Bedbugs are found across the whole spectrum, from the Marriott down to hostels and everything in between. All they need to do is hitch a ride in a suitcase. Sources were provided and plenty more are in Google. It comes down to who you'd listen to, a pest control expert or a guy making up nursey rhymes in a hooker forum.

"'Bed bugs can be present in any hotel no matter how expensive the rooms may be. In fact, we just had a pest control company mention to us the other day that all the calls they are seeing right now are in your higher-priced properties,' said Jeff White, chief product officer at the pest control manufacturer SenSci. That said, bed bugs definitely tend to be a bigger issue in lower-socioeconomic settings for an assortment of reasons,' he added. 'Roadside hotels and motels where you have a higher incidence of extended-stay residents anecdotally can have a higher incidence of issues compared to some of your higher-end hotels, but honestly, it can all vary dramatically from property to property. '.

So calling them "rare" in higher end hotels would certainly be an overstatement. But you aren't in a high end place but in a 3 star hotel on La 70, so you told us, stretching your retirement income in a developing country while claiming to be an investment expert. So any safety regarding bedbugs in high end dwellings, even if it were true, wouldn't apply to you. Oh well. Looks like a swing and a miss on all counts. LOL Next time do some research before engaging your mouth, pretty simple.

Ho hum. Yes. Well, how do I put this. I will just tell you staright and no doubt suffer the ire of several. I know already.

Its a symptom of capitalism. In a dog eat dog world, in a poor // developing nation, nature still holds sway. Just as cats and dogs and other animals discard their abnormal offspring bcos they know they cannot support them, people with disabilities. Physical and mental. Are discarded by their familes. Families simply cannot afford to help them bcos they receive wholly inadequate support from the government. So we see the weakest and most vulnerable discarded and thrown on to the streets, where they float downstream and end up in the pool that is El Centro. A place where they can find a piece of grass to lay on and plenty of people to beg from. They are the rejects of society and must live out their lives in misery and being an eyesore and a frustration to everyone else.

But hey, who wants high taxes when it means one less FK per month. Let them suffer, they are not our concern.

You apparently have no idea where I'm living, although you did ask once and I told you. And if you think I'm looking down my nose at you. Well I apologize. I try not to look down on the intellectually challenged.

I'm delighted that you fancy yourself an expert on bed-bugs. But I guess if someone who is a minimum wage earner and travels and stays in hostels or slum-flats it makes sense to master those facts.

I'll just leave it that two pages in this forum on bed-bugs is Paulie Wolly Doodle All The Day.

    People with disabilities in MDE

Is it just me, or do you see a ton of disabled people everyday in MDE?

Blind people with canes. People missing arms and legs, tons of cleft palates or cleft noses, etc.

And this is everyday, in the states I see this like once in a blue moon.

What is the reason for this? Underdeveloped / expensive healthcare?

If you're concerned about bed-bugs and all the different ways to navigate that problem. Just get a better job (or save a little more money) and stay at a nicer hotel. I've never had that problem at any of the hotels that I have ever stayed at.

Out of curiosity are you guys staying at the Motel 6 Mil??

Lolol If you don't value the discussion then stay out of it, easy. It started with Mr E mocking a stewardess without bothering to check Google. Turns out he was very wrong so a useful discussion followed.

Yeah that didn't make sense. I think maybe it was supposed to say before you unpack. I personally haven't taken anti bedbug measures in hotels but maybe I should start before my luck runs out.

It is new information for me that bedbugs are not common in the tropics. It explains a lot, like why I haven't encountered them in some of the sketchy places I've been. I am grateful for my dumb luck on this front.

Bedbugs are more of a problem in more temperate parts of globe, not so much in the tropics.

I suppose you are correct because as Huacho pointed out, you will have to buy all new things, including luggage, so bedbugs shouldn't be in the new things.

Must depend on the hotel. My second or third time in Colombia I was leaving the hotel on the way to the airport and my card would not go through to pay the hotel. My mortgage had been taken out twice for some reason and there was no more money in the account. I ended up leaving my suitcase instead of paying and told them I would pay the money next time I came. The next time I paid the money I owed and got my suitcase.

Sure. It's pretty obvious. If your luggage is in a bathtub before you check in, then you forgot your fucken luggage at the last hotel. And if that happens in Colombia, you will never get it back, and will lose all your shit, and have to buy a new suitcase too. But, you won't get bedbugs.

    Make sense now?

Not at all. There are tons of websites and most just need some kind of content to try to keep them somewhat interesting as seemed to be the case with this one. The guy acted like there are only 2 options for your bag; the bed or the bathtub. He ignored every other place that I named earlier. Like hotels spend all this money on luggage stands for nothing.

This article left me saying huh? I could not tell what he meant by half the stuff he wrote.

"Don't Put Your Luggage in Rack:

I don't know why so many people are putting their suitcases on top of their beds and racks, but the truth is, there's nothing wrong with it. I'm not sure why so many people think it's weird, but I don't mind. I think it's pretty cool. ".

He should have asked well where are people supposed to put the bag when they want to take a shower or when the tub is wet. Or I would have even asked who told you that bullshit?
