Here is a list of several and I recognize several that are either on la 70 or just off la 70.

And if you think the wealthy only live in El Poblado you're not very knowledgeable about Medellin, which should come as no surprise to anyone. Want to find other enclaves of wealthy Colombians? Try Zuniga area of Envigado or Conquistadores-Laureles, or Parque Laureles-Laureles.

Also, Colombia is light years better than places in Asia, particularly the Philippines or India. The poverty there is on another level, biblical conditions like leprosy are still endemic. We all have a lot to be thankful for!

La 70 area is primarily middle class strata 4, not 3, but no "high end" hotels on that strip. You have to go to El Pablado for that and to find the wealthy, where the vast majority of homes are ranked as strata 6.

It would be hard to find a strata 3 building in Estadio-Laureles (communa 11) since 98+% of this area is strata 4 or 5.
But of course, you wouldn't know anything about that because you stay in the cheapest hovels around. No wonder you're so experienced with bed-bugs. I bet you're experienced with crabs too. How about lice?

So from "rare" to "a lot less," keep moving the goal posts, you'll get there eventually. Wink I refer eveyone back to my post from today with the heading "Summary. " Brief inspections are worthwhile when checking into a new rental property, regardless of the rental rates, so says pest control specialists and entomologists. Thus your thesis folds and the discussion was worthwhile. Anything else from you is only noise attempting to save face after entering the discussion with arrogance while stepping on your dick.
Not to mention that bed bugs can be very tough to eradicate even with prompt treatment as a number of steps are carried through over a three to six week period. They are extremely resilient. Reports from guests may also be slow coming as many do not have severe reactions from bites, plus it typically takes from one to fourteen days for bites to appear so a connection to the hotel may not be made.

Myself, I enjoy living in Florida but spend about four months a year in Medellin. A short flight and I'm there for vacation. It's the best of both worlds.

Of course, I can see why that would have escaped you. You stay at the "Motel 6 Mil" where they leave the lights on for you. That is so that the cockroaches and rats stay out of sight.

Here's more on bed bugs in five star US hotels. So why not do a few minute inspection when checking into any rental property? This is what the people who know what they are talking recommend. It's simply a myth that bed bugs are only found in high traffic dumps and spending more money on a room buys safety. For one thing they are a very different phenomenon than cockroaches. Good discussion gentlemen.

So calling them "rare" in higher end hotels would certainly be an overstatement. But you aren't in a high end place but in a 3 star hotel on La 70, so you told us, stretching your retirement income in a developing country while claiming to be an investment expert. So any safety regarding bedbugs in high end dwellings, even if it were true, wouldn't apply to you. Oh well. Looks like a swing and a miss on all counts. LOL Next time do some research before engaging your mouth, pretty simple.

Its a symptom of capitalism. In a dog eat dog world, in a poor // developing nation, nature still holds sway. Just as cats and dogs and other animals discard their abnormal offspring bcos they know they cannot support them, people with disabilities. Physical and mental. Are discarded by their familes. Families simply cannot afford to help them bcos they receive wholly inadequate support from the government. So we see the weakest and most vulnerable discarded and thrown on to the streets, where they float downstream and end up in the pool that is El Centro. A place where they can find a piece of grass to lay on and plenty of people to beg from. They are the rejects of society and must live out their lives in misery and being an eyesore and a frustration to everyone else.
But hey, who wants high taxes when it means one less FK per month. Let them suffer, they are not our concern.

Is it just me, or do you see a ton of disabled people everyday in MDE?
Blind people with canes. People missing arms and legs, tons of cleft palates or cleft noses, etc.
And this is everyday, in the states I see this like once in a blue moon.
What is the reason for this? Underdeveloped / expensive healthcare?

And you also failed to do any research so we are given another opportunity to correct BS. Thanks Wink.

Seriously dudes? How many ways can we parse the discussion about bed-bugs? Let me make a cordial suggestion.
If you're concerned about bed-bugs and all the different ways to navigate that problem. Just get a better job (or save a little more money) and stay at a nicer hotel. I've never had that problem at any of the hotels that I have ever stayed at.
Out of curiosity are you guys staying at the Motel 6 Mil??
