Like you, I am surprised how popular McDs, KFC, Pizza Hut, now Taco Bell, etc. are with Thais. I was also struck by how many pastry, bread, donut, cake and cookie shops thrive in Thailand when I moved here several years ago. On my earlier visits 25-30 years ago I don't recall Thais being into that kind of food.

The place that really surprises me is Swensen's ice cream. Those are all over the place and really popular. Even during the big fat free yogurt craze, Swensen's extremely fattening real ice cream was more popular in Thailand.

Things that are attractive to Thais, Americans, and the rest of the world.

Seems to be true for Americans and Thais but not for me and not for my country (I guess). How much money a girl had or earned never concerned me.

I don't think the amount of money a girl has is of much interest to American men. I mean, other than guys looking to scam her out of her money. Otherwise, I have never met or talked to an American man who was sexually attracted to a woman because she was rich, if that is what you meant by "being attractive." Of course, that can often be the case with American women being attracted to men because they are wealthy.

About 20 years ago when I met my Thai girlfriend in the USA who then became my wife, she was never interested in desserts and sweets. She said it was not popular in her country, which matched my impression of Thailand at the time. She remained slim all her life and, at 54 years old today, is still slim. Which can not be said for many Thai women of that age here in Thailand these days.

Things that are attractive to Thais, Americans, and the rest of the world.

1. Wealth is a high part of being attractive.

Seems to be true for Americans and Thais but not for me and not for my country (I guess). How much money a girl had or earned never concerned me.

2. Skin colour. Americans and some other countries love to get tanned. Thais hate it, and most of Asia is trying to have white skin.

Too much sun and too little are both not healthy. I just don't care if the girl is somewhat white or somewhat brown. Maybe don't go for extremes.

3. Surgeries. I read that 17.9% of the world's cosmetic surgeries are in USA. 10% in Brazil. High in Thailand too, but low in my country.

Can this be part of the reason, that obvious unnatural shape surgeries disturb me? Perhaps they are more acceptable to Thais and Americans.

I notice that even porn has a lot of surgeries girls, but I prefer to avoid that unless the surgeries are not very noticeable.

4. Americans are supposedly obsessed with being slim, but the reality is they are more obsessed with junk food and eating too much and antibiotics (upsetting the gut function), too much beer, resulting in, Obesity, Insulin resistance and all the associated diseases. I think their are almost two distinct categories. The normal sized people (with control or lucky metabolism) and the grossly overweight (out of control). In my country there are far more in between people, somewhat overweight to fat, but not so many massively obese (yeh some of course). Thai girls seem to be letting themselves get fat once they are married since many years ago, but these days even the teenage Thai girls are getting fat from bad diets. I am attracted to quite skinny girls ranging to below average size, but not to blubber. Even I could get sex from fat girls in the past, I was not interested. I try to maintain a more healthy diet myself, which means more veg, and low sugar / starch. In 2015 there was a comedy movie "Spy". It was totally cringe worthy for me, because the female lead was not only very fat, but an accident disaster area with zero brain. It seemed unfortunate, in fact so bad, that I could not actually watch it. I greatly preferred Rowan Atkins as a spy and I could watch it. Was it purely that he was skinnier? Maybe there was some other reason, like the script being somewhat less brainless.

It amazes me that Bangkok has successful McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut, etc. Not sure why people want to eat such junky food. Thais are also eating a lot noodles with fish balls or beef balls. I don't touch that stuff, nor French Fries etc. I have levels of food control to avoid stacking on the kilos too fast. I like to live longer too, so some control is needed (in my case).

I know others don't find skinny girls at all attractive and particularly want big tits. Indians like voluptuous girls, right? Not for me. I can take big naturals on a slim girl okay Ha ha. Quite rare.

It is an app that allows you to communicate with each other, much like wechat, very easy to use, better than facebook, you creat you own ID, then you add others as friends, can text, chat, call, and video call as well.

But I harbor a superstition about friendly side bets on important matters like election outcomes and the USA Economy. Oh, yeah as I recall you wanted to bet that we would see 3%+ annual GDP growth every year or every quarter for a few years or something like that after Trump passed his brilliant (joke) tax bill, right? I would have won money on that bet if I'd taken it. The first and likely best GDP growth year since that deficit-busting legislation was passed, 2018, came in at 2.9%, the same rate we saw in 2015 under Obama and without his adding $2 Trillion+ to the deficit to buy it.

But my reason for not taking the bet then applies to your new proposal; Not interested in betting on election outcomes and things like that. If Trump is appointed president again, how does that prove his results were better than anyone's including Obama's? Obama won twice and with a clear majority of the vote each time. So?

But it's interesting how Trumpsters can never show how his policies' economic results matched much less surpassed those of his predecessor while their guy has spent years telling us how disastrous everybody elses results were but his are the greatest of all time. You would think it would be easy to do that unless their guy has been lying his ass off about those things and his Trumpsters have fallen for it.

You will not be nearly as rewarded by what you will most certainly discover when or if you do a side by side comparison for any reasonably similar timeline between the Obama administration and the Trump administration for key economic metrics like private sector jobs creation, GDP growth, the trajectory of the unemployment rate, stock market gains and so on.

On a more positive note for you and others re Trump's chances in 2020, mainstream media and especially financial media are typically too lazy to delve into those critical details and are instead apt to merely parrot the recommendation that Trump ought to be talking about "his" very good economy instead of tweeting all his nonsense as though the still good conditions coasting along on the blood, sweat and hard work Obama, Pelosi, Reid and other Dems put into it in years past has much of anything to do with what he and his GOP have done without even bothering to flash a simple 10 year chart on the screen that would pretty much destroy that pro Trump election spin.

Trump will never be able to match much less surpass the dramatic trajectory inflection in the unemployment rate that ocurred after Obama's first policies were put in place by the end of 2009. And then there was that deep decline in it from 2013 to 2016. Nothing like either of those decline trajectories has occurred under Trump.

BTW, since my thought waves are now focused on a girl and where to take her when we are in BKK: on one of my last nights in town last June, I took Mini to Kinnaree by Vanessa WU for an elegant dinner. This was based on your recommendation. We both really liked the place - both the ambiance and the food. I ordered a glass of Thai red wine from Hua Hin provence and surprisingly it was very good. I would order it again.
