LOL. JustTK, with the latest monochromatic media we have, Covid has been wiped from the headlines and now it is all Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine. Of course, this is the latest marching orders where we have to spend billions or the world will end.

It is really hard to prove something prevents death and even harder when you realize how the pols dictate what is put on a death certificate. That is why death numbers so often are fake. The better metric was always whether the vaccines prevent hospitalization but even that got screwed up as people with Covid were treated the same as people who were hospitalized from Covid.

What is funny now is flying. I flew to Fort Lauderdale on an airplane maskless which was nice. Then we got to the airport. A sign said wearing masks is still required and it was ignored. Maybe one in 10 people had masks on. Then I boarded the flight to Colombia and then we had to put on the masks outside before going into the airport. Colombia has way fewer cases than the USA, so it made no sense but common sense was never a part of this whole pandemic.

The pandemic ends then not with a thud but a whimper except for all those "model" Asian countries that are now getting slammed. But no fucking way has Uber ever continued to operate a single second without being fully licensed to do business in its respective jurisdiction. I'm not sure which fantasy land you're living in, but it doesn't seem to have any connection to the real world. Here's what happens in the real world:

1. You pull put your phone and request an Uber. At some point the Uber shows up.

2. When you attempt to get in the back, the driver signals for you to sit in the front.

3. The driver does not start telling you that Uber is illegal in Colombia. Unless you ask why he wants you to sit in the front. The subject doesn't come up.

4. If you ask (and can understand Spanish) you will probably be told (as I was) that some of the taxi drivers cause trouble with Uber drivers.

Legal and illegal aren't things which are clearly defined and they are subject to change. When Uber began operating in Colombia, it was legal, from Uber's viewpoint, illegal from taxi driver's viewpoint and undefined by the Colombian legal system. I believe the Colombian courts have declared it legal, then illegal, then legal, then illegal, then legal. Each time the status changes, Uber legal goes to work and everything continues.

For a guy who never exaggerates and whose word is gold, you sure are full of shit. I'm going to take a wild guess that you have not talked to every Uber driver in Colombia and that you haven't a fucking clue whether or not any of them have ever had their car impounded.
