I haven't seen stats on side effects. I know they have been buried. But I have no evidence that either way. But I do know that there is nothing more anecdotal that (I talked to 300 people and they are all fine". Hahahhaaaa. Maybe all the not fine people are dead or in hospital then? Duh.

Elvis what do you expect the Reps to do in terms of vaxes and mandates when they get in power in 2023?

JustTK, that story about drug companies refusing to waive patent rights for poorer nations was not told in main stream media in the USA. You had to go to to alternative outlets to hear it.

For all the people touting the vaccine, there is no more stark example of what was important: vaccine company profits or getting the world vaccinated.

The other story that has not been reported or buried is how many people are having side effects to the vaccine. It is amazing that a vaccine that was improved for emergency use (and the paltry safety hurdles that have to be cleared for that designation) can be mandated by governments. There is going to be blow back on this issue.

Well that did not take long

I just posted on what I saw and confirmed that what was being said in the media was true. I made predictions: one of which was that the government would shorten the isolation period, and it has: https://twitter.com/CNNSitRoom/statu...14249766559748.

So the isolation period has gone from 10 days to 5 days.

And it looks like the other is true too. What you are seeing with Omicron is the futility of the vaccine in preventing transmission. This whole "if you are vaccinated, you are at less risk of getting Covid" nonsense has been sunk. What has been shown in the NFL is those vaccinated are less likely to have symptoms but are still getting and transmitting the virus. The LA Rams were 98% vaccinated and half their team tested +.

The key here is if the death rates are so low with omicron and the side effects of the vaccine so high that it would be prudent to re-evaluate the risk-benefit ratio for the vaccine, but Fauci keeps on keeping on.

He was using omicron to continue to push more vaccination: https://twitter.com/ThisWeekABC/stat...13730979545092.

He even says that it would be great if you required people to be vaccinated before domestic travel.

So on the one hand we do not know much about omicron but we "know" the vaccine is super awesome, and this is a way we can get even more people to get vaccinated!

I really did not want to bore people with the partisan debates but predict what this administration would do with Covid with omicron, and it was to kiss the ass of big business and keep the middle finger raised when it comes to the independent traveler.

What did surprise me is Fauci trying to get the administration to raise the middle finger of both hands. He wants to screw the domestic travelers too.

Which is worse. The virus or the handing of the virus?

We have debated long and hard the ethics and likely consequences of the vaccines. But I read an article recently that prompted me to re-examine some factors that have lain dormant for wuite some time.

Global excess deaths shoow that 5. 7 million extra people have died since CV. This might be as a direct result of catching CV, or it could be as a consequence of actions taken by governments in response to CV. Other ignored medical issues, starvation, depression, whatever. We will never accuratly know the split of this number, partly bcos the world is recording the death of anyone that had CV at the time of death as a CV death (which would clearly be incorrect, when considering the cause of death).

So max 5. 7 million, but no doubt significantly on the high side. And many of these deaths are of old, sick, bad health people (living mostly in advantaged rich countries, where these people would already be dead and not part of the stats had they been born in a poor country).

Now, I don't know if you remember back to the start of the pandemic. The WHO warned that 500 million faced being pushed back in to extreme poverty if the world went in to lockdown and did nothing:

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-h...-idUSKCN21R0E7

Well guess what? - the world did nothing. Ha! Biden in 2020, "I will shut down the virus."

Months later, 10/15/20 "We're eight months into the pandemic. Donald Trump still does not have a plan to get this virus under control. I do. "

A few weeks ago, "For the unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death for the unvaccinated: for themselves, their families, and the hospitals that will be overwhelmed."

Today, "There is no federal solution. This gets solved at the state level."

As for not wanting to put in the links, that reason is obvious. Your sorry ass was saying that red states were the ones getting killed whereas right now it is the blue ones getting slaughtered.

Maybe you had cannot read between the lines, but with Omicron, Biden threw in the towel on Covid. While you are not willing to give up the charade that Democrats have all the answers with Covid, he is. Biden is cutting and running on Covid.

I hope he actually acts and acts soon on what he said. Nothing would make me happy if Brandon left all the Covid regulations up to the states.

    Don't Look Up

"The old order changeth, yielding place to new.

And God fulfils Himself in many ways.

Lest one good custom should corrupt the world.

Comfort thyself: what comfort is in me?

I have lived my life, and that which I have done.

May he within Himself make pure! But thou,

If thou shouldst never see my face again.

Pray for my soul. More things are wrought by prayer.

Than this world dreams of. Wherefore, let thy voice.

Rise like a fountain for me night and day.

For what are men better than sheep or goats.

That nourish a blind life within the brain.

If, knowing God, they lift not hands of prayer.

Both for themselves and those who call them friend?

For so the whole round earth is every way.

