    Police Scam

Solid Gold was a joke and a dump years ago and now it even looks like a dump on the outside. If it's open, let us know how it is. I went there once for free with an offer from the management and it was still a waste of my time.

Maybe it is a cloud with a silver lining. If you like the clubs, I hope it is for your entertainment fun. It is close enough to where Hollywood was so the walk will be the same. At worst, it's closed, or open and a waste of time.

It is a lot more safe than these stories would lead others to believe so I don't think there's a lot of value in 6 year old unusual extortion attempts that others might think are likely today.
Actually, it happened to me once too, maybe 6-8 years ago. It was my first visit & I was staying in Bello Horizonte. I think the Hotel Don Carmelo before it became that name (pic on Agoda is familiar, not the name). I was walking the area and a young cop walked straight to me and asked me for some money - $5 or so I think. I told him I was a retired cop from the EEUU & he was corrupt & unprofessional in my basic spanish. Anyway, after about 20 minutes talking & finding out he earned $110 a month I voluntarily gave him a 100 C or so & said goodbye a mi hermano. He was quite happy & we chatted many times after that without issue.

    Just my 2 cents.

    / dddick.

Afterthoughts. Yes Solid Gold is useless as, IMO, Good Times. I had some problems with a chica at Club Cueto but the management made it right. Hard to argue with that. My only complaint there is they don't open until around 9. Any other decent bars out there like La Vida en Rosa & Azul Azul? Preferably where I can smoke my cigar (like La Vida en Rosa).

Also. Thinking about two things. Renting a car this time & visiting Granada. I'll be taking young newbie & he wants to visit Granada; I'm torn between going with him & just pointing the direction. We'll arrive this coming weekend for about a week. Comments?

Are any of the clubs couple-friendly? I won't have intercourse with the chica, but there are other options. Sex is reserved for wife only.

If we book at an auto-hotel, are there usually chicas nearby or on the property itself? We will only go in the daytime. Is there a particular auto-hotel with nice chicas on premise? Another question I have is about special requests, like pix. Of course, no faces. We just like souvenirs sometimes. Dunno how most of the girls feel about that. (I've seen some non-face pics on this site.).

I'm sorry if these are totally noob questions. I want to make sure we have a good time, but also a safe time. Any advice will be appreciated.
That was a scene I was never directly involved in but I knew one couple that was years ago. I'm sure it took some effort on their part to find working girls who were okay with this but I can tell you they never had a shortage of women, and most were quite attractive.

As far as attempting to find them near auto-hotels, I would advise against that. I think you would be better off trying to find partners in a strip joint. Tell the girls what you want and even if they are not interested, they can probably tell you if any of the other girls are.

Then again she could have been working extra hard for that US $300. There was nothing but locals in the club, and I can't see them paying these rates. In hindsight I feel that I was subject to gringo pricing.

To go back and try to renegotiate or venture elsewhere in the city, that is my dilemma now.

You must be the old man they told me about when I was there over the weekend. Funny how you are the only one I've ever heard about in the 5 years that I have been staying there, That Pablo said wasn't allowed back. He said this guy complained about evvverything. Always two sides to every story, right? I had great time as usual. Had 5 girls in four days. To each his own I guess. Topped it off Sunday, with a day at Luguna de Apoyo with 2 of my girls at a great place called La Abuela. I suggest you try it!

You can find there address & # in the hotels thread, but if not let me know. I will get the number for you. I will be returning in June, and bet your ass, I will be staying there.

    Hotel Pachelly

Does anyone know if Hotel Pachelly is still in business? I've tried several booking sites and for any date I specify, they all say that no room is available for that date. The Facebook page for Hotel Pachelly says to book online at hotelpachelly. online.com.ni but that doesn't seem to work, either. I have a reservation for Hotel the'Lido but that seems to be on the wrong side of the city for most of the places that appeal to me. Thanks for any info!

I usually like to try public transportation. It's a challenge, a little adventure, and does save a few pennies. But I see that it's not a good idea in Managua.

    Thanks!

Need your Spanish though. I've never seen one person with English in there, ever.
The only time I had a really good time in" Bad times", was when I brought in two girls with in with me. Should have seen the faces of the girls that work there when I put one of them on stage and kept tipping her while she was stripping. Don't think I made any friends in there that night. I'll probably be taking the same two in there this weekend. At almost 28 cordobas to a dollar, you have to be crazy to pay $150 to some chica for 30 minutes or what ever.

A couple of years back when I went, there was one girl that spoke English, she was from Belize.

Got all set to go to the room, I was prepared to pay the amount that I've seen posted around here (C $700/ half hour), but the cashier handed me a figure of US $120 or see $3240!

I sat back down with the Nica to talk about take out options: US $300 for 3 hours. I am sitting here now in my hotel, battle ensuing between the big head and the little head whether to go back to get her or not. I mean $300 is even high for tln in this part of the world imo. Since this is my first experience in Nicaragua I welcome any comments or advice that you guys may have.

    Thanks
