I think BB lets you bring snacks and water, but frown on outside alcohol. I think there policy is on the website, but you can email them to check.

Easy to walk around the community, the beach restaurants a few minutes away, Jennys, and some other restaurants easy walking distance.

I don't speak much Spanish, no problem at BB, haven't had a big problem in Sosua. Let some basic phrases, like "how much" and learn your numbers. Or, use translation apps.

For transportation, I have used Tropiclink. You can search for that. I have posted about it before, and I found out about it on the BB thread. You can probably search on this site for information.

I don't remember what I paid, but it was much cheaper than having BB arrange or using a taxi. It is a shared ride, but I arrived very late in Santiago and had it by myself. Not sure where you are located, but they have a US number you can call, or you can book online.

On check-in you can pay in US $ or pesos as the exchange rate is similar. On check-out they mark it up 2-4 p / so if you have a huge tab, paying in pesos can save you some. Paying chias or outside of BB, pay in pesos. Best place to exchange is just inside the gate of Costambar at Jenny's. I would have BB arrange transport, easier & you pay them on check-in. There are 2 shifts, first one 11 AM to 5 PM with about 6-10 chicas. Second shift is 5 PM til about 10 PM with from 20-25 chicas. Mamasans will check with everyone before they let everyone go at night. Lots of restaurants all around Costambar and there is a nearby beach with several beach restaurants. The A rooms, be-3, and I think a couple more on see & the have 2 bedrooms which are separate with doors. The sitting area / bar is between the bedrooms as you walk into the room initially. I have traveled to Sosua seven times since 2018 but selected Blackbeard's for this June. The Sosua crowd is livelier, some of the girls recently demand outrageous prices, drama has increased, etc. Thus Blackbeard's seemed a logical choice, but I have a few questions.

1. Do Blackbeard's guests pay in US dollars or DR pesos at Blacbeard's itself?

2. Do you recommend having Blackbeard's arrange transportation from STI and just paying the taxi mafia prices to get there? (The aircraft arrives about noon).

3. What is the "schedule" at Blackbeard's?

4. Are there things to do near Blackbeard's other than the obvious?

5. Are the rooms with more than one room simply adjoining bedrooms? Some of the advertisements say some rooms have bars and sitting areas, etc and two rooms, but it's not clear if the sitting areas and bars are in a separate area than the bedrooms.

They prefer the pesos, go to Jennys market when you first enter costumbar, arrange the travel with Blackbeards when you make reservation, the taxi mafia is real there, attempting to get ubers maybe difficult. There are 2 shifts of girls a day crew a night crew, about 8 - 16 on each shift. Depending on the time of year, right now all rooms have been booked lately. Jenny's Market has golf carts for rent. A real game changer in Costombar. I'll be it not all the restaurants in Costombar are open because of covid right not, but that can't last forever.

Rental is $15 usd a day. Message me for contact info. They rent out quickly so, call well in advance.

Also, you can park it at Jenny's and call an Uber to pick you up at the front gates. The taxi mafia will not let them pick you up inside Costombar.
