Austria announced on a Friday that tourist travel was banned from Monday!

Still a huge risk of things changing just before travel, or even worse, changing while you are away and leaving you stranded abroad.

And that's exactly why I have refrained from making plans for a big mongering trip to Europe. Just not worth the headache and worrying about things like making it over there, but then getting stranded or something with nothing to do but sit in a hotel room. Not going to happen!

Switzerland has just introduced a 10 day self quarantine requirement again for UK visitors even if fully vaccinated which sucks and ruins my planned return to Globe in December! Unless they remove this requirement in the next two or three weeks.

I was looking forward to trying Sofia DE and others like Chantale. Austria is on a full lockdown again with hotels closed to tourists (my other choice. So it seems Germany remains the only option as of now.

Thank you both for quick replies! I figured, and I both understand and support the practice. Just not a fan of registering my private past time activities with anyone. Not that anyone would care but still, I appreciate my privacy. So will look elsewhere this time around. Too bad, I still haven't snagged Sofia and would have wanted to give that another chance, but with plenty of options around guaranteeing me leaving happy regardless if I would have been successful with that or not.

Yes of course they scan the covid pass or a very recent negative pcr or quick test. No more bogus pizza sheet! Without one or the other, they refuse your entry.

Not sure if Globe still has in house a quick test maker (which you pay) , the website says so but call the club to be sure, cost and time or do it in town before going.
