You brought something up because you don't have much familiarity with Medellin. Esta bien. Other people made obnoxious comments about haggling over the taxi fare. One not very social person even suggested that he is here to "use" the desperate women and he has no bad feelings about taking advantage of their desperation.

Some of us are actually part of the human race. I am not saying you have to overpay by a huge amount, make a deal that you are both happy with, but haggling over 7,50 mil on the transportation is taking "cheap" to a whole new level.

Whenever guys can hide behind computers, they feel they can dictate how their way is the only right way. Forums like this one is suppose to be about sharing of useful info respecting that each of us could have different preferences. It would be interesting to see if those who are rude act like this in person if we were all in a group down there. I recall that when I was at Blackbeard's in Dominican Rep and at bars in Angeles City, all the guys meeting each other for the first time were really cool and happy to share info about the places we've each been to. Nobody was rude to each other in person.

15 mil for a cab is not price gauging. It is on the low end. Arguing or complaining over cab fare of 7. 5 mil (which is not easily found) is ridiculous and using an example of going to McDonalds is idiotic.

I have been going to Medellin for at least 7 years now and before then Cali. I have a long list of girls that I see and thereafter go out for lunch or dinner. Yes a dinner!

Yeah, people shouldn't let themselves get price-gouged because of being a foreigner, but there is always a line to draw. If you walk into a McDonalds and see the price of a Big Mac is 20 cents for foreigners and 10 cents for locals, I think it is perfectly fine for people to just pay the premium. The major point is that they are aware of the upcharge and making a best faith effort to not allow themselves to be swindled constantly. Truthfully, a lot of pobrecitos here don't seem to understand that haggling, negotiating, and making a scene over 20 cents doesn't matter to a lot of folks who would be paying $10 for a burger.

It also seems to me that a lot of folks are obsessed with "winning" any exchange. They have to pay bare-bottom prices so they can feel like they got back at the "vapid women" who shun them in real life. They have to be the ones who are on the forum talking about how they get 10/10, amateur, chicas who totally love them for cheap / free.
