No idea where to put this report so this is my best guess.

I think I know what happened; I had a similar problem when I was a new member here.

I guess you didn't tick the "Remember me" casket before you logged in. If you don't do that, then the forum will log you out automatically after 15 minutes. If you try to upload something after being logged out, then it obviously will not work, and the auto-save function cannot work either. I had lost two lengthy reports this way myself in the past, before I figured it out. Always tick the "Remember me" before logging in!
