Do you really feel cheated or taken advantage because you were asked to pay the standard low price of 15 mil ($3. 60)?

I have been going to Medellin for at least 7 years now and before then Cali. I have a long list of girls that I see and thereafter go out for lunch or dinner. Yes a dinner!

Dinner at decent place will run you around 40 K. Good heavens, I spend the equivalent of $10 for food for a girl that has very little choices in life on how to make ends meet.

And Oh My God! I have also taken some on trips with me as well. And guess what? I paid for them for their time including food and drinks. How silly of me?

The guys here worried about small change like this are true losers. They couldn't get a date where they are from (I wonder why?) And feel a sense of power arguing over small change.
Same guys that worry about $1. 80. Probably couldn't get a job at McDonalds.
    Why is it so aggressive?

Do I have to be told I'm a loser for asking if I'm paying for a cab?

How do you know if I'm available to meet girls in my home country or not? Do you have the eyes of fucking Sauron on your head or something? Northeast Asian girls and Latina girls are different from the skeleton Why should I, a mere sex tourist, be insulted over a cab fare. You are extremely rude.

What's the problem? Why are you all fighting?

Yep I'm sure that was their dream.

And low and behold here comes prince gordo, who wants to negotiate the price of their taxi (or metro) to save that $1.80.

If a guy can't afford to be decent he should go to the casas where the price is fixed, there the girls won't expect a tip so they should be right at home.
    What is fucking Prince Gordo?

I've read the past posts here. I really don't understand the 'why' people here are arguing about.

When did I say I tried to 'negotiate'?

She asked for money for a cab and I offered to call her an Uber. She said she had already called a cab and I gave her the money without saying anything.

Why do people here fight over things like this? I'm new to Colombia and I was wondering if it's common for a man to pay for a taxi. And the amount she asked for was exactly double the Uber fare. I was wondering if this is common or if she raised the price on purpose. I don't understand why everyone is fighting over this.

Yes, that's right, 15000 pesos is 5000 won in Korean money.

Holy shit, fucking 5000 won doesn't even cover the basic taxi fare in Korea.

That's not enough money to buy a meal.

It's the price of a damm 1 Big Mac.

Is it weird to ask, just out of curiosity? It can be off-putting to have a price jacked up, even by 10 cents.

I once bought Colombian Vienna sausages from a street vendor at the San Antonio station and the vendor asked me 1500 pesos for one sausage.

When I bought Colombian Vienna sausages in the Plaza Botero 30 minutes later, they were 700 pesos for 1 and 2000 pesos for 3. When I handed over 2200 pesos, the honest vendor gave me back 200 pesos with a smile!

I felt bad when I realized that I was selling the same sausage to a foreigner for twice the price.

Yes gentlemen I only lost 800 pesos, damn it I've never seen a cent coin, I know it's a fucking small amount of money in American money.

But I do feel bad about it. Just out of curiosity, what did you not like so much about it, sir?

For enough money to feed themselves and their baby.

She was Venezuelan and had the latest iPhone, sir.

To conclude, I never tried to 'negotiate', the translator might be weird so if everyone have something to say, ask.

You changed the subject. In your example, they charge you 40 cents which is twice of what is listed.

Yeah, people shouldn't let themselves get price-gouged because of being a foreigner, but there is always a line to draw. If you walk into a McDonalds and see the price of a Big Mac is 20 cents for foreigners and 10 cents for locals, I think it is perfectly fine for people to just pay the premium. The major point is that they are aware of the upcharge and making a best faith effort to not allow themselves to be swindled constantly. Truthfully, a lot of pobrecitos here don't seem to understand that haggling, negotiating, and making a scene over 20 cents doesn't matter to a lot of folks who would be paying $10 for a burger.

It also seems to me that a lot of folks are obsessed with "winning" any exchange. They have to pay bare-bottom prices so they can feel like they got back at the "vapid women" who shun them in real life. They have to be the ones who are on the forum talking about how they get 10/10, amateur, chicas who totally love them for cheap / free. Everybody needs to find balance between being "that" guy and being some poor sap who is getting roped along by chicas and dropping tons of money for sub-par service.

Really? This is an example of how guys lose touch or don't give a damn on how tough life is in Colombia for these girls and their families. Shameful is what it is.

$1.80 , Just the idea of haggling for that amount is disgusting.
Newsflash: Life is tough for everybody, not just Colombian hookers. And NOBODY in this thread is going to Medellin with the purpose of making life better for the hookers and their families. They are going there because they can pay chicks to get their dick wet. If they cared so much about the girls and their families then they could just send the money through Western Union without going to fuck, as I am sure you do. You will be blessed for your benevolence.

Sounds harsh but what I am saying is if roles were reversed you can bet your ass that they would not give a flying FK about you either.
With that attitude you are probably right. No girl would give a flying FK about you.

Good for you, I hope you spend that $1.80 in savings well.

I don't eat at McDonalds and to make that comparison to desperate people looking for money to McDonalds pricing is ludicrous.

You are going to wonder why they are trying to charge you double. But once again when pussy is involved a little extra seems to not matter.

But the legal position is different Gabacho. It seems crazy that USA enforces its own laws in another land, but that is not normal. So a Chinese person only has to abide by the Colombian law. There may be situations where Chinese tourists are not breaking any law in Colombia whereas, for the same act, USAns are.

    Woodman of Medellin?

If you have been to Bogota, you have probably taken a tour with Woodman, who knows all the "Adult" things you can do in that town. Any one like that in Medellin?

Exactly!! What the other said was not wrong. There is a lot of danger (so I hear) in columbia. I cancelled 2 trips so far. I was hoping stuff would get better in 2024. I might still take a chance and come down this fall.
