Please let Senior Members bypass The Forum's "Text Cleanup Script"

Hi I just posted a reply to a report in the Bahrain General thread, and it came up with a couple of errors when it appeared on the forum, firstly I wrote "are & are" and it came out as are & are, second one is "haven't" comes out as haven'are. Just to let you know.

Hmmm, definitely doesn't like "RRR & RRR" ! (that's letter are and letter R).

I had some problems with the spelling mis-corrections too and already posted about it in the Berlin forum, since something came up there. There's also a problem:

For example with the "%" and " (" marks and with German umlauts (= mutated vowels). I always have to override the spelling miscorrections by editing the reports after upload when I post my Calendar thread lists. The Belgian Afspraakjes-website has a "%"-mark in every URL, so I have to edit every link after upload. (Or have to put the URL between the "]" and "[" containing the terms "url" and "/url" before upload. That by the way is the same way to correct a non working URL after upload.)

If I post something about Club Immergrün, the forum gives me "Immergrüand" because the spelling mis-correcting system cuts off the word after the "ü" and then 'corrects' the following "n" to "and". So editing the reports after upload is always necessary in such a case. As it was just now with the "Immergrün" and the "n" when I uploaded this report.

Someone started to call it FAC – The Fascist Auto Correction but euphemistcally it is called Text Cleanup Script. This is how Jackson defines it:

Here's the bottom line: If you're going to bipass the Forum's Text Cleanup Script, then your writing had better be letter perfect or I'm going to delete it. That means use correct punctuation, spell words in their entirety, capitalize the 1st letter of all proper nouns, capitalize the proper noun "I", double space between paragraphs, do not use repetitive punctuation, etc, etc, etc, and most important of all: Do not write like you're texting on a fucking cellphone.

Senior members can edit a post up to 60 minutes after posting and the editing is bypassing the Text Cleanup Script (and that's how I got the first part as I wanted), but sometimes I have found that correcting the 'Text correction' and restore the flow takes longer time than writing the report itself.

So, Admin, if you feel you have to supervise new posters like an old school teacher; by all means continue with that, but let the Senior members bypass the Text Cleanup Script.

Incidentally: If one introduces a Text Cleanup Script one had better be dead sure to spell every word correctly ('be letter perfect') in the description: bipass Ha!
