No. Capitalism gives private actors the right to own and control property in accordance with their own interests. That's all. I think you are confusing capitalism with markets. Markets can exist under socialism too for example; they are not a feature that is unique to capitalism.

Think of it like this. Socialism would shift the ownership of property to the public, rather than private individuals. So a company would be owned by the workers, not by some rich priveleged AR $ehole that does nothing but suck and leech off its workers. So the benefits of the business would accrue to the workers, not to someone that just happened to be born w a silver spoon in their mouths. So more people would share in the welath, more people could send their kids to school etc. So your anecdote about school is nothing but heart warming.

So what were people before capitalism? If everyone is either poor or rich then there is no poor or rich because there is nothing to compare to. With capitalism some people are able to get more stuff so in comparison to people that do not have more stuff then they could be rich, well off, middle class, stable, etc.

What's so plastic about my barrio (Laureles)? Plastic girls? 80%-90% of all the girls I meet are all natural and I like that.
