Posts: 3359Anyone who could not understand Art's very well written and detailed post could not pour [CodeWord140] out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel. And any of you cock suckers that do not have the balls to go where he goes have no right to criticize, you candy-ass lily-livered anti-macassar-owning namby-pamby milquetoast motherfucker$.
It's one thing to go to Latin America. It's another thing to do what Art, Lexon, I, and certain others do and walk right into the belly of the beast. That's When you see the difference between a "dangerous neighborhood" in Latin America, where you will be fine if you have your shit together, versus a "dangerous neighborhood" in the US, where they will cap your ass randomly for nothing.
If you arrive in Latin America with no balls, you will grow them in a hurry or you will never be heard from again.

Great report Artisttyp. Please continue for those of us who can understand you.
If some guy does not understand is because he hasn't been to any central or latin America country.

Posts: 73In defense of Artisttyp's reports
Artisttyp is a budget mongorer. If you are a budget mongorer as well, his reports are a wealth of information. The guy is willing to explore every corner of a city to find every location of chicas at budget prices, and does so without fear. I live here and he is already been to some places I have never dared to go or that I never knew about. He and I have also had a bit of fun hanging out. I even actually got him to go to one of the lower priced higher end joints! Anyway I look forward to more of Artistyp's reports on his adventures this week.
If you are not a budget mongorer, then stick to the list of places that I posted several months back.

You would totally be into la linea bobisee. I'm sure every town has some place it just a question if. You can get into average guatemalan women and want to travel for it.

La Linea seems interesting though the pistol packing dudes would have me feeling apprehensive.
Ask a few people about their impressions of Quetzaltenango (Xela). As opposed to Antigua, it seems like it could be worthwhile alternative to the capital.
Stay safe.

