What are your plans for getting there? Have you researched taxi prices to get there?

I looked it up but didn't find anything definitive. But from what I did see, I'm guessing it could be up to $25. Not too cheap. But, I'm only looking at the positives. I'm going to get there, see what it's like. (This is my first visit there.) If I don't like it, I've only invested a few hours. But if all goes well, I'll likely be back for a week in a couple months.

That said, I got to admit. The girls that are in the newsletter just don't do it for me. The vast majority do not draw my interest. Don't get me wrong, all of them are better looking than I deserve. But going for such a short time, especially during the day in the middle of the week, I know I'll need a good bit of luck on my side.

Use the same cautions with your phone you would use anywhere in public. Ok to leave by a lounge chair as you take a dip in the pool, but I wouldn't leave it sitting on a table whilst I head off to the loo for a life altering shit.

Thank you for the tips. What are the rates for the chica's? Is it easier to use us dollars or Dominican pesos?

I made a recent trip to BB's, I will try to comment on some of the questions below. First time since before Covid. Things have changed much, Nico is still there, another man that works there, don't know his name, was there last time. Some of the wait staff is still there, but I never new all of them. There used to be a booklet of rules in the rooms, and chica prices, but I didn't see that I my room but it was mailed. Prices for short term are $3000 (pesos). On the weekend on the evening shift, real attracive chicas, the bikini contest was incredible. During the day, most of the time, a few diamonds in the rough, but most of them stayed on their phone while I was there.

I did notice that if I wasn't ready at the moment, they would want to try and make and appointmen, and many tried to pair up with a chica for a twosome appointment. Simply learn to say "No thank you, maybe later" in Spanish, and you won't have any problem. I traveled solo, lot's of great dudes to talk with while there. This has always been the case, even more so this trip.

The beach area with restaurants is still there, pretty much the same, but most of them had changed hands. Sole mia still there. There was another place that I ate last time off the beach, can't remember the name but walked by it, also a different them now.

I meant to say, things haven't changed much. Wish there was an edit feature. Another thing that only happened once as I was leaving with luggage, one of the Chicas that I had been with 2 days earlier asked for a propina as I was about to get in my ride. I just acted like I didn't hear her.

I was there in December. Nico, God Bless him, was NOT in good shape and getting around with a walker.

I won't go into details but the whole vibe of the place has changed from 10 years ago and NOT in a good way. It feels very much like a "Dominican Run" business now. If you remember the last days of "Field of Dreams" then you know what I'm talking about.

This is very much YMMV and you may have a great time still but I will never return at least until an American or European with lots of experience wrangling Dominicans takes over again.

If you have a wingman or two to travel with, it makes for a better experience. My best buddy & I have been taking trips together. It's great to have someone to talk to during the trip, to anticipate the adventure as you plan the trip, and reminisce about your experiences after.

When you a brand new, especially by yourself, they smell blood. Before you even put down your bags in room, they will knock on your door and offer help or a massage. Don't fall for that.

Work at your pace, check out all the girls there before you jump right into it. Some will try to convince you to commit the entire day with them (more money), there are two shifts of girls the 10- 4 early shift and then the close out 4 -10 shift. About 15 - 20 girls on a good day. There is a good restaurant around the corner called ricks, Italian food they open at 5 pm.

Nico was there, being forced to listen to the asshole's bitching. Instead of trying to diffuse the situation, he should have had security offer Golfer John the choice of either retiring to his room, or checking out, immediately.

Next time I talk to the BB chica I will need to tell her she is full of crap. I guess she might be about 50% right which is pretty good for a Dominican chica. Glad to hear that BB has not gone down hill as much as she said.

Just spent two mionths in Pattaya and I would say things are about 60% of what they were pre-covid with places opening every day. Even at 60% I would take Thailand over the DR for women and stuff to do at nighttime. Prices are also much less than in the DR for about everything. With that said, I am in Sosua for three months since anywhere is better than where I live in the good old USA.

Have to agree. I enjoyed my first trip to the DR and to BB's, but Thailand is far better along every dimension except travel time. Better food, better sightseeing, lower cost-per-nut, better & lower cost hotels & villas, ability to "wife up" or take a "holiday girlfriend" and get spoiled rotten in and out of the bedroom.

But DR is a hell of a lot easier for a long weekend mongering trip with your best mates.
