Maybe one of those "international journalist" IDs on Khao San, but proper Thai ID cards are all biometric these days and not easily faked. I'm sure it's possible to obtain a convincing fake, but it won't happen without serious money and connections, usually beyond an average hooker's pay-grade. Thailand is 2017 is not the same as Thailand in 1987.

While it's possible to get a fake Thai ID it is not anymore as you suggest as easy as popping down to the Kosan Road. That apart it's a serious offense for a Thai to be caught in possession of one and I imagine working girls would think twice before using it just to cloak their real age.

As to importance of the girl you booked resembling the girl you thought you booked, to some like yourself it doesn't seem to make a difference. In some ways this an admirable attitude and certainly precludes disappointment.

Translated into plain English "we allow providers to lie to our customers about their age because we choose to do so (per our own terms and conditions)". There are no legal requirements whatsoever forbidding you from ensuring the displayed age is correct.

If you were a free service, I'd sort-of understand not wanting to touch more profile info than was absolutely necessary, but you're not. You have paid subscriptions, you post reviews and you have photo verification. As others have said, showing a fake age when you know it's wrong (and already have a process in place to verify IDs) is indeed fraud.

Makes me wonder, what other kinds of fraud or misrepresentation would you consider acceptable? Frankly, I'm not sure I'd trust you with you my credit card info and real name. Smooci is a terrific resource are should be recognized as such. I could see it developing into a major platform for all levels of the escort market from a Hi end membership only service to everyday providers but it has to have maximum credibility.

Online platforms are all about cutting out the middleman and directly connecting sellers and buyers. At this point, it seems to me Smooci has no desire to be a broad marketplace connecting hookers and customer, otherwise it would have attempted signing up freelancers long time ago. What I don't understand is why Smooci doesn't attempt this.

In that segment, they do have a Thai competitor: about half-the price, Thai-language only, with atrocious layout, but with free reviews, seemingly less doctored pictures, provide Line IDs directly, and don't take any responsibility for what happens. Search is a paid option on that Thai site. Would be nice to see Smooci compete with them head-on (they're miles ahead in usability / design), but covering the Farang market as well.

Instead, it seems to me that Smooci is instead aiming to be a limited-scale meta-escort agency (charging subscriptions, with providers asking high prices, seemingly with a price floor set by the house), but still try to disclaim all responsibility for quality and accuracy of information or service, even in easy cases like age which they already know. I wish them all the luck, but honestly, this business model has limited appeal to me.
