What is the best time of day to check out Golden Sorya Mall for FL's? What are the usual rates for ST / LT?

Before they tore it down and rebuilt a hollowed out version of what it once was.

There are freelancers sitting around. This Sorya Mall is what everyone writes about. It is across Heart of Darkness.

You're doing a fantastic job! Great maps. I used the one in Bogota with great results. Just got access for Medellin for my next trip. Too bad I didn't have this type of info in 1992. I had to use Lonely Planet.

1) SWs should be added to Wat Phnom and the perpendicular park that bisects Wat Phnom.

2) SWs should be removed from the Sorya Shopping Center. SWs should be added to the Golden Soriya Mall.

The locals call the Sorya Shopping Center, "Sorya Market". This is the 8 story mall (Americans would call that shopping complex a mall and not a market). Locals call the Golden Soriya Mall, "Sorya Mall" (Americans would not call that a mall, but probably a market), which is an outside complex with shops and bars with a steel roof overhead. There are freelancers sitting around. This Sorya Mall is what everyone writes about. It is across Heart of Darkness.

Heart of Darkness: I know you don't list gay bars. Multiple people on this forum have called it a gay bar, with female freelancers with backpackers. Even http://www.canbypublications.com/ (a very good site to get general Cambodia info) lists Heart of Darkness as a LGBT bar. I know if you go in there, it looks like a gay bar from the Western perspective. Guys are dancing with guys. Guys are drinking with guys at the tables. IMO, it is not a gay bar. Some of the Asian culture is "gay". It is normal for heterosexual males to dance with each other. There are no real pick-up bars like in the West. In Cambodia, good girls don't, bad girls do. So male friends will go out to bars like Heart and drink. My gaydar doesn't buzz in there. The guys are not flamboyant, nor are they kissing or hugging. Well, just my opinion. I admit I do not know how Cambodian gay people act.
