Funny stuff if you don't get offended. Just like comedians of all persuasions.

Let's admit something here and no offense intended to anyone but: Whites make fun of Blacks, Blacks make fun of Whites and we both make fun Asians.
You should have left it alone and let it fade away.

You left out a crucial word: "some. "

Some whites make fun of blacks. Some blacks make fun of whites. Some, black and white, make fun of Asians. However, just because some people do something, doesn't make it right or acceptable.

"Displaced African men raised in the US by their displaced African ancestors" isn't comedy, unless everyone in the audience is dressed up in white sheets.

If someone is born and raised in the US from ancestors who were born and raised in the US for at least 8 generations, they aren't a "displaced African. " They're Americans. Most of those "displaced Africans" can claim a longer family history in the US than many of the guys here.

P.S. can someone tell me how to cut down a quote? Although in this case it's all good reading.

I couldn't agree more. As I wrote about that pointlessly hostile post once before, there are better ways to boost self esteem. I try to stay out of situations I find frustrating. Like big city nightclubs in Europe and the Americas LOL! But seriously, there are lots of Internet communities that appreciate the kind of stuff in the post about Lleras. On the whole, ISG is not one of them. Foxnews.com or feminist NGO sites would be more receptive.

At first Medellin was difficult to understand, because I tried to reason with people who were truly trying to survive and not under any rhyme or reason.

In America, if a 60 year old man marries a 22 year old woman it looks crazy, in Medellin it looks just the opposite. Have you ever seen two 22 year old Colombians married? I have and I have also seen them sleeping in the park with their new born baby. So having a 60 year old well established guy who chooses to marry a 22 year old girl and provide her with what she needs, sure beats sleeping in Parque Botero with your husband and child.

Many of you guys on the board are over thinking it and are way too judgmental without knowing the entire situation. Many people contact me and still to this day, they try and make me understand why they choose Poblado over centro, but still have an itch to visit Centro? What is it about a place that you truly despise that makes you want to visit. What makes you think an expensive WG is better than a poor WG? They are both working girls. Many guys have contacted me to help them locate antibiotics after the condom broke, guess where most of the guys were staying and guess where most of their WGs were from? You guessed it, Poblado.

I am still baffled by the fact that guys can be in the land of pussy and all they can come to the board and contribute is how African Guys travel in groups, Chinese guys are stupid, and the fat old guys is repulsed by the girl he takes to the mall for a meal. SpiderRider,

Displaced African men raised in the US by their displaced African ancestors. I suspect on the East Coast and Southern regions. They run in packs of 3-12.

Seriously we were all displaced from somewhere, the locals have ancestors displaced from Spain, we others from other parts of Europe and beyond.

They speak a corrupt form of English?

Exactly what do you think the British think when you here people from the USA, Canada or Australia talk?

They run in packs of 3-12

Are you saying that they have more friends and people that enjoy being around them?

The geezer gringos tend to fly solo or in pairs at most. They are distinguished by their sloppy or ill-advised clothes and white sneakers. They're seen also struggling through the learning curve of Whatsapp and translator apps.

I am a geezer and do not own a pair of loafers, or white ...did you really call them sneakers? I have not heard anyone call athletic shoes that since the 70s. I am neither baffled nor befuddled by either Whatsapp or a translator. I can read and have opposing thumbs.

Here's the thing gentlemen. These girls do NOT want to sit down and eat a meal with you. This activity is done only with family or close friends in their culture. It is boring, uncomfortable, and just odd to do it with a stranger, a foreigner no less. You are not ingratiating yourself by buying a dinner. In their view its a waste of money that could be going in to their pocket.

The last time I took a chica to dinner, I asked her first , as I usually do, "do you want to go with me to dinner or come over after?" She chose dinner and showed up dressed classy not sexy like she would have if she wanted to come over later. She had a blast picking off my plate and trying to feed me off of hers and picking the dessert and tried feeding that to me also, I was the one that would have been embarrassed had I thought I was ever going to see anyone from that restaurant again.

So are you sure that you have their view at all? All of them?

The key takeaway from your post was the was the descriptive title word Melancholy; an uptown word for sad or an old school word for depressed. It is not a description of the place you were physically in, it is a description of the state your mind is in. Everyone else was there to have a good time, and they probably were. You were there emitting negative vibes. I think I would much enjoy reading their description of Parque Lleras as opposed to the ramblings of a melancholy mind. Have you considered antidepressants? Latina pussy is my antidepressant but it does not seem to be working for you.

    SpiderRider,

I just wrote a complete rebuttal, before deleting it. What would be the point?

There's a lot of stuff in here that horrifies me. How could someone continue to visit a country with such a diverse racial mix, yet hold such opinions about African Americans? You made it crystal clear, you feel they have no business living anywhere except Africa. However, everyone is entitled to their beliefs.

There is some stuff that's wrong, and that's what I'll address.

Colombians go out to eat all the time. Even in the poorest areas you'll find little restaurants, some with only 2 or 3 tables. While they often do go out in groups they also go alone, with a co-worker, or just a friend. I've had many enjoyable meals with Colombianas. Not boring, not uncomfortable, nobody was repulsed.

Every girl I've invited to lunch or dinner has been appreciative. With friends, they'll sometimes say they can't afford it, but if I tell them I'm inviting them, they'll accept. Later, they will invite me.

