Yes, I find the same girls will do the same things at different times with me also. Even though I am still giving them the same 1000 THB.

Restaurants I like (In no particular order)

    Breakfast: I-rovers and Nest.

General: Taco Place in Tree Town Food Court, Prime Burger, Pier 21, MK, Sizzler, A la Turca, Bar-be-Q Plaza, Hops Brewhouse, Yakinku SAWA, Grillicious Lebanese, Sukiya, 1919 Lanzhou Beef Noodles, Ozawa Ramen, OHKAJHU. The BigC Supercenter food court.

Jomtien: Jomtien Night Market, Frasers, Hemingways, Friendly Burgers.

These are not the best restaurants in each category. These are my favorite restaurants that are go my goto places when I am not interested in eating Thai food. For me saying that you should only eat Thai Food while in Thailand is like saying visitors from India shout not eat Indian Food while they are here. Not even Thai people eat Thai food all the time. LOL!

    I-rovers

Arrived just a little after 8;00 AM. Breakfast is served 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Mine was 129 THB. Ten screens inside; 1 outside on patio. Playing: NFL (Live), NBA, USA College Football, Dog Racing, The Fight Game, Pool Table, Golf Group, Free Wi-Fi. Thai and Non-Thai food. Attentive wait staff. I would fuck each and every one of them in the their cute referee shirts worn like a mini dress and black booty shorts. That is if they were available for 1000 THB.

Margarita Storm is open 24 hours and they show USA football.

But for a 9 am start time, I'm flipping it on the computer while still in bed, and I only care about the Buffal Bills anyway.

A different perspective from the new poster and tourist

Is there a problem with that? As I have said before ISG is the only place I have every seen anyone bragging about how much they paid for anything. A serious consumer mentality that either assumes everyone is a two week millionaire or just has money they are willing to throw into the toilet. Now that being said, I only know about Pattaya. You define me as a Tourist. Correct? So how much exactly should I be spending on food on a trip you have defined as my "vacation"?

In Pattaya there are any number of places I can have breakfast (the type I like) from 160 - 169. Many of the places included coffee or tea and orange juice. I never drink Coke for breakfast or any other time. I do not even use it a mixer for alcoholic drinks.

Here is an interesting story: Very first breakfast I had was at a place in Pattaya near LK Metro called I-Rover. They have a excellent breakfast for 169. (Bhat or is it Baht?

I met a retired military man. We were sharing notes. We both started out living in the Dominican Republic. Then we both hit other countries before winding up in Thailand. We pretty much had the same opinion of the Dominican Republic in general. Neither one of us was feeling the culture. Now I still like the situation I have set up for myself in the Dominican Republic but I understand that it not for some people.

But the most interesting part is for some reason he shared the amount of money he had available monthly coming to him. Pretty much twice what I had. Yep, I'm just a poor tourist trying to get by (or am I). Yet, were were both in the same place, ordering the same breakfast for 169. Smart people look for value. Can I get a witness my ISG Brothers?

It does not boggle mine as I am not myopic in my world view. 1. Not everyone comes here (Thailand) from a long way away. 2. Some people do not need to come onto ISG and run down others on how much money they spend. 3. Most of the people I know in Pattaya or all over the world do not post on ISG.

The sample group you are using to draw your impressions is flawed. People in real life that I meet on the (Bhat or is it Baht) mini bus are quick to start up a conversation no matter where they are from. They are happy. They share with me good things that are going on in their life in Pattaya. I love that about this place. It reminds me of Las Vegas. Where everyone you meet on the strip or downtown is on vacation and happy Cannot say that the same atmosphere exists on ISG. A lot of arguing and attitudes get displayed up in here. But like I said before: To each their own.

I only had two incidences where individuals (Who were original pussy colonizers) took umbrage with where I was from. I dispatched them with with haste. They must have been having a bad day or a tough vacation.

    But lets talk about skimping

You are making an assumption that people are trying to spend less money or they are price sensitive. Perhaps they are just eating what it is they want. Did that thought ever cross your mind?

