The most basic prepay phone start out at about 400 cordobas for either movistar or claro. Minutes range from 0. 15 I think to about 0. 30 on the prepay plans. Both companies have tons of promotions that will bring down your per minute charge down to about 2 cordobas per minutes (at least on movistar) if you talk a lot per day. They have days when they give you bonus on your recargas (reloads) of up to 5 times the amount spent plus there are special packages you can activate for short time for buckets of minutes and messages as well as WAP. You can purchase a phone for either company at the airport or for movistar at any ESSO / PUMA gas station. Reloads are widely availiable at all gas stations, pulperias, online, over the phone and even at ATM machines. The best exchange rate right now in granada is 23. 36 per dollar.
