Sure. I'm planning a trip to Germany, Paris, Belgium and Netherlands this winter and I went to several forums within the regions and asked questions.

How dareI:

- Ask opinions on where other mongers stay as a base camp when exploring the Gelsenkirchen AO clubs.

Trying to figure out where to stay.

Looks like Gelsenkirchen is the closest town to all of them, but also appears not much going on in that town (for regular nightlife / food etc).

Also appears a few other towns that aren't too far (less than 20 k).

- Essen.

- Duisberg.

- Oberhausen.

- Bochum.

- Dortmund.

Few of them (Essen) seem to have better hotels and more stuff going on. In case I can't hold out in the AO clubs non-stop.

Any suggestions? Looking for a city that has bit of nightlife, or at least a bit scenic.

Just don't want to stay in a storage unit ferrying myself back and forth to AO clubs without seeing anything else.

Near Frankfurt only Dietzenbach is a reasonable AO option, near Cologne much more choice (La Luna, Bernds, all RTCs like Romankita, Arabella, Villa Venus, F39, etc. , most closer to Dusseldorf in fact).

Also, I get the impression that this club likes to charge a high tourist price in the knowledge that most guys will pay it and won't try and haggle.

I also had a chat with Optimist and learned that feedback on the internet about this place was not overwhelmingly favorable. Girls allegedly were significantly older and not delivering all of the services as advertised or to an acceptable level.
