Only two days spent in Angeles out of 20 days in the Philippines and they were two days too many honestly, but hit the bars heavily with my many friends, contacts on both days, I am a 20+ year monger, most of the others were either long time Angeles residents or ex Bangkok resident, some ex bar owners, so between us many years of mongering experiance, most of us speak passable to good Tagalog, Atlantis / dollhouse / club Asia, the-club, Carousel, Voodoo, Pony Tails were all visited for a few drinks by our group,
What we found was out of the many bars we visited not one single bar offered a barfine option, not through the bar, the mamasun, the bargirls even when spoken to in their own language so they would feel more comfortable in our company, basically zero barfines available for the whole group.
Lucky I have many ex girlfriends (non bargirls) on my phones memory that live near to Angeles that were willing to keep my bed warm for the nights I was there, so not so bad after all.
Now that you got my trip report you can make a start on trying to rubbish that too mr shill LOL

however, interpol regard the age of consent in the philippines as 18. you will also be aware that many western countries (usa, australia, uk) in an attempt to stamp out the sexual exploitation of minors make it a criminal offence for their nationals to have sex abroad with minors. that is why interpol regard the age of consent in the philippines as 18. and that is why i would argue, in the spirit of this forum, that the age of consent in the philippines is 18. my original post stands.

"Puritanism. The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy."
How exactly to you get to, all prostitutes = trafficked? I see they're skipping over something logically there.
So what am I flying into this weekend folks? Rain, empty streets, empty bars? Can't I at least get some ST service in the back room?
Can I make some off color jokes at the do-gooders' expense? Here's one I saw on a bathroom wall...
"Jesus is coming!" and then underneath some wag had added "... get a towel!"
Here's another. A man is on his deathbed. The priest asks him "Do you renounce Satan?" The man says "Padre, I don't think this is a good time for me to make any new enemies!"
OK last one. Family seated at the dinner table. Father begins reciting grace. Son interrupts him "Daddy, can't you just say the short prayer?" Father says "what do you mean the short prayer". And the son says "Well I was walking past your bedroom door last night, and you shouted 'God! I'm coming!' and then momma shouted 'Jesus Christ! Wait for me!'"
To summarize: bugger all. I'll report back from the field shortly.

Posts: 90Harry the Horse has some comments in his website about meetings between some of the bar owners and the AC Mayors representative. Some key comments from the meeting; 'Stop the barfines or be raided', '[CodeWord908] must stop', 'Plans to reduce number of bars to 40 only'.
There is definitely something underway in the form of a crackdown but it really is hard to decipher all the conflicting information. I've done quite a bit of research (I'm planning a September or October trip) and have read numerous articles tying the crackdown to different aspects of US financial assistance, most of which I could not confirm. The one thing I could confirm is that the Philippines was in danger of being downgrade to a 'Tier 2 Watchlist' under the US Trafficking in Persons report.
Yes Harry the horse who is a very respected 20+ year resident of Angeles City, a hotels and bar owner who has a montly newsletter on all things angeles, here is the link to the harry the horse comments in which he states that all bars in angeles have been ordered some time ago to ban barfines or face their bar being raided and closed, hence the many bar raids recently of those who though they were above the law.

the age of sexual consent in the philippines is 18 but can be quite complex. sex with any child under the age of 12 is classified as statutory [CodeWord123]. sex with someone over the age of 12 but less than 18 is permissible as long as the age difference between the two is less than 10 years. thus a 20 year old can have sex with a 15 year old but a 26 year old cannot have sex with a 15 year old. as long as the girl is aged 18 and above then it does not matter what age the male is.
under international and community concern, the philippines government made 18 changes to the age of consent laws in the philippines between 2007 to 2009. one of the major changes was the updated anti-[CodeWord908] act which now states there is no age of consent for anyone trafficked into prostitution. although under filipino law a child is someone under the age of 18, everyone is classified as a child that is trafficked and that means that all prostitutes are now defined as children under the law regardless of that prostitute's age..
your claim of any person accepting money for sexual services is classed as a minor regardless of age is correct, and this is the law we should all fear when mongering in the philippines,
as someone previously said, this is the philippines, if the authorities want a conviction they get it regardless of guilty or not.

It is correct that the age of majority WAS twenty-one years of age. It was, however, lowered to eighteen (the current age of majority) in 1989 (please see RA 6809, Sec. 1).

Posts: 36Some facts on the '10 year age difference'
Take all this legal information with a grain of salt; we are talking about the Philippines after all.
This Philippine legislation was passed in 1992. The comments being discussed here about the '10 year age difference' are contained in Article VI.
http://www.lawphil.net/statutes/repa...7610_1992.html
However, the legislation specifically refers to a 'minor' (and someone more than 10 years older) and for the legal age of majority in the PI you can read here.
http://www.wipo.int/wipolex/en/text....inkTarget_5988
Chapter 2 specifically lists the age of majority as 21. I'm not an attorney, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night and my interpretation of the law is that technically, if the girl is under 21 and you are more than 10 years older than her, the law would apply. If she is above 21 she is NOT a minor; period. Again, this IS the Philippines. That addresses the 'minor' issue but not the [CodeWord908] aspect which appears to be the motive behind the raids.

The one thing I could confirm is that the Philippines was in danger of being downgrade to a 'Tier 2 Watchlist' under the US Trafficking in Persons report. They were able to retain their Tier 2 status which assures the PI that they will continue to receive the $1.2 million in yearly funding to combat [CodeWord908]. The Tier 2 watchlist would have eliminated the $1.2 million in funding and a Tier 3 status would have involved sanctions against the PI.
I've found some tourism numbers that indicate the PI may see about $7.6 billion USD yearly in sex tourism. It makes perfect sense to me that the PI would be willing to forego $7.6 billion in revenue to continue to receive the $1.2 million in US aid. If you happen to be in a bar during one of these armed raids, exercise caution and keep your feet away from those of the Filipinos; they might miss their own foot and hit yours.
I'll be in AC in late September or early October regardless.
