I'll be there from the 16th until 23rd, not that that will help you. The restaurant on site is very decent. Restaurant Pizzeria SoleMio is excellent and a short walk from BB's. Dinner only. I believe they open at 4:30.

I am going to be in Puerto Plata in 10 days, and I will be at BB for the weekend I got my room reserved. Is there any current reviews or updates?
Can I tip in us cash? A dollar or dollars vs DR pesos? For restaurants other services?
Anyone good providers at BB to look out for? Ones to avoid? I'm more into younger petite skinny women versus so Sosa plus sized women. Thanks fellas.
The 21st is around the corner I am excited.

Does anyone know what the current exchange rates are at BB's and Jenny's?
Currently the DR peso is at 56.25. Curious what they were currently exchanging the dollar for?
I will be going down for my 5th trip next month. Can't wait to get there, sure need a break!

I'll preface this review with a BIG disclaimer. I'm a little different. My perfect experiences do not match most mongers. So this is my opinion. Value it as you see fit.
First, the price for a taxi from within the port area is set. $25 each way. $50 round trip. For some reason the driver wanted to wait there for me. I warned him it would be several hours but he said that was fine. I suppose a taxi outside of the port area might be cheaper. But based on what I saw, I would not advise it. The drive, while feeling very safe, was not through the middle of a city. The area immediately outside of the port was fairly desolate. I didn't see alot of taxis and certainly, no obvious area to wait for a taxi. The taxi fares are posted so $25 is a safe bet. The driver also stopped at Jenni's on the way in and the way out.
Will I go back? I'm not sure. The place was nice enough. The limited staff I met was great. The accomodations, while certainly not luxurious, were adequate. And as others have mentioned, $3000 is the rate.
To be fair, this quick stop was never going to go very well for me. I am not a guy that looks to hit it and quit it. But, with only a few hours with my boots on the ground, that's all I had. It's just not my game. I like to chill out, share a drink or two, get to know them, etc. But knowing time was short, I chose the first girl that I found attractive. Her name was Carmen. Bluntly, there just wasn't much chemistry. Don't get me wrong, she is a nice girl. But that quick experience doesn't do it for me. We talked briefly, she pointed out some things to me as a new guy before we went upstairs. We talked a bit more but just not a great connection. Eventually she just started a BBBJ. This would be my only real negative. She was talented enough but before she started sucking and about every 30 seconds, she'd stop and wipe the precum off the head. Wtf. That kind of killed the experience for me.
I will mention that I was concerned that I wouldn't find a girl to my liking based on the newsletter. There were at least a few attractive girls there.
Another thing that I found odd. It's a fairly large pool area. Perhaps I shpuldn't compare the two but before the trip, I was comparing it to the mansion in Medellin. I would say if you've visited the mansion, you'll have a pretty good expectation of what BB is. One thing I always enjoy about the mansion was the banter with other mongers. Granted, I only spent 30-60 minutes in the pool area. But it was odd. The other guys were as spread out as possible. No interaction whatsoever. It was probably just that time of day or something. But I got to believe there is a similar experience in stories and advice being shared.
Lastly, specific to those asking about visiting from a cruise and the time of day. Remember, the DR is an hour ahead of east coast time. That works in your favor. If you plan on arriving at 10 or 11 ship time, that's 11 or 12 in the DR.
