What's a good spot with a sunset ocean view in playas de Tijuana?

Any advice is always and much appreciated amigos!

I like Black Dog Cafe. It has nice soft music, sofas, indoor / outdoor seating, etc.

On both sides there a multiple coffee shops. You are sure to like one of them.

This area has more Americans & feels very comfortable since. Vs a block north where the locals hang out and that's a different type of good vibe.

SD corporate greed takes over New City Plaza with The Farmer's Table BUT the EATS are too good to pass up.

Case in point:

Prosciutto Pizza.

Andouille Sausage.

Fries.

Salad.

Had good times with Cajun shrimp and New England clam bakes, very messy but delicious, with friends and families in the areas of lakes Charles and Pontchartrain. Relatives got all wiped out during Hurricane Katrina. I was on a cruise ship in the Gulf of Mexico when Katrina was heading to shore, but sky was clear, ocean calm, no wind, did not see anything unusual. The next couple days the storm hit the East Coast, all airports were closed, a very rare event.

I was making Cajun with live crawfish shipped up from the South. Washed them 5 times, the water was still brown with mud. Suck on the head and they tasted like mud. Don't understand why people like crawfish. I think they live immersed in the mud of river estuaries, so are all muddy. I prefer shrimp and lobster, cleaner with more meat. I always suck on the heads, very creamy and tasty.

After CoVid, there are no more buffet in So Cal with AYCE raw oyster, only in expensive Las Vegas casinos. If the bros know of any in So Cal, would appreciate the tip. We have been eating shrimp and clam coctele from the Mariscos Paisano guys at the School Girls corner, fresh, tasty, delicious washed down with Mexican beers. Or at the Mariscos Que LE Damos on Constitucion. They charge 75 cents to $1 for each oyster and $2. 50 to $30 for the big clam.

Growing up in Lake Charles, LA my family regularly cooked "BBQ shrimp" which involved 2 pounds of head-on shrimp we had caught that day, 1 pound of butter, a couple lemons, some salt and a shit ton of black petter, a cast iron skillet, enough cayenne to get your neighbors attention, and a baguette.

Crazy good but don't wear your Sunday best.

You're speaking my language man. I've done a lot of fishing in Louisiana for many tasty fish (redfish, specks, flounder, sheepshead, tripletail, yellowfin, amberjack, snapper, etc) and eaten at many restaurants during my trips. BBQ shrimp done right is about as good as food gets.

Tijuana Shrimp:

Good tasting if you can get the shrimp clean. After 3 I gave the fuck up and left After paying. I was pissed off.

They do zero prep. This shit will be all over your clothes, seat, and wall by the time you are done. You will pay more for dry cleaning than your meal.

Bathing suit and sandals only.

Dumb fucking idea. Nice Cajun spices. Fairly priced IMO.

Had dinner at El Rodeo and it was not that great. It came out to $100 or 2 k peso and the only thing decent was their ribs (costillas). The service was good, but micheladas were tiny. I would suggest other steak houses, but some could cost double compared to El Rodeo. Also went to TJ Shrimp which is Cajun broil like you'd find in a LA seafood 🦞 broil with crawdads and such, but I'm not sure if they have craw dads in Tijuana. I got the 1 kg with shrimp, mussels, corn, and potatoes. It came out to $70. Food was ok, but tastes better at Mr. Cajun. At least TJ Shrimp didn't give me the runs like Mr. Cajun did. I know TMI, but full transparency.

Casa De Coronado Café. I having ate breakfast here several times and they never disappoint. They serve a large selection of American and Mexican breakfast item and close at 1 pm. Got there with 2 other bros about 2 PM Monday for lunch. There was no wait; the place was pretty much empty, got seated immediately.

We ordered rib eyes, arrachera skirt steaks, shrimp, pork, thick bacons, pot sticker, kimchi, salad, rice ect, washed down with cold beers. The meats were delicious hot off the grill, better than Brazilian BBQs as the meats there tend to get cold between servings.

We each had 2 rib eyes among other meats. One bro decided to have 2 more for himself. Came out about $20 a head, well worth the money. Avoid dinner time on weekends as the wait can be 2 hours.

It's the restaurant associated with Bar Tropical, on the first floor North of the bar, looking over the sexy and newly-remodeled bar see & G, allegedly having lots of hot young girls every night.

I came down early 8 AM for breakfast. The place was nice, clean, quiet with a couple chicas were already eating and flirting.

Ordered a omelet ranchero for 115 pesos plus a cafe Americano 45 pesos. The omelet was huge, half a plate full, filled with ham and cheese, delicious, served on a heated plate with grilled potato wedges and beans. Coffee was strong, unlimited refills.

The head waitress was nice, attentive. She brought out hot tortillas. I should have asked for white toasts, but it was already too much for me. Gave her a good tip, made her smile. The omelet is better, coffee stronger than Azul's, and I did not have to walk up the stairs, but Azul's has a far bigger menu.

La Perla was close. I did not see anyone in it day or night. Too bad.

Today, Azul restaurant closed during the night, and won't open until. 8 am. I don't know if this happens during the week, because the restaurant seems to open 24 hours on weekends.

I am kind of on Thailand time, so 6 am is dinner time for me. Bummer.
