    Don't believe the stereotypes

Spent more than a month in whole of Thailand including Pattaya and I do not see any racism against Indians specifically.

This is hyped mostly by other race of guys who are a minority in shear number and see it as a threat due to their personal bias.

Entire western world is caught in some sorts of "white supremacy" movements.

Indians are among the largest tourist contingent in Thailand and you are a VIP there.

There is a racial mix balance that the bars try to achieve or a hooker has a preference for a certain race of males.

This mostly due to a client in the past of a certain race mis-treating her etc.

Hookers like money. Flash money and show off.

If you are blocked entry into a club, bribe 50 or 100 bhat to the security and they will let you inside. And buy drink or get a table dance to encourage the bar owner.

Majority of the Indians visiting are rich. There is also small proportion of blue collar and workers from India on a small budget.

Compared to most old western tourist, the Indians spend more money overall.

Also the Thai people running the sex clubs or hookers are not the best of citizens to get offended due to their racial preference.

Be sensible and leave your emotions behind.

Never let anyone mistreat you or put you down as a race or from a specific country.

Standup, pushback and tell him Thai or English to show respect if he wants respect.

Never get into any fighting match in a foreign country.

The only place I Got hassled and ripped was clubs like "Nasha" or "Tony's" by the Uzbekistan and other 'stan' middle aged hookers that were 30+. Give them shit and put them in their place if they mistreat you.

Thai women as a whole where mostly gentle and lower priced.

But then the Indian men will need to live behind their childhood, Bollywood fetish for white women and Persian looking light skinned big nosed women.

So to all you Indian men.

    Standup to your kind.

Have self respect and don't take shit from anyone.

You are not inferior in anyway or being racist to you. They are isolated incidents.

Loosen up on your white fetish. Fuck them if you get them.

But don't ignore the beautiful cheap Thai women.

And above mingle and marry out of your race when get a chance. Don't act exclusive.

I am happy to report that my friend has not had any issues with entry to any of the numerous Walking Street and LK Metro gogo bars, whether he was with me or on his own. He was also treated well by the girls but note he is not a Cheap Charlie.

Thailand is one of the few countries that has Visa on arrival for Indians so it attracts a lot of visitors with limited incomes who land up at go-go bars and the like for window-shopping instead of buying even drinks, let alone what's on offer. Needless to say, they waste the business time of the go-go bars which is why many either ban them outright or charge them an entrance fee to "test" their ability to pay. In addition, many WG's specifically state on their web-pages that they don't want to be with Indians so it also leads me to believe that either they cheap out with them or annoy them in some other form. So I doubt it is just stereotyping.

I have a dark skinned East Indian friend visiting me soon. He mainly wants to go to gogo bars. Which Walking Street and LK Metro gogo bars currently have no restriction for East Indian guys? He doesn't mind being turned away at gogo bars but I'm trying to save us time since his trip is short.

+1 to that. Me and my buddy were once turned away from Nana and that made us feel bad.

I have visited this country 5 times so far and my accent and fair look gets me inside most of the places. Sometimes they ask and I don't say I am from India.

However, I'm not really looking for Indian men when I walk in to the club. I am reporting what I have seen with my own eyes.

I haven't seen them all times I visited Sensations. Like yesterday, the club wasn't that busy and it was mostly Asians and later on groups of white guys came in, but no Indians.

But on Friday before week of Christmas was when I saw the Indian guy, and on previous visits I have seen groups of them in there. Once I even saw a group that included an Indian couple.

I notice these things because, as you know, Indians seem to be unfairly stereotyped and maligned when it comes to gogo's in Thailand.

On the agogo side of things in Pattaya, I would highly recommend Sensations on Walking Street for Indians.

I see them in Sensations all the time with no issues.

On one visit, there was this one persistent Indian fellow. By persistent I don't mean in a negative way, but someone that doesn't let a few bumps bother him. He wanted to buy a drink for one girl on stage, but she refused him. But he eventually found a girl that would go with him and he barfined her (a hottie by the way).

    Bangkok for one night!

    Hello,

I would be having a one night stop over at Bangkok in the last week of April and would be staying mostly at Hotel Amari Watergate.

Would be coming in the early morning from Koh Samui and my return flight is at 7 pm on the next day.

Would really appreciate if anyone can give some advice so that I can hope to soak in as much fun as possible. I would definitely wish to sample a mix of the massage parlors / go-go bars in the short time that I have.

This would be my first time in Bangkok.

    Many thanks,

    Mark

    Great Tips

    Hi Vivek,

I just came across this forum, its good that this forum was created to help many of us get info to visit Thailand. In fact, the subject of the forum must be changed. We just need to delete the word "Indians", as these advises and tips can apply to any nationality visiting Thailand.

I have given you most of the tips on PM. You just need to collect the best info from all the tips you got, and head to Thailand.

OR you can, screw the tips, just go with the flow, Thailand is very easy to explore, and people are helpful. Just like some senior mentioned below, google would be your best friend, as most of the tips we give, is our experience, you can either learn from them, or create your own experience.

Do not research too much, as you may get confused when you're in Thailand. Things might have changed in reality.

    Here are some tips again;.

    1. Carry Dollars. There's this online site called Travellex, where you can book your dollars in advance depending on the best conversion rate you get for that particular day. So keep watching the site, and book your dollar as per the best rate you get, and collect the money later; that way you can ensure you get good value for your INR.

    2. Book your hotels online, use a credit card to make payments to hotel, and flights, so that you can pay them back at a later stage, and this would not affect your current cash flow;.

