Well with some very very last minute change in plans, I found myself checking out of my hotel and taking an Uber to the bus station.

I took an 8 pm bus, it had the aircon cranked and was really really freezing and I like it cool, by the time we started descending the mountains it warmed up outside and fogged the black tinted windows completely.

Earlier I remembered a particular trip I took in the Metrocable to Parque Arvi. It was with my roommate and her (now ex) boyfriend. This was the second trip the 3 of us took to Parque Arvi. The first time the boyfriend drove, which was a mistake. The purpose of the second trip was to take some pictures of my roommate on the metrocable and in the park for her webcam page.

On the way up we had a car to yourself once we left Santo Domingo. My roommate stripped down and her boyfriend started taking pictures. He was a bit annoyed that she was taking her clothes off in front of me, even though I saw her naked nearly every day. When we got to the top he took her aside and argued with her about getting naked in front of me, which cancelled taking any pictures in the park and cut short the trip.

It ended up being a complete waste of time. He wasn't much of a photographer and every picture clearly showed me and him reflected in the plexiglass.

I've been online for more than 30 years, going all the way back to Prodigy and GeNIE. In that time I've received hundreds of online threats. While all online threats are silly and childish, this one goes above and beyond.

I you buy ISG, you're going to ban me? Why not threaten to have Batman come and kick my ass? It's slightly more plausible and at least it's a suggestion of something which would harm me.

This might come as a surprise to you, but my life doesn't revolve around ISG. At this point there's almost never any information which is new to me. I enjoy answering questions and helping people and I've met some great guys from ISG. But I have never experienced a problem when I've taken an extended break from the site.

Let's talk about the metrocables, shall we? Each car holds up to 8 people. The plexiglass is tinted and because it's plexiglass, it's scratched. At the top there are vents, but if the car is full it's stuffy and hot. As anyone who has tried to take pictures through tinted, scratched plexiglass can attest, it affects the quality of the picture, probably because you've added a filter of tinted, scratched plexiglass. However, it also makes it difficult to see clearly into the cars, from the other cars. The cars in front and behind are too far away for a clear view, only the returning cars, as they pass are close enough, and then only briefly. But why waste words when pictures show exactly what I stated?

You rode the metrocables 2 days and you don't know if they'll let local teens on? I've ridden all of the metrocables, most several times. There are always teens waiting to ride the metrocables. Someone who has never been to Medellin and never ridden the metrocables might not understand this, but it's a significant point. While the metrocables are used by tourists, they were not built for tourism. They were built for the same reason as the escalators in Comuna 13, to make parts of the city more accessible. It would defeat the purpose if "security" stopped everyone and checked IDs before letting them on. If you had ever tried to ride the Metro or metrocables on election day you would understand how disastrous that would be. For those who don't know, the entire metro system is free on election day and the lines for the metrocables are extremely long.

One last metro point. You won't find graffiti in the Metro trains either. Are you suggesting no teens are allowed on the trains?

Monserrate anyone? If you tell a taxi you want to go to Monserrate, the driver is going to drop you right in front of the ticket station to catch the tram or funicular, unless you specifically tell him to keep going and drop you 50 yards further up because you want to hike to the top. Go ahead and find me a Bogota taxi driver who is going to assume a middle aged gringo wants to hike to the top instead of taking the tram or funicular?

Do a search for Monserrate and you'll find pictures and descriptions of the tram and funicular, whether you go with Trip Advisor, Wikipedia or the Monserrate official website. Sorry, but I'm not going to believe any monger wouldn't be able to figure out that one of Bogota's top attractions has ways to get there other than hiking up a mountain, especially not a monger who claims to have mongered in so many places.

There are no cameras on the metrocables. They wouldn't do much good anyway. The metrocables have tinted and scratched plexiglass windows. It's difficult to see through. It's my biggest complaint about the metrocables, because it's difficult to take any good pictures.
