I have to tell you, Anthony2023. I am really impressed with your posts. You obviously know more than all the fellows here that have visited so many times they can't count them and others of us that have lived here for years. I'm surprised you spend so much time posting, since you clearly know everything already, even though you've never been to Colombia before.

For the others who don't know everything, let me mention a few of your glaringly ignorant ideas.

1. Girls do not talk about price in Dollars or Euros or Reals or Pounds. They tell you what they want in Colombian Pesos. One well-known exception is Gusto's where the girls are there to grab the new visitors who haven't learned how things work yet. They will quote you a price in Dollars. If you deal with them or someone else in Dollars you will be taken advantage of.

2. If you think your 2 years of Spanish in high school makes you fluent, you're wrong. If you think you're fluent in Colombian Spanish because you grew up in a Latino community. You're wrong.

Colombian Spanish is distinctly different than Mexican Spanish, Cuban Spanish, Costa Rican Spanish, Argentinian Spanish etc etc. Not only that, Medellin has its own "dichos" that will not make sense to you and won't translate on your Google translator. Your accent will stick out. Doesn't mean you can't communicate, just understand this: No one will think you are Colombian.

Here is a silly but true example. I met a couple of gentlemen from South Carolina the other day. We spoke for a bit. I could hardly understand anything they said. Their accent is so different from other parts of the country that it was a real challenge to understand. Same would be true for some people from Boston or Brooklyn.

3. If you think you're young and Latino and the girls are going to relate to you. You're delusional. A significant portion of the women in Colombia have their children in their mid to late teens. They live at home with their parents. Where is the father? He split the minute he heard she was pregnant. That is a very common story in Colombia. So why are they posting on FaceBook or other sites? Their parents tell them to earn some money to support the household. Minimum wage here is about 1 million COP monthly. Roughly the equivalent of $220. Rent, services, food, diapers. 1 million pesos doesn't get it done. They are thrilled to see some older ugly gringo that gives them 200 mil or 250 mil. They aren't trying to relate to you they are trying to relate to your wallet.

4. You might think you are going to find the most beautiful women in Colombia (and there a lot of them) and they are going to be so impressed that they are going to want to date you on your two week vacation (or whatever it is). Do you think those girls who are well educated and / or have jobs are going to want to date some foreigner who is visiting for a few weeks? If they are that exceptional in the looks department don't you think they already have a boyfriend? Do you think for a second that they don't have 2 or 3 other male friends who are waiting in line for the breakup?

Seriously dude, get over yourself. Also, parents want their daughters to date successful, educated accomplished men. Why? Because they will be good providers and aren't as likely to run and hide if they knock-up their little princess. You know what the mothers tell their daughters? "It is just as easy to fall in love with a rich man as it is a poor man. ".

5. Don't for one second think you understand paisas. You don't. If you seriously think what works for you in the US will work here, well, I think you'll be surprised. Hopefully you read some of the posts on being careful, not drawing attention to yourself, being extremely careful with your drinks (or better yet not drinking) in your room when you have company. Not wearing jewelry or designer wear out on the streets. Not pulling your cell-phone out of your pocket every time it buzzes. Etc etc. But then, you already know everything so it was just for the benefit of those others who seriously want to have a good time and not have their vacation ruined because of carelessness or arrogance.

Thank's for the advice I suppose, although nothing you said is news to me, trust me iv'e done plenty of research and watched several videos of visitors, not to mention I been reading posts here. I am well aware there are different types of spanish. I started learning spanish when I was a year old so I think I'll be ok. Yes it all varies, all have different prices. I currently have one right now quoting me as high as $100 for 3 hrs or $200 all night. Yes she used dollars and hrs before I even said anything. Different locations target different customers and offer different service levels. Not all girls can make the same amount of money at the same location. That is something you are missing.

I think La Isla has the best looking girls on average but they provide limited service because most of their customers don't demand it. You can read the reports to find out. The same La Isla from two years ago is different from the La Isla now. You need to know the difference when reading posts from different time.

Not all of the chicks working Gustos or La Isla, or FB / Seeking are ass hood chicks. You can't generalize. Medellin is not a small city, and it has nicer neighborhoods too, and I'm not talking about Poblado only, but Laureles, Belen, Envigado, Las Palmas, Itagui, etc. And guess what? Chicks live there too. Some of them come from middle class families, some are educated or currently in college, some got normal jobs other than selling pussy. These chics won't sell pussy for $30, but would do it for $200-300. And you won't find them working the streets or cheap casas.

Also, girls that come from nicer neighborhoods, or not dead broke like some El Centro chicks, can afford to take better care of themselves, eat healthier, workout in a gym, cosmetology, etc, usually they stay away from drugs or excessive alcohol.