    3. As soon as you land in Bangkok, (maybe around 4 or 5 AM), go to the lower floor at the hotel (Don't know if its ground floor or lower ground floor) and book a taxi to pattaya. You can also take a bus to Pattaya, which would be much cheaper and preferred if you are going alone.

    4. As mentioned in the PM, make friends with a taxi driver, he will give out all the info about where to do what, and what to avoid. Most of these taxi guys have menu cards with them in their car, and they can take you to many of these places without additional charge. They get paid well by the establishments for every customer they bring in.

    5. I find Go Go Bars boring, so make sure you don't spend loads of time at the go go bars. But having said that, do visit Moulin Rouge at walking street pattaya. They have the best Russian and European women, they give you a hot lap dance for a tip of 100 THB. The idea to get as many lap dances from different girls. You don't need to call them, they come to you, give you a sensual dance, and the standard tip there is 100 THB.

    6. You do not need to go to an escort service, instead go to the discotechs like Insonmia, on walking street. At these clubs, make friends with the dancer girls, tip them with lady drinks which cost about 100-200 for a shot of tequilla or I don't know what's in those shot glasses. These girls would introduce you to freelancer girls. There are also some new discotechs opened on walking street, I do not know the name of the club, maybe some brother out here can mention the names of new clubs in pattaya.

    7. These freelancers are similar to Indies that we have here, they do not sleep around on a regular basis, but only during weekends or when they are free or even when they are broke. Most of them own businesses like small shop / salon / laundry or work for one of them. They are not full time call girls. You can get the best GFE experiences from them, and also they will give you a lot of info about scoring in Thailand.

    8. At the club, try not to make friends with other male tourists, especially people from our motherland, as sometimes these freelancer girls avoid men who come in groups, so this would spoil your chances with this girl.

    9. Bangkok is usually more expensive than Pattaya, but you get all the fun with better girls in Pattaya, so why visit Bangkok and waste your money, there's lots to see in Pattaya itself. Plus Bangkok has a lot of traffic during evening hours, so you would end up spending a good amount of time on the road.

    10. Dress well, look smart, smell fresh, these are the things thai women are particular about. If you want good service, you need to work towards it. Nothing comes as a package, unless you visit a brothel, where the services might be mechanical. You can say you're from India, but also give an impression that you are a classy indian and not part of a group tour package.

The experience is so fresh in my mind, that I enjoy telling it to people, and when talking about it, I feel like I am re-living the experience all together. I am sure most of the menmbers in this thread feel the same.

Now the next post from you, we're all expecting an FR and not another question. LOL.

And this info will be useful to many mumbaikars as expenses for Hotel and girls in Bangkok are almost same as Mumbai. I am planning a Sex Tour in Bangkok for about 4-5 days. I will be travelling alone and for the first time. So wanted to know experience of other Indians. I read in many forums that many Go-Go bars and nightclubs in Bangkok do not treat Indians well and there are many incidents of cheating / theft. Is there any tour from India which is especially for Bachelors. ?. I found one "Bangkok Hangover tour" that operates locally in Bangkok and they take you to all best nightclubs in a single night. They have a web-site. For sex tourist, is Bangkok any different from Pattaya and Phuket? Necessary to travel all 3 places? Which is the best / safest place for sex tourist?. Bangkok? Pattaya? Or Phuket? Which is best hotel in which I can walk to Red Light District. I heard Nana Hotel in Bangkok is next to Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy Street. Thanks in Advance.

I've a real tight situation over here. I'm into deep confusion.

I planned a trip for BKK / Pattaya for the very first time with my friend sometime back, but he dropped himself few days back. I decided to continue alone.

Now I got a contact from travel buddies site who is asking me to join with him. All the things can be sorted out but only one confusion I've in mind.

1-I spoke with him & he sounds okay. He already has gone to LOS for 5 times, thus knows every in and out. But he is completely unknown to me where as he can be great help since I'm new. Will it be a risk?

2-I can continue solo like I planned. But again since it's my very first time some unexpected situations might occur. If going with somebody who already has experience could be some help.

I've only couple of days to decide since flight tickets are going to be hiked. Some help would definitely be welcome.
It is easy to go to Thailand.

You don't need a buddy to hold your hand.

But it can be nice to travel with a friend and go out together.

However, doing this with someone you don't know yet is always a risk. Maybe he is someone who likes to sleep until noon and go out late and you get up early and want to pick up a gogo-girl more early in the evening. Maybe he gets drunk everyday and you stay sober.

I suggest that you arange your own trip and meet him in Bangkok. Then after you meet, you can still decide if you want to do things together or not.

Personally, visiting clubs and bars together is nice, but picking up a girl to bring to your hotel can be somewhat awkward. What if you find a girl you like and your friend not yet? Will you abandon him or trawl more bars until he finds one? Your girl might not like that. Difficult situation which I like to avoid.

There is no problem taking money at entry in this way they can insure they are running business not a free entry museum.
    Everything else is all business.
You hit the points. Most likely the 50 baht entry fee, which is peanuts, serves to show the commitment of the visitor as a (spending) customer.

Those guys run a show, good or bad, rent a place, pay electricity bills, pay service staff, arrange for girls and they obviously do it for a reason: earning money just as any business venue.

The earning comes from drinks, bar fines. Period. Nothing else. Why should they allow someone to peep for free?

You can head by yourself to BKK and still have a great time. So don't worry about the company.

As for the travel buddy no harm in meeting them at a neutral location once or twice before moving around with them.
