A few qualifications;.
1) Although the girls are generally reliable there, they are human, most of them with financial, family or relationship pressures we can only guess at (and would very wise not to ask about). So not every session will turn out to be a winner. I guess out of every ten sessions, two may disappoint you. On the other hand, one may blow your mind. Which brings me to another point. Don't fall in love! It is so easy and many of the hardcore mongers here have done so in their early days. It will only end in tears (hers and yours, or just yours). And do not lose your cool over small pricing disagreements. Just put it down to experience.
2) There are, as far as I know, no haitianas there, so that is a new experience you can look forward to on a subsequent trip to the "real" DR. Just hard luck for now!
3) As stated, you will be paying a little more for everything for the convenience of having it "on a plate". Food, drink, sex, taxis and outings will all cost a bit more, but you should be protected from major rip-offs.
4) The swimming is not great next to Blackbeards. It is down-current from the sewage and industrial effluents of Puerto Plata City. Not many local gringos swim there. Dominicans yes, but they would swim in a septic tank. If you want a day on the beach there is a nice beach at Cofresi nearby. Puerto Plata city beaches along the Malecon are better than at Costambar, but still not a good choice.
5) Consider palling up with other guests. Could be chances to share taxi outings to Pto Pta, Sosua, Cabarete or wherever. Taxis charge by mileage, not by number of passengers so it can work out much cheaper than Blackbeard's posted outings.
6) I assume you do not speak Spanish? If you have time, try to learn the basic salutations and numbers. Also practice thinking in pesos (not dollars, euros, or whatever) now and ask for pricing in pesos once there to avoid rounding-up. If anyone quotes you something in dollars it usually means you will be paying "tourist" prices. For example, if something costs RD$850 they will probably ask you for "US$20", around RD$1000.
Have a great time and let us know how you get on.

Prove me wrong (it's why I'm here). Based on my research, BB seems like a no brainer. I'm currently trying to hash out the best week for me to go based on work and family obligations. For me, I want safety, reliability, additional tourist excursions, beach time and pussy on demand for a reasonable.
Price. I have yet to see a safer or better option. (As a total Newb to the DR, I'm very open to a better idea, but I'll need some serious logical convincing to steer me otherwise).
Isn't this what these forums are all.

I'm thinking about heading there myself. I've seen their menus online, the food is reasonable, but I didn't see any drink prices listed. How much are their beers rum and cocktails? I'm also curious about the costs of the rides at the cabstand. How much is a typical ride into the main town, and Sousa? I'm trying to figure out a realistic budget to bring.

Posts: 484Been to the DR many times, never to Blackbeards though
Hey guys, I was thinking of coming to Blackbeards soon. Have been to the DR many times but never there. Can somebody please advise me, can you pay a chick there by hour to come to your room? What do they charge on average? Are they pretty liberal, PSE sex available? Do most do BBBJ? I read here that there are many curvy ladies, more so than on the newsletter photos then, because in my eyes they're pretty skinny! I'm into curvy, big tits and ass types, are there many like that there? What's the atmosphere like there during the day, can you just go and sunbathe by the pool and relax if you're not in the mood to monger, without anybody bothering you? Are the management easygoing? How's the food? Sorry for all the newbie quesitons, but would really appreciate your advice! .

Yes, a prescription is the preferred way to go. That said, there may be reasons its not possible (insurance coverage refusal, high cost of prescription, etc, etc).
On the idea of smuggling, etc, I think many mongers return from trips to the DR with extra tabs of La Pela. If we are talking about a dozen or so, versus 100's, there should be no problem. Likewise, putting a dozen or so foil wrapped tablets (yes, yes, prescription medications) in the mail is technically wrong, but, in a practical sense, has negligible risk. Packaged in a bubble wrap envelope or small box with no return address, the risk is negligible. Additionally, the likelihood that the package would get any attention from the USPS is negligible.
I would bet that the number of mongers who contacted friends visiting the DR, asking them to "pick up a few for me" is huge.
