It's time for confession, so I can atone for my sins and purify my soul.

It's recently been stated I've committed the unforgivable sin of buying lunch for women, and I admit it is true. Because of my work, I almost always eat alone, and often I'm pressed for time, unable to just relax and enjoy the meal.

When I have the time, like when I'm on vacation, I enjoy meeting others for meals. Often, I'm willing to pay for whoever joins me. I know, everyone is shocked I would admit to such a heinous act. However, I value honesty, so I must confess.

It gets worse, much worse. Sometimes I buy meals for women who I am not having sex with. Sometimes I even do the unthinkable and buy meals for male friends. I don't even make them give me a handjob. I've even bought ingredients and cooked for others. Yes, I've even given food to homeless people.

I completely understand if you can't bear to read the rest. It's quite possibly the most atrocious act ever committed.

I don't know who to blame for such outlandish behavior. Did it start in childhood, when I was fed every day and never once was required to pay, or provide sexual services? Is it an overcompensation from my Navy days and all those free meals, when I was often figuratively getting screwed?

It could all come from one specific evening. There were 3 of us, who often went out drinking together. One Saturday night 2 of us were broke and couldn't afford to go to our favorite bars (extra credit for anyone who has done the Kingston Shuffle). We were sitting around the house which the other 2 shared, probably complaining. The third guy came downstairs and asked if we were ready to go. When we told him we couldn't afford it, he pointed out his income tax return had just come in and asked if we thought we could drink up $1100. We tried.

It was quite the night. We bought all the cheap champagne the bar had. We were each walking around with a pitcher of beer, refilling glasses for all the women. We were even dancing with bottles of champagne in hand. If I remember correctly, the bar tab was less than $200, mostly for the $10 a bottle champagne. At $3 a pitcher, it's tough to spend a lot on beer and it was only a beer and wine bar.

Back to my confession.

In Colombia it's not too expensive. I took 3 girls to one of the more expensive restaurants and I spent less than $100. Probably the most egregious transgression happened late last year. I went to a butcher shop and spent $200 on a big, prime rib roast, 8 pounds. I gave it to my sister, who is a fantastic cook, and told her my brother and I would be over for dinner the next night. A sister, brother and brother in law and I didn't even get a kiss.

There's more. So much evil in me.

I've given a few girls a loaded Civica card for the Metro, probably with $10 worth of rides. At one place I stayed I gave a big bag of Colombian coins to the receptionist. Probably 30 k or more. All because I didn't feel like schlepping around 3 pounds of useless metal. I've bought clothes, sex toys and tchotchkes. I once brought a bottle of moderately expensive body spray for the women to use and one girl misunderstood and took the bottle with her.

I could go on, but I don't want to be responsible for the distress to everyone reading this.

I know it's a lot to ask, but isn't there anyone who could ever forgive me? I admit to my weakness and it's likely I'll commit these despicable acts again. Just knowing someone, somewhere has ever done such a horrible thing will give me the strength to go on.

However, unless she is over 50, there is no way she could have received a booster on November 27. Boosters were only authorized for age 50 or older at that time in Colombia. No exceptions. The earliest she could have received a booster dose was December 21.

Now, why is it unlikely she received a second dose 15 days after the first? Because, of all the vaccines used in Colombia, only 1 has a dosing schedule which makes a 15 day interval possible. That's the CoronaVac vaccine, from China, with a 2-4 week dosing schedule. The Johnson and Johnson vaccine is only 1 dose and the minimum for the Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Moderna vaccines were all longer. The shortest interval was 3 weeks, initially, for Pfizer.

To make it more unlikely, the initial supply of CoronaVac was sent exclusively to the departments bordering Brazil, because it is more effective against the gamma variant. Add to that the fact that CoronaVac is the least used vaccine in Colombia.

In conclusion, it's possible, but unlikely, she received a second dose 15 days after the first. However, it's not possible that she received a booster dose on November 27.

Let's introduce you to the humble synonym. Synonyms are words or phrases with the same meaning. For example:

Let's dive into the subject of logic systems. All logic systems share one requirement, they must be consistent in application. On the other hand, you would only have to introduce the reasonable doubt. All clear?

This is the second time you claimed I was responsible for the widespread infection of many people. The first time you claimed I spread it all over the continent. This time you are claiming I spread it to everyone in Medellin. Go ahead. Prove it. I'll even make it easy for you. All you have to do is show a significant increase in the number of Covid cases in Medellin during or within 2 weeks after my visit. The date range is June 17-24,2021. Add 2 weeks and your cutoff date is July 8. If you can show a significant increase in Covid cases occurred within that date range, I'll accept that I was the only person responsible for every additional infection.

Spoiler alert. The number of new cases in Antioquia on June 17 was 7234 and dropped every day, with 3034 new cases reported on July 8. Once again you fall flat on your face.

I'm being ridiculously generous here. Technically I am only required to create a reasonable doubt. There were at least 2 regular contributors to ISG who met up with me on that trip, as reported by them. If one or both did not contract COVID after meeting me and before July 8, then your claim is bullshit.

Colombia is not handling covid well. In spite of the moderate size of population, Colombia ranks 10th for the covid death and 13th for the total cases in the world. I agree that the real case number could be 3-4 times of the official number since very few Colombians take covid tests. Probably, Colombia should rank around 5-7th for total cases.

Well you are right that Colombia is 13th in total cases and 10th in total deaths but is that an analytically sound way to look at it? Of course not. A country that has 1/10 the population of Colombia and has 1/2 as many cases is doing dramatically worse. If you are getting your information from Worldometer (a great source). Try clicking on the cases per million. That will do a lot to normalize the total cases and death counts.

Colombia is 83rd in the world for total cases per 1 million.