I've been here in the city (zona 1) since dec 1. The hotel I am staying at is an excellent choice recommended by another ISG member. For obvious reasons I will refrain from mentioning the name. When I return to the states I will gladly give a full report on the location. Single rooms are around $25 with an added person is $31 in the same room two beds. However visitors are not allowed.
Zona 1 would be my only choice due to limited "walk around" areas in town. I've been to the zona viva (10) but was not impressed. You would have access to a mall (proceres) and a little strip of bars / restaurants) running along segunda (2) avenida but otherwise you would be hoofing it like you would walking in suburban USA or taking numerous taxis. For those adventerous types there is the number 82 or 71 bus running along avenida la reforma which can take you to zona 1 for 2 quetzals (15/20) minutes.
There is a bus service called the trans metro which runs through all the zonas but it doesn't let you off too close to desired locations. Some locals take 2 buses to get where they want to go. The cost is 1 quetzals and stops running at 10pm which is a bummer. Towards closing time buses tend to be rather full with no seats available. Think NYC during rush hour even worse. As far as I know there are 2 transmetro lines. One does a loop from zona 1 plaza barrios up through zona 13 then back around to plaza barrios. I sat on the bus for the entire loop and didn't really see any area that stood out for a walk around. You might notice a restaurant that you want to return to. It also passes a sex shop somewhere around the "tivoli" stop. You will pass the replica of the effiel tower around the same area.
The other route goes to centra sur the bus transfer point for people living in outer barrios. This line is important because it lets you off on "mariscal" which is a block from EL PASO bar and across the street is LOS PASOS bar. Both low end 100Q for 15 minute bar / chongo. I've been to el paso and it was ok but the stage was barely lit. Girls were decent enough for the price but average. You session up in the rooms where they live. This has already been mentioned in a previous report. I like the scene but 15 minutes barely gives me enough time to take my pants off. I did manage however. Next time I will visit the other bar los pasos. Get off at the mariscal stop and walk backwards one black and look to the right. You will see 2 marquees. There is a food mini mall a block or 2 up from the station if you want to eat first.
Buying a sim card for your phone is very easy. Go to CLARO 7ave 12-39 zona 1. I was in and out in 15 minutes and paid 50 queztals for sim plus a 25 questals card.
I highly recommend you buy a tourist map to get a birds eye view of the city or else it will be confusing to manage. They are not easy to find however libreria marquense 8a avenida 19-55 zona 1 has them tel 2232 8537 for around $4.
Supermarkets and laundry ARE NOT plentiful. Super pais is the main supermarket chain here zona 1 18calle 6-85. There is another smaller market across the street. *By the way 18 calle plaza amate and plaza barrios are your main transport and commerical hubs in zona 1. You should familiarize yourself with those areas immediately. Avenida sexta the pedestrian shopping walkway runs a good mile in either direction and will serve your food and shopping needs quite nicely.
The only damn laundry place I found in zona 1 is KRISTAHL avenida martin 9-83 zona 2 15Q per pound. Luckily my hotel has machines or else it would be a pain. You need to drop off for the pick up the following day.
4 grados norte is mentioned several times in the guide books as a nitelife area with several bars. Not anymore! Most bars are closed down due to violence. There is nothing going on there or anywhere else at night! Zona viva along segunda avenida or the strip clubs are the only game in town. I believe bars close at 1am. IMHO after 7pm the whole city is a fucking grave yard. I've been in bed by 11pm but get plenty of running around during the day.
Worth mentioning but NOT recommending in any way are the little shithole GALLO SIGN bars in around plaza amate and plaza barrios. There are roughly 3/4 girls in each placing having drinks with men. One such bar is on 10 avenida 16 calle around the corner from a gas station across the street from bus company LINEA DORADA. Backroom sessions run 70Q for 15 minutes. Girls range from gross to even more gross but you decide. Total hardcore day laborer type of bars. One place close to plaza amate (I think) called playa dorada has a dance floor and was somewhat interesting on a Saturday night.
Artisttyp likes la linea! La linea is the red light district running along the railroad tracks on I think avenida 16 from calles 9 to 1 (?). I've gotten some excellent bbbjs there. The lowest I've paid is $6. 36 which rivals the san jose brothel in Peru cerca 5 years ago. The highest I've paid is $20 for a half hour session milking on her tits. Girls range from gross to somewhat gross to " hey not bad" for the price. There are a few lookers if you like indian features but they usually only offer mechanical service. You can get mechanical service for as low as 20/30 quetzals which is nuts. Beats tijuana for sure but the girls don't measure up in looks. La linea has been my spot! There is a police station right there and alot of patrols around. However it is a very sketchy area. Yesterday I saw a guy with a gun in the small of his back. I have no idea if he was a cop or not. Guns seem to be widely available here. The other night I saw a young guy getting busted for carrying one in the mall parking lot in 4 grados.
Tomorrow I go to tecun uman for a few days (galgos bus company 7a avenida 20 calle) for $27 one way a little cheaper if I bought round trip. Primera classe service. 4 hours no food no water bring your own. 50 lb weight limit.
Food has been excellent here and very reasonable EVEN in zona 10. Wow! The quality is night and day comapred to antigua where I was paying rip off prices and running to macdonalds for taste. Prices for most everything except IMHO TAXIS are right up my alley. SHOES and BOOTS are cheap as hell. They even carry some imported brands for a 1/4 of the price in the states. Big sizes available. I am size 11. Look for a chain of stores in plaza cemaco (zona 10) or avenida sexta (zona 1) called COPAN. They have very cool work boots.
All in all guate is cool and there are deals to be had but not amazing. Still worth a trip though if you go to the outer areas.
By the way I went to 1 casa on 1 calle B in zona 1 but girls where equal to or just as unattractive as la linea and wanted 270 q for 30 minute session with BBBJ. Will check out some others. Got to run.

Yes san pedro is a backpackers haven. Not just drugs, inexpensive and not a bad stop if your traveling the area.. I have been fortunate to travel most of my life. I would have fit in here 30 years ago or today. (though in 91 when I was here san pedro wasn't safe)
Had some other post on the area and fat or ugly sounds like the picks. Don't care for either but going to do a scouting drinking trip to Pana tomorrow with a Canadian buddy who has lived around the world. Good brake from school anyway. been putting in about 7-9 hours aday leaning spanish and my brain is mush.
Cheers

Went to Le Club last night trying to see the gorgeous Anahi, unfortunately she was not there, maybe because it was a Monday Night. However, I think they still have the best selection of girls in the city. Visited another place (dont remember the name) good looking girls, but still Le Club is the best.
I Need help. If someone is a regular at Le CLub, hook me up with Anahi, I would like to get in contact with her again (I am living Guate today). I met her in 2004 when she was dancing under the name Heidii. Let me know if one of you brothers know her. If so, tell her that a friend from Los Angeles (me) wants to get in contact with her. Thanks

Posts: 43Visitante, thanks for your info
Hey visitante, thanks for your info. I hope she is doing well. I know she used to be the best pole dancer and did very risky tricks in the pole. I will get in Guatelama soon and hopefully meet her.
Thanks again.
