I was in St. John’s in early April for a brief visit.

I spent a bit of time before traveling researching the local scene on this board as well as on some Canadian boards, but there was little relevant current information. So to save everyone else some time, I thought I would report on what I found during my trip.

STRIP CLUB UPDATE

Cotton Club:

Cotton Club is no more. There was a fire in 2006 at the Cotton Club at 36 Georges Street. I walked by the premises and it looks like no repairs have been done since the fire. Too bad – it looked like it was a nice vintage 2-storey stone building with some character.

Bubbles:

Bubbles also is no more. Fortunately, it was replaced at the same location (36A Georges Street) by a new club named ‘Platinum Club”. Funny thing – I was walking down Georges Street one cold rainy night near midnight and ran into a couple guys in their thirties. They stopped me to ask about “Bubbles” and said they couldn’t find it. I told them I had no idea as I wasn’t local but was also looking for it. They said they’d been looking and couldn’t find it so were going back to their hotel. I poked my head in a number of doors along Georges Street and discovered “Bubbles” had been replaced by “Platinum”.

Platinum Club (36A Geoges Street) (formerly Bubbles):

I walked by a few times looking for Bubbles and almost missed it. It’s a non-descript (blue) building and I didn’t see a name on the street. The entrance is recessed quite a bit within an alcove (looks like a dark covered alley!). If you venture in you’ll see the sign for the club. Cover charge was $5, and there is a mandatory coat check (for tips).

This club is within easy walking distance of the Delta Hotel. As is Georges Street, where the majority of the pubs and clubs are located.

I went to Bubbles on 3 different nights (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday) – each time after midnight. It was pretty slow – particularly Sunday. There were 5 or more dancers and not that many customers so the ratio was good. Bought a couple dancers a few drinks and chatted with them for a while. Ended up going for several dances with them – Jasmine and Paris. Full contact above the waist and from mid-thighs below – no contact encouraged or welcomed between. Private dances were topless but with bottoms. Funny thing was Jasmine’s thong was a little big and kept slipping out of position – not sure if that was intentional or not but added to some levity. Jasmine told me she used to work at Sirens. From looking at other private dances while in the VIP rooms, and from talking to some other patrons and several girls, seemed doubtful that there would be any “extras” available (other than perhaps on exception if you hit the right girl, are hot and she’s had a lot to drink!).

Sirens (124 Water Street)

Also went to Sirens on each night (again, between midnight and closing). Cover charge was $5, with the mandatory coat check. I tipped a few extra bucks and the coat check girl gave me a handful of free passes in return! Meant no more cover charges on the other two nights. Dances were $20 for full contact (topless, where they kept on their bottoms – similar rules to Bubbles) or $15 for full nude but with no contact.

Sirens was pretty dead on Sunday night, livened up a bit on Monday, and a bit more on Tuesday. Not very many customers and I only saw 3 or 4 girls (over the 90 minutes I was there). Two were a little over 5’ – one with lots of tattoos and the other a little anorexic. Neither appealed to me. On Monday, there was a girl who wasn’t there on Sunday - a tall brunette Amazon with a great smile who said her name was Amber. She towered over everyone as she had 6” heels and was about 5’10” without heels. Things were slow so we chatted at the bar for a while. She said she was a student and just finished her last exam earlier that day (explains why she wasn’t there Sunday). She was working to fund her education so I offered to help her education and went for a few lap dances. Had a couple full contact, then some no-contact full nude as I wanted to see her fully nude and close up! Had a great time and her body was flawless and firm. She said now her exams were over she was leaving and would work in clubs in either Toronto or Niagara Falls for the summer – perhaps even in the Sundowner or Seductions in Niagara Falls. I liked her, but the mileage wasn’t much different than at Platinum.

Checked the club again on Tuesday night. I wanted to try one of the other girls, but when I got a look at them close up they really didn’t appeal to me. Amber then showed up on stage and I stuck around to watch her (went fully nude on stage). After she finished her set she came over and was very friendly and chatty. However, it was getting late and I wanted to try out Champagne Room again before they closed so left.

Champagne Room: (83 Duckworth)

Convenient strip club if you’re staying at the Fairmont – very short walk so no taxis and no worry about drinking and driving.

No cover charge and cheapest beer of any of the stripclubs (I think it was only $4.75 per bottle).

This is a very small club compared to the others and not nearly in as good shape. I usually like upscale clubs but this became my favourite because it was more intimate and the owner (an ex-stripper named Tina) was entertaining. If she had a few extra drinks, she’d get up on stage as well when things got slow and one of her favourite songs came on. Smaller club, but had as many girls as Platinum and some very attractive ones at that. Had some dances with Ariel (very cute 5’ girl) and also with Hailey. I normally wouldn’t have picked Hailey because although she was tall and slim she had several prominent tattoos and I’m not a tattoo guy. But she looked like she was having so much fun and she had such great eyes and smile (and also very pretty face) tat I couldn’t resist. And was I glad I succumbed – best lap dances by far of any I had in St. John’s and much better mileage than the other clubs (ymmv). Went back just to see her and Ariel and was glad I did.

