About short time hotels, there shouldn't be a need to give any identity cards or anything at all. If that place is weird for some reason and insists on something, just go to another place. The short time hotels tend to be clustered together in the same area, so you usually don't have to go far to find another one. Right next door often.

WEre you the same guy who asked about LT or ST? I'm more a ST guy, but it's totally a personal preference for anyone. I just can't get a good night's sleep next to a stranger, so I don't do it. But I can understand the appeal for someone who is into it.

I never gave them my passport when I rent a room for only 1 or 2 hours. You only need to tell them that you want it for an hour or 2 and they will give you a room.

Those mini hotels are willing to take your drivers license? Well I guess its because you are renting the room for a couple of hours and not for a couple of days.

Give them your US driver license. If they loose that its not a big deal. But if they "lost" your passport or visa.

If you want to register with banhmy, probably easier to do it usin the Vietnamese version (the English one is messed up, as you're finding out now) but just translate using google translate (copy and paste). Takes a bit if time and patience but it's a one time thing.

Lately banhmy ads seem to usually include the phone number, so no need to register for those.

Even if you register you have to pay to see the phone number (of it's blocked) using a phone card.

Also, most girls on banhmy that have phone numbers blocked are also elsewhere on other websites that do show their phone numbers. If you find one you like on banhmy, and the phone number is blocked, try to do a search on the photo using google's image search. There's about a 80% chance that one is out there on another site with phone number included.

The way it works, the girl will SMS you with the address of her hotel and tell you to send her a message when you get a room, and she'll come up. In my experience, it's always a hotel of their choosing. These are normally quite cheap ST hotels, something like 70,000 or 90,000 for the room (for an hour).

I have no idea what the reactions will be if you propose that they come to your room. Is your Vietnamese good enough to explain that to her and answer any questions she has?

I did send a lot of sms to ladies on these sites. The big problem they probably will not understand is.

And they will send you an address of a short time hotel but if the send it in Vietnamese language your phone with English language will give something hard to understand. But a lot of them use the same hotel.

Once you have a good contact you can ask her if she has some nice friends.
