I walked up toward the other barbershop, and the barber quickly remembered me. I small talked with him then asked him how much for a haircut? He told me 400 pesos. I gave him 100 peso tip.
I missed the DR a little; but I what I don't miss is the hustle. Its typical for Dominican to lose business in attempt to overcharge you than just charge you a normal price.

Currently in Cali Colombia. The differences is like comparing a Camaro to a Lexus LS. I definitely prefer the smoother ride over the faster ride.

Over in the Colombia section of the forum there is more active posting about the Dominican Republic than there is in the Dominican Republic part of the forum. Location. Location. Location. Both of those businesses are located in the no man / no chica part of Sosua that gets no regular foot traffic. People who actually know Sousa and a bit about retail sales and consumer behavior know that location is everything when you are selling a commodity product with no special appeal. Where are the crowds? Where the chicas are at LOL! Brain surgery, this is not.

"Where is Brookland at" is working very hard on marketing. With two of the servers posted up on the corner in front of the general store across from that sports bar with the windows that open onto the main hangout street. The name of that bar is called Brick City Flames Sports Bar. And they are positioned for success. In fact that place has been there since I first visited Sosua many years ago. The Caribbean Lounge Grill has a draw. A unique menu filled with Haitian cuisine.

The two servers got me to stop buy and the owner was on the street trying to pull customers. I checked out the menu and they had some good deals on it. Especially their specials. But I didn't see anything else unique about it. And I did not partake. I was surprise at how many times I had passed there on my way to the Playero on the main drag and never paid it any mind other than to looking into the commercial plaza where it exists.

From what I see they have a foot traffic problem. And my suggestion to them is to create a draw. From what I see they have a lot of work to put in to actually solve it. But it appears they are working on it. It would appeal to me if they made the outdoor seating more attractive in the style of Fat Jesses (my favorite sandwich place) across from the Jolly Roger Bar and Grill and under my favorite bar in Sosua: The Mile High bar.

VIP is at least located on Pedro Clisante but about a block off the action. I liked the ambiance and the environment but still wouldn't change spots because I can walk out of the my favorite and be right in the middle of the action. During the day my favorite fruit cart is posted up across the street from VIP and just a few steps away from there is my one of my favorite breakfast spots Dolci e Sapori. I have reviewed all these spots and you will find them right here in Grownmans Boom Boom Room. The place where quality information can be posted and not get lost in the noise.

But I have to add another spot to my preferred breakfast locations Wings and Waffles. A menu with unique items. Your meal prepared for scratch. I had to wait 30 minutes for my biscuits because the chef does not make a huge batch and keep them warm. He makes them as he needs them. The hostess / server is pleasant and attentive and the outdoor seating attractive with TV's lining the walls. I got more food than I could eat and made a second meal out of it the next day and I didn't have to bother to go out.

I was on the street about 9:30 PM. It is slow for the chicas tonight. Police were out in force and I saw two chicas get locked up while I was walking back to my hotel. Trip often tells me that the chicas live in the South but they will travel to the north to do business with you. I really didn't quite comprehend the full scope of what he was saying.

The northern area of Granada where I get my rooms is a business area not known for neighborhood residency. Residential area is in the south where Trip resides. Not wanting to come to outside to the upscale area Trip invited us to his location.

Trip, myself and Joe Rock found ourselves at the Jardin mall. Man I like this mall. Unlike the more upscale mall in my area in this mall was full of wandering eyes.

As we walk talkchicas were given us eye contact when they hear a speaking in English. This was a Thursday and the mall was full of young non-pro.
