I met several nice "mature" ladies on the Internet. I was looking for ladies from mid-30's to late-40's. I chatted with a crapload, and met several. All were nice. They want to get on LINE immediately and start chatting. At one point today, I had two on LINE, another on SKYPE and another chatting at me on the TF website, all while trying to respond to messages from others who were offline. It was stressful to be honest, but they were the ones initiating the chat. It was like a feeding frenzy of goldfish in a Koi pond (really, that was the image that actually came into my head.) Heck, I might be disabling my account at ThaiFriendly, less than a week after paying for a full, premium membership. One of them, is already talking like she is my next wife! Yes it does sound odd that they are fixated on light skin. Another poster here commented recently on how he picked up an Isaan girl in a club and she apologized for her dark skin. Personally, I like the caramel skin.

As others have said, the Thais are in love with white skin. You'll note that many Thai contestants in international beauty contests aren't all that pretty (IMHO) but have very fair skin. My GF is more "honey" colored, or, in Mexico she would be morena clara. But she always jokes about her being black and me being so very white. And I don't tan much, but when she goes into the sun she turns 2 or 3 shades darker instantly. She's not too happy about that.

However, cultural modesty plays a big part. Go to a beach in Myanmar, for instance. All of the local ladies are covered from head to knees. Not only do they want no sun tan, but prancing around in a bikini is just not done in some cultures.

In my case, my GF considers tattoos to look "dirty. " She is death on them. I have met others who feel much the same. But, I made myself clear in my profile that I am not out to get married again having just gottne out of a marriage. It has not scared too many of them off.

Yes, "older" ladies, widows, single moms, etc. , have a difficult time finding a Thai husband. All Thai men seem to want to marry a young virgin, or some such. They don't seem to be exactly Don Juan in bed, either. One lady, who had been divorced for quite some time, confessed, after a rousing time in the sack, that she had never had an orgasm with her husband. He just did his business and rolled over. The point is that many farang have a reputation for being more "considerate" in the sack.

Farang men also have much less of a problem raising other peoples' kids. I've seen that not only in Thailand but in Mexico, and other places as well. Many have told me that a farang / gringo makes a better husband for this reason.

Amerasian kids may have had problems in hard-line communist places like VN (not sure if that's still true there today), but certainly not in Thailand. I think everybody here has had some girl ask about having his baby in order to get a blue-eyed, big-nosed kid. He'll be the next pop sensation, or something like that. My point is that many famous Thais have a farang parent. Having mixed-race kids with a Thai certainly doesn't appear to be an issue.

The age gap is interesting. All of the women I met wanted an "older" mate, usually because an older man is more experienced and can "teach" the lady something (for lack of a better expression). However, rarely did that age gap extend beyond 15 years, or so. I noted that girls from more modest origins (read poor Isaan girls) tended to be OK with a larger age gap. Middle-class ladies with their own careers tended to want smaller gaps. The younger the girl, the smaller the gap. As Goat said, these days girls in their early 30's tend to prefer guys no older than about 40.
