Yep, 1000 b a day plus expenses is the number.

In summer, there is generally rain every afternoon. Good if you hit the bars in the afternoon.

A bargirl just posted her birthday announcement on Facebook. And her bank account QR code on her Facebook, so lonely guys can send her money directly.

I guess her boyfriend needs money.

Anyone who wants to send her money, I will send you her QR code. Yeah, some guys will want to do that.

I am supposed to be arriving this weekend and it looks miserably hot over there hahaha. I live in Texas so I have had my fair share of "hot" temperatures but Thailand seems to be on another level.

Just today, I checked and Phuket was at a "Feels like 104 F" . Who would want to "walk around and explore" in that heat? Even the water around Phuket I imagine is boiling hahaha.
Indeed Thailand's is an oppressive climate. I don't like damp cold weather either of course, but humid stifling hot is no better in the long run. Thailand's weather used to be ideal when you could afford to rent a beach front bungalow on a paradise beach for months on end. Now Thailand's few clean (cleaned) beaches fetch absurd prices outside the rainy season.

When you rent a condo look out for good ceiling fans. The bed where you sleep should have a ceiling fan above it so that you can sleep without aircon. If the condo is not on a higher floor (14th floor and above), the French windows should be fitted with mosquito screens.

Yep. Know what your travel insurance covers. Many, if not most, travel insurance consider riding a motorcycle in places like Thailand a high risk activity that invalidates a regular policy. If it allows coverage it may specify that you need a motorcycle license in your home jurisdiction to not invalidate your policy. It may also have restrictions on things like the maximum cc your bike can be. Read and know your policy and don't assume you're covered.

I guess you can always purchase insurance from the motorbike rental store. Anyone ever had to make a personal injury claim on this type of insurance? Just curious.

By the way, I'm in the club that doesn't use the air conditioner in the day. I am on a rooftop here in Cambodia and I get a really nice breeze so I open up all the doors and windows and it's like living in the fresh air. Songkran is here. Pattaya is jammed with Thais from all over. Many bars are empty of customers. Some Farangs flee Pattaya for Songkran. And some are idiots, playing with water.

I am fleeing, going to Macau with a bargirl.

I am from the Houston area. I have found Thailand to have cooler nights than back home. So I do most of my exploring during the mornings and evenings and just rest during the afternoons.

Depends on your tolerance for heat. However, heat is only 1 factor. It's usually the humidity that gets to you in SEA. Just think of the hottest day in Las Vegas and add humidity to that. Ho chi Minh and Jakarta may say they're hotter than Bangkok but I can walk around all afternoon outside in Jakarta and HCM but I certainly can't in no wind Bangkok. "Do you mostly stay indoors during the day?" imo if you're doing Thailand right as a tourist you're awake all night and sleeping during the day. Order Grab or Line food for lunch. Get ready to go out around 7 pm. Rinse and Repeat. If you want to go out during the day there are pretty decent malls in Bangkok and Pattaya.

A photo a bargirl posted on Facebook, so I guess her Farang boyfriend doesn't mind.

I am posting it here for no particular reason.

A warning for the long term residents: there are ladies who don't use condoms because they are looking for a baby daddy. I had one last night, she was banging away with no condom, and then I remembered she already found one baby Daddy from China, and was probably looking for another. So it was a blow job after that.
