I have been following this forum for a while. I've been to Nica a few times and I agree with everything that I've seen on this board. The first is that Fenix is a strange sh*thole, but if you stick around long enough you will find a few choice ladies. All that for a very low amount of Cordobas.

OK C$300 is less than $15 and C$200 is less than $10. So plus or minus C$100 is under five bucks. So just go and ask. The Fenix pricing seems to be pretty well set at C$300. I doubt that Morena is only charging C$200 for even 5 minutes since three years ago it was more than that by far. Like C$500 is more probable for other than a hug.

I went to Good Times once. I could not see 5 feet or hear anything and there were way too many chavalos for me to be comfortable so we left. YMMV. Also across the side street, e. G. The same side of the main road is Cueto Club, sort of offering the same thing. Probably easier to hear, certainly easier to see. If Good Times has rooms inside, and they probably do, I couldn't see them but really I couldn't see anything in there. Cueto Club does, Club Hotel Girls Hollywood (aka the old Vale Todo in Monsegnior Lozcano) does and has hands on private dances for about US$20. You are probably way better off at Morena or Fenix than GT.

Normally in nightclubs such as GT, CC or Vale Todo, if I want to partake I get numbers from the girls and then arrange something outside business hours vs. go indoors. The US$100 they want inside works out to $20 outside.

You only have directions because only about 10% of streets have names and nobody has an address, e. G. # 123 Chavez Avenue does not exist and never has.

Directions in Managua are from (landmark, possibly a landmark long long gone) so many cuadras (blocks) in some direction using al lago (towards the lake) for North, al sur for South, arriba for East and bajo for West (arriba / bajo where the sun goes up or down, e. G.). Then metres from a point if a partial cuadra and sometimes a colour or such of a door, parked car, tree, etc. It works, and you will get there.

That info now known, you would have to find a taxista who is on his first day. 14 years old and blind, and never lived in Managua to not know where all 3 of these places are. Fenix is so ubiquitous that it would not surprise me if it is now used as a (from) location in other directions. E. G. Donde a Fenix.

Anyway Morena is near SINSA in Altamira, you can see one from the other basically. Fenix is part of the Llantas Kelly complex close to the rotonda Santo Domingo and for Good Times just tell them it is al lado Cueto Club which has been there on the bypass for about 20 years. Al lado = beside. The bypass is the road that goes from (Metrocentro) to Rotonda Santo Domingo to Carretera Norte. But asking for Cueto Club will do the job. Negotiate the taxi price before entering, only enter a cab with a license plate and that it matches the painted on plate number on the side and trunk and never get in a taxi with two guys , e.g. driver and friend, and preferably get the hotel to visibly note the plate number when you get in. Insist on "exclusivo" e.g. do not share the cab with other passengers en route.

Get the taxista's cell number and say you'll call him when you want to leave. He'll come back. If you find a good one you can rent them exclusively for a few hours by haggling, I paid as little as C$120 an hour, $5.50 and they just wait and go where you like.

This sounds way more like worrying about the nth detail and trying to save pennies than going to have fun.

I assume you are fluent in Spanish, if not the proprietoress of Morena (Gina) speaks English and some of the girls there should since some come from Bluefields.

Don't board a taxi with people in it, two drivers, and insist on exclusive if you don't use the hotel taxi.

I am making a surprise (to me) trip to Managua with a colleague next week and have to do some quick intel gathering. I've been RTFF, but with the lack of good maps and directions available, I'm not quite sure of my bearings.

I'm going to have precious little time to get out and play, since I'll be in country with a very conservative colleague. My best chance will be when he goes to bed around 11 pm to slip out for 90 minutes or so to some place like Club Fenix or Caribbean Morena.

I think we are going to be staying at the Holiday Inn Select on Juan Pablo II. At least that is my best guess. Will I be able to accomplish my goal of getting a taxi to Club Fenix...going in...making the rounds...enjoying myself...and getting back to the Hotel in 60-90 minutes? Or am I kidding myself that stealth mongering will even be possible on this trip?