I hope you don't think 2000 is a lot of money. It is not for me. I don't really like hotel buffets. I prefer the ones where you order what you like as you go and the food comes to your table to have it cooked or your order it as you go and it is brought out to you.

Damn, that is an elitist attitude shared by some of the most popular posters here in the Pattaya thread. I have been compared to a "poor Thai" more than once. What is the point of spending money just because you can spend it. Now if you can only get what you want by spending a lot of money by all means do it. My girlfriend (I guess she is a poor Thai) has taught me how to get off the "Tourist" economy. The statement is laughable to me! How can someone who lives here no know that there are "two economies" in each and every country that is popular with tourists?

Yes, I do want to limit myself. Why? Because there are health issues involved with "gorging" myself on fabulous food. Personally I find myself with a desire to focus on non vice items (tourist mentality right?) Food is one of those vices to avoid. Limits involve eating healthy during the week and enjoying the weekends. No problem dropping 10000 over the weekend with my girlfriend (defined as Friday and Saturday because we chill on Sunday as she has to goto work on Monday) to do what I / we like to do. We goto our favorite restaurants and do our favorite activities to our hearts content. I got a half dozen places that I like that will cost us 2000 to get out the door. But it is good food.

1000 for us (my girlfriend and I). I like that place. But there is another in that style that gives much better value and comes in at 700 - 800. Why? Because my girlfriend has an "affinity" card and gets us a discount when we eat there. It is one of our favorite places.

I am at an advantage. When I ask my girlfriend "What do you want to eat?" she says: "Thai Food". So, I do not have to ask her anymore. She says: "I will eat anywhere with you". So when it is time to eat she asks me: "What do you want to eat?

One of the big advantages is that many restaurants here also serve Thai food. It has to meet both of our requirements to get a repeat. We have two restaurants we agree on completely that do not serve Thai food. One is a Japanese steak house where the Wagau is of high quality (2000) and the other is a Lebanese restaurant that serves us enough food that we always have to take it home and give one more meal (1500). Only 1500. What a bargain!

And all the Japanese food everywhere; do you want to avoid that for a $10 rice limit like a backpacker?
I am a foodie. I'll skip the chicken bones (but I'm good with my sticky rice as it is one of my favorites). Got no use for seafood. Fried foods are bad for my health.

If you have to go to a Food Court and don't mind the $$ hit, I like the one in Siam.
Once again, I disagree with this perspective, but my reference point is Pattaya. Foodland is one of the best supermarkets in Pattaya. I make a special trip there to Terminal 21 to re-up on the things I like. Especially the meat counter.

Oh yeah, did I mention that as a tourist (or am I) I cook for myself and my girl friend cooks for me too. LOL!

Now Tops is expensive as fuck food wise and so is their Food Court compared to Pier 21. But they have excellent values on bottles. Still Foodland has a WAY better selection of Bourbon (John Wick style). In fact, that is what I am sipping on while writing this, Jim Beam Black Extra Aged. 1250/700 ML 43% ABV; with Schweppes Dry Ginger Ale (in the red can), 330 ML 16 - 18/ can depending on where you buy it. You see high ABVs hold up better in mixed drinks allowing the flavor to come through in a bold fashion. On ice of course. Everyone likes what they like.

I save money by buying bottles and and drinking in the room. Mix up my drinks myself. I was taught that by my girlfriend and we would do that with her girlfriends and then she would let me pick the one I wanted for the threesome for the night. What fun. I guess there are some advantages to living a s poor Thai after all.

This all occurred by accident. Not really fan of the bar scene and not into bar fining girls. In fact I never have. Surprised why people are always talking about their bar experiences and then asking if the Commander would like the girls they do.

Not a matter of wanting to save money. I eat what I want. Not one of those to judge someone over how much they paid for something. I am actually more impressed by those who can get what they want for less. Almost all problems can be solved by throwing money at them. I'm more interested in the solution that involve thinking outside the box and getting value.

Met a guy that told me that he rented a perfectly serviceable room for 3500/ month. I was impressed. He lived up in north Pattaya and I am not interested in living there. Met a bolt driver that told me he lived in a room that cost him 100/ night. Fascinating!

