In the evenings I am mostly at the HK club.

And I get very very tired exhausted.

I never have a large enough chunk of time to go out far for a long meal.

My daytime is sex / rest mostly so I can't add 2 hrs for lunch.

I am not willing to give up time in the club or walking around the streets to enjoy the vibe in the evenings. So long dinner is out.

I eat in some local authentic dives (8056 Primera & fish tacos stall near playboy club, etc) -awesome food that is inexpensive.

At lunch I often get two meals so that I can snack in my room later in the evening with the leftovers.

Wonder how you guys manage to go miles away and have a long meal?

I have also never been able to free up enough time to justify a trip to the Tijuana beach.
The Azul restaurant is on the first floor of the Cascadas hotel. Scan menu to phone from the bedside table in the room. I like the chicken menu with beer is around $ 10 a meal.

I understand that many of you want to have food closer to American food and that makes sense for you.

When I am in Mexico I like to eat authentic Mexican food. No way will I go out of my way to have pizza.

I eat excellent Mexican food within the zona.

    La Perla and other restaurants

La Perla has a small seafood menu, clam, oyster, raw shellfish not as fresh as street carts, serving portions are small, prices high, and the extremely loud bands just kill the whole thing. Shabby locals would take their old, ugly women dining, then dance to that loud music.

We have been going to the shop on Constitucion next to hotel Irma for raw oyster washed down with beers. The guy is a son of the old mariscos man on Ninos next to HK's tacos stand. He keeps all our unique condiments and preferred beer brands in the fridge. Large oyster about 75 cents, shrimp coctele $7.

At the corner of Ninos and Call 2 cathedral plaza, Mariscos Choforo serves seafood dishes, tacos enchiladas, fresh, delicious and cheap, worth a short walk. It has a good following so ingredients are fresh. The other restaurants around the plaza are not so fresh or good.

Msriscos Titos on Maderos and Calle 6 has a large menu with fish tacos, fried fish ect, fresh, delicious and very reasonable priced. I would stop here for a quick lunch before heading to the bars.

Would like to find a good combi steak and seafood places not too far from downtown, or I would just have to hit the AYCE Korean and Brazilian BBQs which have no seafood.

Before Covid I took a Uber which was cheap back in the day. I even took a bus to the beach just to get the experience, but found them to be near death trap roller coasters with the way the bus drivers drive in Tijuana. Nowadays I continue to eat at La Pearla a lot, despite the pesky live band. Also the couple of restaurants near the church. After all, the Zona Norte is only 2 blocks from the Northern end of Downtown where there are tons of restaurants to choose from.

I ordered the Brocheta Mixta (res and pollo) on a bad of rice, w a green salad, baked potato and tortillas. Big chunks of beef and chicken off a stick w green onions. Very filling, good stuff.

A shout out to the Hotel Nelson Torta Especial. Big torta. I could only eat half and took the other half back to my hotel room. Carne asada, ham, cheese, an egg, w lettuce, tomato & onions. It was a super torta.

Had paella meal at El Arte restaurant. Fettuccini at Guiseppis. And the snack hooch El Doraditos makes great fish and shrimp tacos.

Weather in Tijuana was not good. Cloudy and overcast, windy and cold. Not much sol. Till my next trip in Tijuana. Out.
Just good to see an OG like you still going strong. Much respect.

We went to Dublin's bar and restaurant last night with live band that was pretty good. She turns into a whole other person when drunk so not sure if she'll change. The bar food was average bar food, but entertainment was great. My ears still feel like they are ringing.
Oh, Dublin's is still open? Haven't been there for ages. I'm glad they survived Covid.

I went to Farmers Table in New city complex for breakfast and the omelette, French toast, and breakfast burrito were good and large portions. Pricing is similar to USA, service was good, and nice overall restaurant.
I went to Negro Durazno a few years back. An American Mexican guy had a massive heart attack and died on the floor of the restaurant. I was kinda traumatized and never went back.

I don't think most on this board would want to put up with the music at this place. Especially if you get a table by the stage. I tried it once and don't remember being all that impressed but I'm not a huge mariscos guy. I think a place like Los Arcos is good. Also liked to take a day trip to Ensenada for mariscos just to get away from Tijuana.
