Arrived in HK on last Saturday night after 16-HR flight from Chicago. Got to my hotel in Jordan area, had dinner of noodles and dumplings, 75-min body massage, went back to shower. Happened to me many times in hotels inside the PRC, even the upscale hotels. Someone working in the hotel (security guard, concierge, front desk, ? Finds out there's a single man checked into a room. The situation you described is more like a group that solicit within a hotel. Most properties would frown on that type of behavior because guests would complain and police would eventually catch on. But I have been in situations like that whereby a lady would call me on the house phone, knock on my door, or make offers while passing me down a hall. I assume they had just finished a trick and was looking for another on the way out and possibly got a heads up from someone on the inside. Likewise, bartenders and concierge can help a guest out sometimes.
