You're not crazy. I have not rented a car on any trip in Montreal, and the US Uber app works great. What I would say is you have to give yourself a little more time when calling it there vs the US. Not as many drivers are available, but I never had a problem being stuck anywhere. I use it from the airport to my hotel in downtown each time and it's fast there, by the way prices are more affordable than in the US too, Uber is the way to go. Hang on guys pretty soon the new electric train (the REM) will relay the airport to downtown (then down to south-shore so you guys can visit Katrina! In about 20 minutes. It should be in service by end of 2023.