Oh yes – one nice feature of the club was that it had a large wide-screen TV at the front – on which hard core porn was showing whenever I was in the club. Certainly helped to get you in the mood.

Picadilly (supposed to be on Duckworth):

Tried a number of times to locate this club as it was referred to earlier and on some other internet sites. I checked the phone book, recent internet listings, drove up and down Duckworth and couldn’t find it. I assumed it went out of business and perhaps was re-born as the Champagne Room.

Billy’s Show Bar (130 Water Street):

I found references to this club and checked out the address and it wasn’t there. Checked up and down the street and couldn’t find it. If it exists, it’s too much trouble to find. Perhaps it too went out of business.

MASSAGE PARLOUR UPDATE

Through research I could only find two mps: Hush and Executifsweet.

Executifsweet (134A Water Street. Phone: 753-5070)

This is next door to Sirens, but I never ventured inside. Phoned on a couple different nights and each time was told they had 2 girls on. Both were medium height (5’2 to 5’4”) and the descriptions weren’t too detailed. Asked about tattoos and was told both had several so declined. Since it was next door to Sirens was wondering whether perhaps one of the girls I saw there also worked at Executifsweet.

Rates are on their website (www.executifsweet.com) but the website is a little out of date so asked for rates. I was quoted a range of $85 (topless) to $95 (nude) to $110 (nude reverse) for 30 minutes and up to $190 for 60 minutes (nude reverse). Rates were higher than Hush and girls’ descriptions didn’t do it for me so gave it a pass.

Hush (moved from internet reports and now located at 208 LeMerchant Road. Phone: 753-6002).

Called Hush on Tuesday night and told two girls were available: Tiffany, described as 5’7”, 24 and slender; Heather, described as 5’8”, 30 and slender. Rates were $90 for 40 minutes nude or $100 for 40 minutes nude reverse; up to $160 for 60 minutes nude reverse. Invited to drop by to check them out “with no obligation”. So I headed on over!

Hush is located in a house and there are no external signs to advertise it. Very discrete which is nice. I went through the outer door and rang a bell at the inner door. Met by two very attractive ladies that were as described. Hard to select between them but opted for the slightly slimmer, taller one. I thought she said she was Tiffany, but from the descriptions I had on the phone perhaps I ended up with Heather. No matter, I would have been happy with either as they were both very friendly and engaging when I arrived. Actually, the most relaxed, pleasant introduction to a new mp I’ve ever experienced anywhere. To make a long story short, opted for the full hour deal with nude reverse and ended up having a good time. Shortly after we started I offered her a massage, which she accepted. I’ve had some training and we had lots of time so I gave her a full body massage – including her hands, fingers, feet and toe. And her other toe J which was met with much appreciation.

I was only looking for the basic advertised nude reverse with a wet finish and wasn’t disappointed – especially for the price compared to Executifsweet and the internet comments saying no extras were available either at that mp. Not sure if any other services are available at Hush – none were offered and none discussed. I’d go back since I just think of it as an hour of full contact lap dances with much more mileage than what was available in the clubs.

STREET SCENE

I don't go for street girls, but like to keep an eye out for them as an indication of the general SP scene in a city. I was driving quite a bit late at night (10pm to 3am) and didn't see any street girls in the downtown core. Either there are none, it was the wrong night(s), it was too cold and wet, or I missed them. Anyone who goes to St. Johns for the street scene will be sorely disappointed.

ESCORT AGENCIES

Never tried any, but a number are listed in the yellow pages (from my review of the hotel room phone book and other sites). But none have internet sites that are current and all are outcalls. Reports on other boards indicates many of them provide no greater service than what's available at the MPs, although sometimes they will for a huge upcharge. For my money, I'll wait until I'm in a city like Montreal, Toronto or elsewhere that has lots of internet sites and reports on the local scene.

PUB SCENE (i.e NOT stripclubs):

No shortage of pubs in St. John’s – particularly on Georges Street! A couple of the clubs were really rocking after midnight on Tuesday night – to the point where you could barely squeeze yourself in. However, it was a much younger crowd and anyone over 40 (such as me) would feel somewhat out of place since the majority are in their 20’s.

I visited Executif sweet again a month ago. I saw a girl Holly. Nice girl, early 20's about 5'8 130lbs, blonde. C-cup, very nice body. Massage was ok, crystal clear there were no extras. I went for 30min NR. She was not very responsive or vocal so I was a little disapointed, and there was nothing great about the finish, just lots of oil and a release.
