Ask any taxi driver when you arrive at the airport. It should only be $ 3. 00. 4.00 for a cab ride to the casino. Kill a few hours between breakfast and the casino, then take another taxi to your hotel in town.

Posts: 25For the record its semana santa, and yes this would probably be the worst time for a monger to be in a latin country outside of Christmas. Its all about family.

Hey guys,
I've got a newbie question here. I'll be flying into San Jose in a few weeks, but my flight gets in at like 5:30 AM San Jose time. What should I do with myself in those wee hours of the morning? Doubt that I can go straight to a hotel as it's too early, right? Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

OK. I thought you wanted to find a doctor in San Jose for medical treatment for yourself.
Now for your other venture. I would try searching on Craigslist. Costa Rica for medical doctors. Find all you can. Then send them info on your business venture.
I have used Craigslist. CR in the past for finding apartments and also found a great 90 day house-sitting job in Oct. 2009 by doing that too. Good luck.

Thank you for your reply. However, I should have clarified in my post that I was looking for an English speaking medical doctor in San Jose for a business venture and not for personal medical attention. I'm really not sure how to go about locating one so I thought I would just give it a try on ISG.

I have been in San Jose many times over the last 10 years. And about two years ago while I was on a 90 day trip there I got sick with stomach aches, vomit, etc.
I asked around and found out that you could go to the local hospitals in San Jose to see a doctor. Sort of like going in to the emergency room here in the US, and it only cost me about a $ 30-40. 00 doctors fee.
I went to the Hospital Mexico. Downtown, saw a doctor, who checked me out and then prescribed some medication for me. I went to the pharmacy got the pills, took then and the stomach problems cleared up in about 3-4 days. He said that I probably had a intestinal virus. But anyway the pills worked and I was OK after taking them for a few days.
I can not remember the name of the doctor though. But I suppose any of them would do, to give you an exam, then perhaps they (the doctor) could recommend a specialist for you, if you needed further treatment.

Can anyone recommend an English speaking general medical doctor in San Jose, preferably walking distance from Del Ray?
Thanks,
