Guys,

I was wondering about El Salvador. What is it like compared to let's say Honduras? I mean I read that in Belize is not exactly THE best place to monger. So I am looking for options besides Honduras;or maybe I try to combine it on my trip next year in february.

Did any of you mongers was in Honduras aswell? I can imagine that this was the case as Honduras is very close.

Would you guys say ES is a better place to monger? Cheaper? "safer"? Or just more from the same?

Just wondering.

Hi guys.

I visited El Salvador 3 times over the past year. I just wanted to pass along a word of warning about visiting volcanos. I went up to the top of a volcano near Santa Tecla with my girl (from the area) and her father and sister. On the way down, we got robbed by four men with guns. It looked like I was going to meet my maker for a few minutes there, but ended up getting let go.

I just wanted to make sure you all know to be careful out there. Also, if you do decide to go up there, don't take anything with you that you don't want to lose. (Your passport, for example. )

That being said, I still love the country. Aside from that one incident, I was treated like a celebrity everywhere I went.

To all you Members who wants to visit El Salvador:

The official currency in El Salvador is the US Dollar. The only difference is that they do not accept US$100.00 and US$ 50.00 bills.

Believe me, at any "Casas de Citas" the rates are very reasonable to our standard, not for the ordinary salvadorean and "we" are very welCUM, as "gringos".
