Though I have no personal experience in changing Canadian currency, I know that Costambar has an expat community, with a variety of nationalities. A lot of Canadians travel to the DR, so my best guess is that you would not have a problem.

I just thought that I would switch it up on my next visit to POP since I have never been before. Yes Tijuana is a different animal but can be very fun without breaking the bank if you know how to work it.

I don't know the exact location of Loveras House but I am going to contact the driver I hired in Puerto Plata so that I can find out where it is. I will report back with my findings.

Why would you want to do that? You are adept at prowling the backstreets of Tijuana (which I would not dare do) so you do not need to pay a premium for chicas and rooms. Don't get me wrong, Blackbeards is great for some mongers. It got me started in this country, but once it had done so I have not gone back.

Do you remember Loveras House? Was it a few minutes walk from Parque Central and the cathedral? If so, I might know it after all. Frank's former mamasan started a little casa a few yards from Ana Mirian once she and Frank were "evicted", using Frank's former chicas. I have not been there for ten years. Would be amused to know she is still battling on.

In the DR I have mongered mostly in Sosua, but want to spend a few days at Blackbeards this time. Trying to decide if I am going to stay a few days over the weekend or during the week. The Bikini Contest seems interesting, and I suspect their is a livelier atmosphere overall on weekends. On the other hand, maybe it's slower starting on Sunday and easier to book the most attractive chicas? Also, I hear some of the Bikini Contest participants may come from off campus. Is this true, and if so are the available after the contest. Finally, is the Bikini Contest a "can't miss" event or overrated?

Just as a follow up, I checked the events calendar on their newsletter, and they apparently have events throughout the week, ie, wet T shirt contests, pajama party, etc, though I have no experience with those. Highly recommend you get their free newsletter. It always has pics of bikini contest and other events. Would give you an idea of what to expect.

I think this has been answered, but the girls are all from BB's. I have been there twice on Sunday, I is a good way to kill an hour or two, but I wouldn't say it is can't miss. If I happened to be there, I would definitely stay to watch. All the girls won't stay, but you will see many of them if you stay for a while. If you email BB, the will send you a photo list, I think this is photos from the bikini contest. Supposedly girls on duty, but you won't see all of them there at one time, if at all. But will give you an idea of some of the talent.

The posts in response to these questions are accurate. The bikini contest is entertaining if you have nothing else going on. The girls strut as in any contest, with the addition of raunchy stunts with the judges (lap dances, face straddling, etc) to earn extra points. Good opportunity to scout out talent, as in addition to the contestants, lots of off duty BB girls come in to watch the contest. You can scope out lots of chicas for future meetings. When staying at the hotel, it was not my favorite time, as all available girls were caught up participating or watching the event, so none available for play. Unless its changed, the contests were on Saturdays, not Sundays.

Its worth a look, for scouting purposes, somewhat entertaining for an afternoon.

The slowest days are Sunday thru Thursday, though there are girls on site everyday. If you prefer a quieter atmosphere, this can actually be good. You can check out their photos and have a girl called in if you allow some time for that.

Friday and Saturday nights have events up in the second floor "disco. " Lots of girls in scanty outfits, contests, etc. Keep in mind that on the weekends, there is also increased demand, and you can't wait too long if a particular girl appeals to you or someone else will beat you to it.

Suggest going online to get their free newsletter. It published pics and a calendar of events.

Like said, all the BB bikini girls are regular BB girls that work there. The contest is kind of boring as it is stretched out for a couple hours. Weekends are definitely better as the upstairs crows nest (disco) is open Thurs, Fri, Sat nights for events. Check out the BB website for their calendar of events.

Seeing that none of the chicks live at the hotel, they all come from off campus and are there to earn something. Not sure what bearing that would have on anything. They are all probably new to you so what would it matter? They are all hookers so you are not breaking any new ground.

As far as the bikini contest it is no big deal. Just a few chicks lined up in front of the pool for a couple hours and 3 guys as judges. Some jump in the water and some don't. Nothing to plan a trip around. You can stay in Sosua as you normally do then go to BB for the contest then head back to Sosua after.

Again, all BB is is a hotel with hookers hanging around. For some reason people have a picture that it is more than this.

Not a problem so long as they have rooms available. They have short time rates for rooms.