In Colombia, inviting someone means you are paying. "Vamos a almorzar. Te invito. " Let's go to lunch. I'm inviting you, means my treat. "Voy a almorzar. Quieres venir conmigo? I'm going to lunch. Do you want to come along? That means I'm not offering to buy, but I'd welcome the company.

Colombianas are affectionate. They're also conscious about appearance. Most of the girls we are seeing are estrato 1-3. Parque Lleras is estrato 6. Unless you're with a Mansion girl, who eats with an old monger in Lleras 3 times a week, she's out of her comfort zone. Plus, it's obvious to her everyone knows she's a puta. I've seen very few girls snuggling up with men in the Parque Lleras restaurants. This includes obvious Colombian couples.

Not all Colombianas just want to get drunk or high. If you're paying someone for sex and she just wants to get drunk or high, you're paying the wrong person.

Taking someone out, who you're paying to fuck, is fine; dinner, drinks, movie, dancing, whatever. Letting her drink as much as she wants is a bad idea. It's an even worse idea if you're drinking too. Here's just a few things you may end up dealing with:

    Bar fight.

    Vomit.

    Vomit in the lobby.

    Vomit in the elevator.

    Vomit in your bed.

    Vomit in your jacuzzi tub.

    Crying girl.

    Screaming girl.

    Violent girl.

    Angry guys.

    Passed out girl.

    Getting drugged.

    Getting arrested.

    Getting robbed.

    Getting killed.

Plus you're spending money that's just getting in the way of what you wanted to do. Fuck the girl. If you want a drunk or high girl, go to Club Fahrenheit at 5 am. There will be plenty to choose from, already drunk or high. Or have drinks or drugs available at your apartment. It's cheaper. You remain in control. No risk from other people. Plus, instead of spending money to watch your girl dance with someone else, she can be dancing, naked, for you.

    Here's my suggestion:

Do what works for you. It may not be right for someone else. If you want to take a girl out to eat, do it. If you want to take her to a movie, a mall, or to walk around Parque Arvi, do it. If you want to take her dancing, drinking, or out sniffing glue, do it. If you just want to fuck her and send her on her way, do it. If you want to pick girls of the street, from casas or strip clubs, or you want to pick the 2 million pesos per hour girl off an escort site, do it.

It's your life and your money. Make the most of both. One or the other will eventually run out. Enjoy it while you can.

If you're not enjoying where you're at, or what you're doing, go somewhere else, do something else. Don't just sit around bitching about other people enjoying themselves.

This is a terrible (borderline disrespectful) way to describe the African American people, their culture is an integral part of the American culture, and they have every right to be in Lleras as any of us. I love to party with people from different cultural background, and I often learn a lot from them.

I take it that you are not from America nor Asian, and you pretty much dislike other people's culture preferences. If that's the case, why travel at all.

It is obvious that you have a strong opinion on what the girls in lleras want, but it is just an opinion, don't confuse that with fact. I doubt that you have conducted a survey on the psychological state of the working girls in lleras that's large enough to allow you to draw any reliable conclusion. Besides, like Mr. E said, they are escorting, serving a client's need is their job.

No need to pay an escort to dance with other guys, it is an unintelligent way to spend your money. Save the money and signup for salsa class.

Divina Cielo for example was once a fair restaurant. Good memories there. I see now it is just a beer and hotdog stand.

They WANT TO get drunk and high. Take them to a a rumba bar (nice or a dump, it doesn't matter) and let them drink to their heart's content for a couple of hours. Now you're showing them a good time! Do NOT let them bring friends or "cousins", you will be locked out immediately. DO let them gradually bond and party with other girls in the bar. Now they're having fun with you. If they are skilled dancers take them to a salsa bar. Let them dance with other good dancers. That's NOT you. Cut them off after about 2-1/2 hours, typically 1 am, or they will be too drunk and tired to play when you get behind closed doors.
Ya know life is about ongoing change. Not about satisfying individual egos. Back in the day when the beetles hit the scene, some people were put off by things that brought about change around the world. But the world and people in it adapted in spite of that.

I have a few questions. Have the Colombian people and service providers ( hoes too ) adapted to the presence of whoever has entered their scene? Will relations and interactions be fine tuned over time? Will there be more changes 10 more years down the road? Will there be individuals offering their perspective of the current scene when it happens, and how things used to be? Will people move about their lives regardless of opinion or perspectives of others? The answers to these questions is a resounding yes.

That being the case. I think people should just learn to let life do it's thing. Maybe just be pleased in the fact, that the world is not defective, it is evolving normally. If Colombian people are the ones responsible for giving access to their country to foreigners, doesn't it make sense that foreigners from all over would actually come? How does a place become over run with foreigners or a particular group if the Colombian people are the ones inviting foreigners to visit or live in their country? Wont the visa and tourist requirements take care of that?

Is it a foreigner problem being discussed here, or a personal problem? It's much easier to get rid of a few disgruntled individuals than to move the earth and the people in it to satisfy them.

The malls, the streets, tinder chicks, etc. All ranked above the Panamanian chicks I saw the last time I was there. I do have to agree that the service is terrible in Panama though. This is why I'm heading back to Colombia this week LOL.

Funny post and, unlike many posts on this board, it's honest. Same could be said, except for the Black groups of the Philippines. But it takes a long time to catch on to this because you just a stupid foreigner here at least for the first few years. Do not waste money on meals, etc. Unless you already have a loving relationship with them which usually only occurs with women close to your age and with whom you have a good personality match and speak their language. There is no point in dressing up a pig and putting on lipstick, it's still a pig metaphorically speaking of such "relationships."
