Trip to Grenada

Thought I'd get out of San Jose for a while, not for visa reasons, just to explore.

Took the TicaBus, C4200 = $9.50 ? Leaves early morning and at 12"30 pm. Comfortable seats that recline. 2 movies. Very, limited snacks and drinks = bring your own, including water. Long ride.

Supposed to arrive at 8"00 pm, but more like 9'00. I paid $1 for a taxi to Hotel Granda. Don't plan on walking.

So far the town is boring. Signed up for 4 days of Spanish lessons. Finished 2 days, then met Celia. Things might be looking up.

Tomorrow, she's going to meet me after class. Why does that sound so right?

Unless your into sightseeing for about a day and thats it, don't waste your time in Granada. It is true there are girls there but an hour more down the road and you are in Managua where they are better, cheaper and there is a lot more. SKIP GRANADA!!!

i recently spent a week in granada. i stayed at the hotel alhambra, paying $32 daily. there are many cheaper places in the $15 a day range, but they did not have air conditioning. this hotel is in the center of town, right across from the park. visitors are not allowed in room until 11pm unless you tip the doorman or sneak them in the side entrance thru the internet cafe.

women can be found all over the city, but you must put in a little effort. after 7pm the park gets a decent selection of young ladies. be careful as some appear to be ****. i ask their age [usually 19], then i ask for the year they were born. it is funny to see the response.some use sister's, mother's, etc cedula. the going price in the park appears to be 100-300 cordobas. presently there are 15.75 cordobas to a $us.

other action spots are: zoom bar,flamingo bar,el club,and disco cesar. the first three are located within 1-3 blocks of the park. the disco is located across from the lake, along with an entire street of bars and restaurants. prices go up in these upscale locations to 300-500 cordobas.

in all, i found the best selection at the disco on fri/sat nights after 8pm.cover charge of 10 cordobas,beer was 12 cordobas.

granada is a good place to go relax for a few days. it's a safe city,good food,prices are cheap.everything closed early, bars close at midnight during the week. most restaurants close at 9-10pm. if you keep in mind that this is not a world class destination, you will have a good time!

Hi,

Spent a couple of days in Granada. In the parc in front Hotel Alhambra is enough game. When it is not allowed to bring girls to your hotel room, ask for this complex of houses, with mirrors all over in the rooms. There's also another complex but without the mirrors. I'm sorry I forgot the names, but they are near the "beach" i.e. la playa of the lake.
