Hello fellow mongers,

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if my unlocked Iphone 5 will work in CR with a local sim card that I can buy there. The Iphone 5 requires a nano-sim which is different than the Iphone 4 or 4's. So, if anyone can answer this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Otherwise, I may have to buy an inexpensive cell phone but I really don't want to. I always get a kick out of using those cheap phones but I tell the chicas it is an iphone 7. LOL.

An unlocked iPhone should work but I am only going by what I have learned from these forums. Most likely you will get 3 G data at best but the calling part should work.

In the DR they cut a regular size SIM to the smaller size. I have used a knife to cut regular size SIM's to the smaller size which works good if you have a nano SIM to use as a pattern.

As a regular on the HDR circuit, I've developed friendships with a select few that are repeat performers. These girls will drink on my dime and spend the night cause they know me and are comfortable with me. Several will spend the night and leave the next morning. That said, TNL for $80 as a rule, is unheard of.

The Holiday Inn charges a significant chica fee and should be avoided.

I only use the H. I if I am with my favorita. Make the reservation for 2 people and register your girl at the desk and you won't have a chica fee. You will have to pay 20 or 30 dollars to bring a different girl up to the room.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn in San Jose. It was only two blocks from the Hotel Del Rey, the rooms were big and modern with a clean King Bed. The price was about $85.00 USD so it is not the cheapest place but it made my stay great. The food in the hotel was good as well. FYI. The holiday Inn is behind the Del Rey on the other side of the park.

The 72 hour rule only applies to bringing purchased products back into the country. Not a bad deal that the HLH split. Now you have 2 well established venues instead of one. Jimmy at the Zona II and Jeff at Scores, (formally HLH) both do a wonderful job. You will still find action on Saturday and the buses will be running as normal. Tell them the Bigg Dogg sent you if you see Jimmy and Jeff.

Thanks for your reply and information. I think the 72 hour visa applies for renewals. I don't think it really applies to me since I'm just in transit to Panama and back to honduras. I'm a little worried, but I think I can explain that everything was shut down so it wasn't possible to get out of the country within the 12 hour time period. I'm sad that HLH doesn't exist. It was a great place. I'm probably going to just check out a few places early Saturday morning before my bus leaves at noon.