The best value on fresh produce are the "markets". I live within walking distance of one. It is where all the Thais shop and the smart "tourists?" such as myself. There is also fresh meat and seafood available. And various sundries and household items. DIY is also excellent for things you need around the house. You can find them in many locations in Pattaya.

Terminal 21 the food court is Pier 1. Huge number of food choices and my girlfriend and I can both have "two foods" as her expression goes and get out of there for 200 - 300 with soft drink fro her water for me and dessert. So much for it being over priced (are you kidding me). It is our goto place when we are on the street.

Here in Pattaya it is packed with Thai people fueling up to keep shopping until they drop and all us are enjoying the food. She also takes me to Thai food courts outside of Terminal 21.

She takes me to Thai clubs where you can buy a bottle at the club or bring your own bottle. We drink to our hearts content and get out of there at the end of the night for 1000 - 1100 and that is with ordering food. Try that on Walking Street. The Thai food so hot it leaves my stomach churning and blowing fire out my ass when I get on the toilet to shit! Most unbecoming for a gentlemen such as myself.

There is a food court right next to Soi 6. I have been there two times and have gotten sick after eating there both times. I will not be returning to eat there anytime soon. Jomtien Night Market is excellent. Never gotten sick on the food I have purchased there. There is a market right down the street from where I live that my girlfriend hits when she is coming over and does not want to cook. She does not even have to ask me. She knows all my favorite foods.

Not bad for a tourist, eh?

This pretty much sums up my philosophy on spending in general. My entire life (since I left my parents house) I have lived on the "wrong side of the tracks". I live with working people. I do not flaunt what I have. I share what I have and they share with me. It has given me a much more interesting life than the sterile one that can be bought with those that have money money like that. Do not get it twisted. If I had money like that I would live the exact same why they do. I have been asked why I live as I do by my friends and family. They say that they know I can afford better. I'm just one of the those people who prefer to have friends in high places but live with my friends in low places.

As I have said in many a post, I have no problem with someone that has it and is willing to spend it to get what makes them happy. But I choose not to (because I do not have it, I'm poor) and I am still happy.

Why does anyone have a problem with that?

I like my breakfast and their are plenty of restaurants that serve a good one. Nest on Soi Diana and I-Rover on LK metro are some of my favorites. Both are close to 169. Seems like that price is play on something. Very close to Terminal 21 is a great German restaurant that has 295 special with more food than you should eat in one sitting for 295. Korean BBQ, Thai BBQ, Chinese Noodles, Japanese Ramen place with an hour wait on the weekend now that it is high season. So much for the people who say high season is not ramping up. Used to always be able to just walk in a get a table.

There are great hamburgers here and French Fry's. In fact, there is a place that serves a great hamburger with chips. They serve three different versions (chicken, vegetable and beef). One of which is Australian beef. Australian beef is far superior to beef from the (Dis) United States of America. If you go on Tuesday their burgers are on special. The place is right on a baht bus line in Jomtien.

At Terminal 21 there is Pier 1. Nothing wrong with that food court. My girlfriend and I eat there all the time. It is are fall back place when she does not want to cook. But her preparation of Thai food is far superior to any Thai restaurant I have eaten in since I have been here. She makes a soup that I like with WAY more flavor in it than the same type I order from Pier 1.

There is a Japanese Beef Bowl place right next to Pier 1 that if off the mother fucking chain good. They also prepare their bowls with Australian beef and pork. The meat melts in your mouth.

I'll make a note of some of these eateries.

For western food I usually go to the Tops dining area at CF, nestled in between the food court and the Tops grocery store. I like eating at those bar stools and you can have a nice meal for around $10, and good view for people watching. The beef lasagna, mashed potatoes and grilled veg make for a nice meal.

As far as burgers, I just stick to Prime, always good and consistent quality.

Right by the Prime Burger a new eatery called Santa Monica Diner had opened just a week before I left Pattaya, it was always dead, I'm guessing it doesn't last long.