Bound by gold chains about the feet of God.

But now farewell. I am going a long way.

With these thou seëst—if indeed I go—.

(For all my mind is clouded with a doubt).

    To the island-valley of Avilion;.

Where falls not hail, or rain, or any snow.

Nor ever wind blows loudly; but it lies.

    Deep-meadow'd, happy, fair with orchard-lawns.

And bowery hollows crown'd with summer sea.

Where I will heal me of my grievous wound. ".

The best the CIA can come up with is a half cocked movie with LEO de Caprio, Meryl Streep (it is STILL alive) and some eye candy scientist. Plenty of minority leeches to make up the diversity quotas. Half of this hyped Hollywood flop is taken up with de Caprio saying "peer-reviewed articles". Hollywood has to be taking a hit, paying those dummies fortunes. Animated actors and special effects has to be the way to go. Hopefully, European, Indian and other sources will get stronger. Nigeria, by all accounts, makes a ton of movies, more than anywhere else. Ex Africa etc.

Anyway, my new year's resolutions begin today. Get busy living or get busy dying. Though the American Covid-phobes are a laugh as they splash about for a comfort blanket, the joke wears thin.

The New Order emerges. Sex dolls, rationed tissue paper and baby oil for many, Only Fans for more. The world is out of whack. OnlyFans, de Caprio, losers.

A question to the jury: If a babe had Covid, would you fuck her? Yes or no?

Full Disclosure: Other things being ok, I most likely would. As Covid drags on, we will forget how to fuck. Another lost art.

That said, though a less virulent strain is encouraging on the one hand, precautions are still warranted, especially to deter spread to more vulnerable populations. Comical. On one hand, you say it's too early to guage. And then you go to what might happen, all in the most negative light. While anything is possible, facts are available if you had any interest. The NY Times, you know that right wing bastion, shows cases increased 83% in the last two weeks. Hospitalizations? Up 8%. Incredible disparity. Even more telling: deaths are up 3%. Unless, of course, NYT is a right wing fringe blog. LOL.

I appreciate your concern about me getting my dick wet. I assure you, the pandemic has not interrupted my activities. But perhaps you'd be better off concerned with facts, not endless fear mongering and faux science. If not, you can live vicariously through the men who aren't whining. Either way, no skin off my back. Peace.

This virus is doing what most do. As they run through their course, mutations generally become more contagious yet less virulent. At this point, we know enough about omicron to know the death rates are likely much lower than influenza. Comparing Omicron to the initial onset is just foolish. And applying even stricter approaches is even more foolish.

But alas, our power-drunk politicians know better. LOL What irks me the most is the "follow the science" line. When in fact, the science contradicts their approach. Let alone the lunacy of air vs land restrictions. I mean, our country is now turning away its citizens from "coming home."

As always, I get sucked down a political rabbit hole all too easily. But just wanted to say kudos Elvis for a thoughtful analysis.

We should hit an all time high with Covid cases tomorrow or the next day, and I would not be surprised if we passed 400,000 or 500,000 cases for one day on December 30 or so. In terms of cases, that would be the worst ever. In terms of severity, it is nothing. Only two unvaxxed out of a 100 or so Covids I saw were sick, and they had co-morbidities and were unvaxxed. Most of the people with Covid were unvaxxed, but a lot were not.

Now comes the political part. The NFL had so many players testing + and who were without symptoms, they took the amazing step of saying if you have no symptoms and are vaccinated, you do not need to be tested and can play.

In the mean time, Fauci went bonkers about testing at Christmas and Biden ordered 500 million tests. Thousands and thousands of flights were cancelled due to airlines having staffing issues due to Covid and I have to wonder how many of those people were Covid + but not sick. The quarantine period for health care workers was cut but not for other workers, and I am not sure I get the logic with that.

So the easy prediction is the quarantine period will shorten. That to me is a 100% deal. Businesses will be screaming if that is not the case. We should see 7 day quarantine and even shorter if asymptomatic. Without that, the worker shortage will be a huge problem.

What I care about though is the testing for Covid prior to coming back to the USA. It never made sense to test for air travelers and not those traveling by land, but that discrepancy is going to be multiplied even more with omicron. Given how weak this strain is and how contagious it is, you have less justification than ever to do testing. A smarter screening would be testing for fever, but Omicron is so ubiquitous the notion that you have a plane Covid free at this point just boggles the mind. I think all flights will have someone with Covid on them. So why screen international and not domestic especially when countries like Colombia have so much less Covid (for now anyway)? It makes no sense..

    1.6 billion sold LOL.

How many doses did they "give away" also? LOL Philippines sub Saharan Afrika et al.

They started this shit and they are determined to keep it going.

So what is worse? An anti vaxxer or those selling billions of doses made from the liquid in the CCP outhouses?
