Although barrio means "neighborhood" if you are familiar with Dominican Culture then you know how the word is used by Dominicans. You will never hear a "blue blood" Dominican referring to sectors of Naco, Arroyo Hondo and Piantini as a barrio. If they live in one of those sectors you will hear them using the name of the sector.
