it's too bad nobody's come up with some kind of internet rld.

it could be as simple as a website where everybody goes. instead of cruising along sargent or selkirk, you could just go to something like winnipeg_rld dot com (no such place, unfortunately).

you could look around online, check the girls out with a webcam. or they could have a profile posted..... just like one of those dating sites, but for pro's only.

do a short online chat like..... hey you look good. where are you at? since it's just you and her online, it might even be considered private.... therefore not illegal.

the main reasons it wouldn't work,

most street girls are to poor/addicted/disorganized/afraid to try put something like this together. plus, it's not everybody who has access to an internet connection.

who'd be the one to get it started? it shouldn't be that hard, grapevine is pretty much turned into the same thing. it was easy, because everybody has a phone.

the nice thing about a website is there's no funny phone bills. also, you can have a message account... so you don't need to be there worrying about someone else picking up the phone.

come to think of it, this isg thing could work pretty good. just have a "girls' section" for each city. they could join up as members, leave info about themselves in their own thread. we then use the private message function to hook up with them.

Thx GD, its funny how you compared that though. Rock has this huge number of "600" compared to my small "50". LOL. Wow I didn't know you can pick girls up using a cab, thats pretty smart. But yea, I would think the cab drivers would say no or would litearlly use their radio and call LE on you.

Yea its been a while for me though, since I have picked up girls off the street, I mean I have seen some out there, but not as many as like the years before, unless they have moved to another location? Congratulations on 600 and 50 posts respectively. I was wondering too whats going with the street scene. I got two girls around Sept. They were good in service and attitude but not that great on looks. This time of year most probably girls out there are crackheads. I normally use a Cab to pick girls from street. Just try to avoid using my personal car. Cab drivers have good idea where to find girls.

The best idea would be to allow full service MP style establishments.

Here's why:

If the action is on the street, the girls will always be at risk from A-holes that figure it's ok to treat her bad, she's just a wh*re

Also, the ever-present do-gooders (like Wpg Free Press Lindor Reynolds) who simply can't stand the idea of ANY sex for sale.... even though they obsess about same.

Neighbourhood activists. Wherever you put it, someone's gonna say they don't want hookers near where THEY live.

Concentrate all the girls in one area and snoops will go there getting down everyones licence plate #.

Wherever you put it, some girls won't feel like taking the time $ and effort to get there..... they'll still want to work their local area.

Overall, I do support the idea. But there's never a shortage of A-holes ready to oppose anything that makes so much sense.

red light district 2007 ok so if no one has posted anything since the last 24 hrs, this post will be my 50th, and will be the 300th post in general, lol. from everyone who has posted in this forum. anyways i have talked to a few politicians about the possibility of a rld in 2007? they want it to happen. however, with a debate like this, of course there are opposing sides to it, so i'm curious what does anyone think of this? good or bad? does wpg need one? my opinion, it would help. and shelter some of the ones from pimps that live off them. i don't agree tho with the ones that are ****. but to clean up the streets is a good way to go, if they had a rld in place.

Yeah I hear you. They aren't all bad. The welfare people aren't all bad either. It's just that most of them sit around complaining about shit... well that's the whole POINT. It's supposed to be that way.... that's the motivation to get OFF of welfare, go out and do better for yourself.

There's this Colleen Simard who wrote about this very thing in yesterdays Free Press. What a dumb B*tch! They always have some excuse why its too hard or they just can't do it because **fill in blank with whatever excuse**

As for history, take the average indian and put them with their own people...... 200 years ago when they were hunting, gathering and fishing for a living. They worked to get by back then, I don't see how it works out that they should be OK to sit around now. And don't give me that residential school bullshit either. There's a lot of immigrants that went through worse than that. But they come here, start working, and make out just fine. Same goes for a lot of the ones that went through the res school system.

Colleen is also always going on about justice for indians and native rights. Then, one sentence later, you guessed it, she starts talking about money. The kind of money that indians like the best... money that you didn't have to work for!

I have more respect for a girl on welfare that earns a little extra $$$ hooking on the side. At least that shows they have some desire for something better, and are willing to get off their ass to do something to get it.

It seems to me that the street action has cleaned up alot lately. That or everyone who used to be on ellice, sargent and all those other known streets have just moved and roamed somewhere else, cuz of too much LE. On and off for a few years now, varying from once a month to a couple times I week I head out to see what's shaking out there. I've experienced some great stuff, and also some bad - been overcharged, underserviced, and hell, even held at knifepoint (learned a valuable what-not-to-do kind of lesson that night).

Last night, for instance, I went out for a cruise to see what was going on in the North End. Ran into a little cutie I'd never seen before, so I picked her up. White girl named Christina, 19-20, brunette that tends to blonde, maybe high-B low-C cups...the girl next door.

I agree. But, it also has something to do with their history. I completely agree being uneducated and on welfare is not a reason to engage into things they do. I know people (not native) who are on welfare but dont end up in jail every week.
