reserved. When check out day came, though, the manager on duty told me no, that wasn't possible. She gruffly informed me that I'the have to move my stuff to a different room and pay a $25 fee. My protestations that Robin had told me otherwise fell on deaf ears. Definitely lost a bit of goodwill with that one. The housekeeping staff was very personable and cleaned my room early in the morning as requested (for which I tipped them personally). The waitstaff was also sweet, especially Monica and Adriana.

    Processes.

All food and drink transactions are laboriously written out on a pad with carbon paper (Most of the time I paid in cash, though sometimes I billed my meals or drinks to the room. It was never clear to me how they would keep track of which meals I'the paid for; I never received any receipts. At check out, I was presented with a total but not a breakdown of expenses, which made it impossible to double check my bill. Hope that BB's installs a 21st century billing / point-of-sale system someday to make it easier to keep track expenses.

    Chicas.

All the women I was with were clean and well-groomed. Each one took a shower upon entering my room and on leaving it. Nearly all had at least one tattoo, but no one was heavily or unattractively inked. Nearly all had shaved pussies, and those who didn't had a nice little trim. One had a nose piercing. They were all Dominicanas and ranged in coloration from dusky to chocolate. Most had natural tits, though a couple had had work done. None of them was drop-dead gorgeous, but neither was anyone homely or skanky.

All the women were cool with me taking pix of them (clothed). I didn't ask for nude shots.

Hilda, one of the mamasans, was very good about finding me the kind of girls I like, and seemed to manage the chicas with a good mixture of firmness and empathy. She's also pretty hot herself and I had a good trio with her and Michelle.

Personalities ranged from those who came close to offering a GFE with good eye contact, laughter, and a short nap together afterwards to those who seemed rushed and mechanical. I had four threesomes; three of them where what BB's calls a "Happy Hour," which is when both women focus on you but do not interact sexually with each other. The standouts there were Rony & Chanel, who were good the first time and great the second. I also had a "Lesbian Show" threesome which costs slightly more and, because it was fairly light on the girl / girl interaction, wasn't quite what I'the hoped.

I had two anal sessions, both with Ana. The first wasn't that great; Ana didn't seem at all into foreplay and wanted to fuck spoon style as soon as I got respectably hard. And she left quickly afterward. Over the next few days, she came over to me a lot and asked if I wanted to go again, and finally on my last day there I relented. This session was better; she didn't rush to the main course this time and took quite an anal pounding in doggy.

Two standouts were Marlin, a new girl, and Flor, a veteran. Both gave close to a GFE and definitely knew their way around a man's body.

    Suggestions.

One my best decisions was to bring a Bluetooth speaker and a tablet. I'm not normally a fan of background music during sex, but here it really helped set the mood and gave the chicas something to dance to.

For those who plan on doing trios, I suggest bringing a LOT of condoms, because the girls are diligent about swapping them out each time you go from one to another. BB's sells condoms at the bar, but they're not as good quality as the ones I brought.

There are rooms on the other side of the pool, across from the bar, that are entered from the outside and have little front porch setups with a chair or two. That looked pretty inviting, so next time I go I may request one.

    Summed up.

Thanks to the other posters on this board, I knew pretty well what to expect at Blackbeards. My experience there was very much line with what others have described. It's not the way I would choose to do This Thing We Do all the time, but for where my head was at at that time, it was perfect. I was stressed out and mentally tired from a grueling stretch at work. Didn't feel like assessing, pursuing, and rolling the dice this time. Blackbeards had what I was looking for and did it well. Everything worked the way it was supposed to. And while I can't honestly claim it was an amazing mind-blowing experience, it was a good one nonetheless. I suspect I'll return.

No ID required on check in, just have cash either $ or pesos. You can make up a name, just remember what name you used. LOL As far as credit card info, they never check, I always turn a couple digits around.

    Very late report

But we are all more interested in how you got on at Blackbeards. A friend of mine has just left in disgust, because not only was the pool closed for repairs, but the workers were noisily chipping off the tile and cement for eight hours a day, every day he was there. Dominicans will never pass up the chance to kick up an anti-social racket.
Pretty late review (visited BB last year summer).

    Overall:

Like most have said, definitely noob friendly, pretty safe area, and plan for 3 days tops. Anything more than that and you start getting bored real quick. The pool was open when I was there but I don't remember anybody actually using it.

    Girls:

Girls rate mostly 6.5's, a few 8's but you better make appointments! (Keep track of the newsletter.) Remember, you are shooting fish in a barrel, this can get. Boring. If you are looking for more variety, you are free to bring in external entertainment. But personally, I like this kind of boring. If you are a noob, ID advice you to sit your ass down, make some good appointments, get a good massage, walk the beach, appointment, meet up with some folks from here and at BB, and get some advice from the O. GS for your next trip, appointment.

    Service:

I'd say the staff was OK, although I had some issues with my room (hot water, tv) but they eventually got resolved. I have a feeling the "lackadaisical" service pace is probably a common thing in the DR. The phone service was pretty awful in costambar area and BB when I visited, maybe its better now.

Believe it or not, the most memorable thing about BB, and I don't see getting mentioned here alot, is the food. And coffee. I'm I the only one?? The food was awesome! Not a coffee snub but best coffee I have had since.

Nothing like good food and. Arse.

Overall it was a good first experience. When I come back to the DR, will definitely be getting my feet wet with 1-2 days at BBs.

Random advice for noobs (may be outdated):

    - Store in front of costambar entrance (change money, buy liquor), pharmacy not far away on the opposite side of the road.

    - Google tropiclinks for your transport. Beware of the taxi mafia (Not in a scary way LOL, they just won't let you breathe).

    - Tip the workers! (not outdated).

Charles, I hope your friend's experience was a one off!

Thanks for responding and offering to help a noob out when you didn't have to. Hope to make it up to you sometime in the near future!

    Damn auto-correct, it's chica book.

    Way to long

BB is ok but 3 days is all I could take before I was bored to tears. 15 to 20 girls 3 or 4 are real hot but you are in que waiting your turn for the top girls. It is a very small pond. If possible schedule 3 or 4 days. Go look at Sosua and other areas or you to will be bored. If bb was all there was in the DR 10 days ok but Sosua has 2 or 3 hundred girls. You have to be able to walk and chew gum to have fun but most guys can. I have met guys who need o be at BB. No social skills very unattractive then BB is your go to. However if you are a normal guy you will enjoy Sosua variety in women , places to eat and things to do ,beaches clubs. Good luck. You are going to have more sex in 1 week then most guys have in a year.

My friends who know I'm going to DR are starting to suggest I should cancel. The majority of news reports talk about deaths in SD or parts east of there. But the latest was a guy in Sosua.

    Thoughts?
As I recall, all these reports mention Punta Cana, La Romana, etc. If anything had occurred at BB, it would be reported here, possibly before the press.

Bottom line, no problems reported at BB, at the other end of the country from most of these incidents.

Nobody has established any link to deaths. With millions of Americans going to DR few deaths here and there are bound to happen. Death in Sosua probably linked over exertion and weak heart. Could not keep up with sexy young girls LOL. While food safety is suspect in many venues overall do not cause death. Most likely stomach upset with associated diarrhea which will clear itself in couple of days. There are no reports of any deaths in BB. When you travel to other countries there is always a risk. With our hobby more so. Take it easy if there are health issues. You should be fine.
