Are most of these places new? I've always been a creature of habit and stuck to Villa Saverios back in the day. When I hooked up with the ex we didn't have much money to she was happy just going to get tacos so we didn't explore many new places.

I have heard that the culinary scene in Valle de Guadalupe is great but doubt most are willing to make the drive.

Animalon is pretty new. Caccio maybe within the last 3 or 4 years. The remainder have been around for years and years.

Animalon was OK with seating under a large tree. Great service with wine pairings, but food was meh. Loved the dessert. Mission 19 is similar with chef tasting menu. Both places were 5-6 courses that offer wine pairings and usually end up with a $200 + bill. I will have to try Lorenza.

A great ceviche joint is off blvd fundadores called desde Navalato or something similar, not sure exact name. Lion fish is good as well. For steak I prefer Bodega 8, but haven't been to El grill. Another good steak place is on New Plaza among the various other small restaurants. I don't recall the name, but it was expensive. I have more restaurant reviews, but don't get on here as often. Enjoy the food!

Go to Paseo Chapultepec, there are 3 good high end restaurants on the second floor. Also parking.

I love the carts in Zona Norte and Tacos El Franc, but if I'm looking to impress friends (who have no connection to the mongering life) with living the high life in Tijuana at cheaper rates, where would you go?

Caesar's with its history? I imagine a steak house or sushi place would probably be the best bet since those places are traditionally spendy, but my friends are seafood people too. I'm looking for super-clean-type places, a little Montezuma's revenge would cause them to be not as impressed.

I had someone say La Posta was pretty good, but. The WWW page didn't convince me.

Wasabi looks way better.
