Sorry but that is hilarious. But really? Major holiday and you did not mentally connect the dots of zillions of people? Mid-week during the day is best. I always left before the night shift started. But have seen the long lines when leaving. Night time there is a party atmosphere and they have the speakers blaring. Every year I swear the prices keep going up up up. Not sure how so many locals can afford to go. Holidays I just know are jam packed and prices go up on weekends and even more during holidays. I fried in the sun last time on a cloudy day. San Vincente is a tourist trap. Do not go to that one.

I was thinking of something more secluded without gates or entrance fees or concession stands, somewhere you can just hop in the hot springs like hopping into a river or lake or going to the beach in Santa Marta or Rodadero for example. Any place like that?

Also what do you recommend for food options in and around the area near Parque Libertad?

Never read about anything like that: open and free. I did some research in the past on hot springs and maybe 25% required you to wear those rubber swimming caps! WTF!

Take note my experience was during Holy Week so it may be different outside of a holiday.

When I was there I stayed next to Plaza Bolivar. We walked down to Parque de la Libertad, Plaza Victoria, and SanAndresito.

All I can say is some of these areas you do not want to walk around at night. For example at night everything around Calle 9 was closed and the streets abandoned, during the day it was lively. Lots of people just laid out sleeping on the sidewalk both men and women. Good restaurants closed at 7 only leaving greasy junk food places open (I'm going to guess it was due to Holy Week). After the first 2 days I got sick and tired of eating chorizos. I didn't see much around Parque Libertad, Plaza Bolivar had good police presence but the women there looked very old and used up.

It's a nice place to visit but I wouldn't recommend it for mongering as not many single men go there to generate the demand for that city to create the supply.

It's a real pain getting from the ticket booth up the hill to the spa, at the termales. It's exhausting. But the walk back feels pretty good going downhill. I don't bother with the locker, I just roll my clothes up and bring them w me. I usually need my wallet to get money for the snack bar. But the warm waters feel real good. Worth the trip over there.

Too many little kids and mothers and grandmothers were enter the male locker room taking the lockers. It also didn't help that the majority of the lockers in front of the cold showers had pad locks or a sticker saying "not disposable."

It also started raining hard while we were in the hot springs. Made the rocks very slippery on the way down.

I wish someone gave me a heads up on why everyone was in a rush to get the hill while my dumb ass was taking my sweet time recording videos and taking pictures of the scenery. The lockers! If anyone is reading this, prioritize getting up the hill and getting a locker before taking pictures. Also bring a few 1000 COP coins to save yourself the wait of them getting you change, you will need one for the locker to release the key. Take the pictures when you're leaving as there will be less people in your way.

How I arrived:

I arrived by bus from Medellin, I learned something new that there is actually a 2nd bus terminal called terminal del sur located near Poblado (makes sense since the other main one is called terminal del Norte). Anyways the bus company is called Flota Occidental and it was a pleasant 5 hour bus ride from Medellin to Pereira. We left Medellin at 6:30 am and arrived around 12 noon this was with a half hour stop for breakfast at around 9 am at a typical Colombian restaurant. I ordered caldo de costilla which came with an arepa and to drink I ordered a coca cola sin azcar.

Where I stayed:

I managed to find a girl friendly airbnb located in a very central area off of Cra 7 and Calle 18 about one block from Plaza Bolvar and 4 blocks to Parque Libertad. The aparta-estudio had excellent high speed internet with my own dedicated router and 220 mbps connection. Had an HDTV with Netflix and other streaming apps. It had hot water in the shower from a real hot water heater (not a ducha elctrica). It also came equipped with a mini-fridge and a kitchenette with 4 burner gas stove, crock pot, coffee maker, pots, pans, plates, and utensils / silverware.

The bed was actually 2 beds to put together to make one big bed and it was quite comfortable for sleeping as well as fucking.

My only complaint is that it didn't really have any windows except for some small windows in the bathroom and it would get quite warm in there due to lack of ventilation and there was no AC just a fan.

No problem bringing chicas up to my room matter of fact I brought a total of 8 chicas up in there during the time I was there and didn't have any issues whatsoever. And no I didn't get scoped.

Side trip to Armenia:

My other homegirl Angeles (big smiles in Cartagena) had messaged me to tell me she was back in Medellin (guess Cartagena didn't work out for her like she had hoped it would) anyways I told her I was in Pereira and asked if she had any friends to introduce to me there, she said she had one, a 19 year old vennie crespa with a cute face. It turns out she wasn't actually in Pereira that day though, she was actually in Armenia. Anyways we hop out and I take her to this short time hotel called hotel castellana. 15 k for one hour for the room and 100 k for BBFS CIP we hadn't even agreed on that before hand but the chemistry with her was just so that I could feel like she would go along with whatever I wanted and she did I fact do just that.
